That is one seriously huge guardsman!
QMII ain't exactly short, but he is still more than a full head taller!
He probably pulls trucks with one hand in his spare time, just for fun. - Up hill...

Yes, the refugee museum is in two parts. One part being dedicated to the some 200.000 Germans who fled Red Army during WWII - with good reason! It was payback time for the Soviets and the soldiers raped and pillaged themselves across Germany, but also parts of Poland and Czechoslovakia - a thing that is not that well known.
Anyway, The German refugees weren't treated kindly - it's not something to be proud of as a Dane, but having said that it's also difficult for me to denounce the treatment of the German refugees. It was at the end of five long years of occupation so the resentment against anything German was high. (My parents and my grandparents generation experienced the Occupation, so it's not an abstract thing to me.)
Thousands of German refugees died when in DK, from malnutrition (years of poor food combined with Danish reluctance to spend too much money on good food for the refugees) and illness. (there was equal little will to treat the Germans.) Resulting in mainly the old, weak, sick and children dying.
The other part of the museum is dedicated to refugees of all times, also the very recent Ukrainians.
- The first mayor group of refugees coming to DK, came in the 1500's - from France. They were, I guess you can call the proto-Protestants, who fled persecution in France. Some of these families are still around, some rising to prominence like the de Meza family.

"The two reporters Marinella and Theodor from Børneavisen have interviewed Her Majesty the Queen for the summer issue of the newspaper, which will be published tomorrow
Her Majesty welcomed the two budding journalists in Christian IX's Palace at Amalienborg for a talk about both the Queen's hobbies and what the role of the Queen entails. Before the interview, the young reporters had received input to their questions from Børneavisen's many readers, and a special question was repeated, namely: "Do you also sometimes wear cozy clothes like the rest of us?"."

I should like to read that interview. The questions the children ask are often pretty sharp and also with a surprising (for adults) angle.

And I'm delighted to be able to translate a few quotes from that interview.
They are good and kind grandmotherly answers.

The journalists were 11 year old Theodor and 12 year old Marinella.
What's the best and worst thing about being a Queen?
QMII responds that when she was young she had big problems with always being noticed and she didn't like people whispering behind her back.
Does she wear very casual clothing when she is alone, like the rest of us?
In Danish context, casual clothing could be the infamous, but most comfortable caravan-tuxedo.

"You bet I do. Jeans and sweaters and that sort of things, when it's suitable. But when I go to town (dress up) I dress neatly, just like you have done today."

That's nice to see.
Søren Østegaard is without a doubt QMII's favorite comedian and I'm glad to see his show survived the pandemic. It was close, I understand!

Well, he has an easy start.
Unless he starts to cut off the heads of pet-bunnies in front of 200 kindergarten children at the square in front of Copenhagen Town Hall he can only do better than his predecessor.
- No kidding. It really is that bad!

Dunno.
A guess: Because Marselisborg is a private home and the place really hasn't got any official representation rooms?
And it was worse...

And apart from that. - The annual celebrations in Rebild Hills is the only place outside USA where the 4th July is marked consistently.

"Ballet dancers from The Royal Ballet, The Royal Ballet of London and Staatsballett Berlin last night put on the ballet shoes at Sostrup Estate in Grenaa, which for the second year in a row housed the World Ballet, which this year performs 13 performances in Denmark, Sweden and Germany.
In the presence of Her Majesty the Queen, the evening's conference and leader of the World Ballet, opera singer Jens-Christian Wandt, led the audience through a program of both well-known pieces and a few surprises. Including the ballet piece Côte a Côte, which Prince Henrik created together with the World Ballet in 2014."

"Today is the Faroese national holiday, and on this occasion Her Majesty the Queen sends her warmest greetings to the Faroese people.
Her Majesty the Queen greets all the Faroes at the Faroe Islands' tóðarfestival, Olavsøka, and a heartfelt thank you for the great hospitality under the Faroe Islands this year."
