Yesterday afternoon, April 28, Queen Margrethe handed out the Rungstedlund Award during a ceremony in Rungsted. The prize is annually awarded to a person who has made a notable contribution in an area which interested Karen Blixen.

He has taken an opposite view or rather conclusion of the causes for the two wars, to what was considered a fact until very recently.
I.e. that good ol' DK was betrayed by the unbending Schleswig Holstein people and attacked by the aggressive Preussians. - That is of course to some extent true, but if we are to be truthful the disaster of the Second Schleswigan Was was just, if not more, the result of Danish nationalist and inexperienced politicians and an almost fanatical press.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that QMII has read his books and that the two of them easily could talk about this subject for several hours!

Thanks, Iceflower.
Here is a nice video from BB: VIDEO: Prinsgemalen kidnappede treårig | Billed Bladet
While PH was doing his job at Esrum Lake (The lake is right next to Fredensborg Palace) a almost three year old boy named Rasmus was admiring the royal golf-car. Now, according to Rasmus' dad the boy is crazy about cars, so today was his lucky day!
When PH returned he spotted the fascinated boy and asked he wanted to go for a ride. Yeah, okay.
So sitting on the lap of the adjutant and helping PH steering with one hand on the wheel, the trio went for a cruise. Upon returning PH put his hat on, well, over, Rasmus head and told the how big a help he was in steering.

Great to see henrik back in action.
I think last year, Frederik, Christian and Isabella joined him, or maybe it was a different event.

 It is Gerry & Polyesco.
Whatever we may say or think or suspect about PH we cannot deny that he is fond of children and that he has a way with children.
He did attend this annual event at Esrum Lake last year with Bella and Christian and it was on that occasion he ate half of Christian's hotdog.

Due to Thursday being a holiday, BB has hit the streets today. So let's go straight to this weeks top story.
Summary of article in Billed Bladet #20, 2015.
Written by Trine Larsen.
The dachshund, Rosina, has been deported and she is no longer a Rigshund (*). Instead PH had another dog, Tillia, who is of the same breed as QMII beloved Helike - and virtually indentical. Tillia is eight months old while Helike is nine years old.
It seems like Rosina and PH were a less than compatible match, so after a couple of years it was decided to ship her ff to France.
PH explains: "Yes, it's true that I have a new dog. She is very, very sweet and is named Tilllia".
But what about Rosina?
PH: "Oh dear, there is nothing wrong with her. She lives in France with some relatives and she is fine".
BB has consulted the dog-therapist, Henrik Ljungstrøm, who have also dealt with the Regent Couple's dogs beforehand.
"There wasn't anything wrong with Rosina, she and the Prince Consort simply wasn't the right match. Dogs are different and must suit both the owner and the surroundings they have to live in".
So driving cars, sailing and hunting wasn't her cup of tea?
HL: "Let me put it like this that if a dog don't like that or (like) to associate a lot of people then the DRF isn't the right place to live. And then it's common sense for both parts to find another solution and make the right choice, so that both the dog and it's owner are pleased".
He does praise the QMII-dog, Helike: "That's a world-class dog. Really fantastic. Helike isn't for anyone and (she) is very attached to the Queen, so that's a really good match".
Henrik Ljungstrøm has not personally dealt with Tillia: "But I have been asked for advise and I have offered suggestions and guidance, so I hope it's right for all parties".
(*) Dog of the Realm, the loving term for the DRF dogs. Equivalent to the US First Dog. Here seen walking President Obama BTW: http://www.blogcdn.com/www.pawnation...90ds060910.jpg

Not sure where to place this.
Now for something more amusing.
Each summer there are a number of theatrical revues here in DK. They go from very professional to amateurs and common for all of them is that they take a loving satirical view of what has happened in the tribe the past year. Politicians and the DRF naturally being a favorite topic.
This year the very experienced actor Ulf Pilgaard who usually impersonate QMII, and do it in a way that is almost spooky in likeness, will impersonate PH instead - he has after all provided ample material for the script writers...
Don't know about you, but IMO Ulf Pilgaard has pulled it off big time!
https://app.box.com/s/uo3924nhkey1v6cb6utckkhw5eia4bx0
Here's the real one: https://app.box.com/s/4xmcn92dkrv7utsnl8cgx5avdh6zsvzs
Actually Ulf Pilgaard has been knighted by QMII and danced with her upon request and this is what he has to say about PH: "We had to have a parody on Prince Henrik and it does have some edges. That is after all a tradition here at home that when someone stick out their scent-horn. But it's done with love. You have to keep in mind that the DRF are the only ones here at home who really can't defend themselves.
The Prince Consort is indeed big enough to take it. He is not meek but a great personality.
I have made parodies of him before and I have read his book Destiny Oblige. That's a very well written book and people tend to forget what background he really has. That his father founded a paper in Hanoi and that he taught himself Mandarine and Chinese (IRRC Mandarine is also Chinese). He is a bel esprit, dammit and far more intelligent than he is often portrayed. The Prince Consort is a man who does what he himself wants to do and that I kinda like him for. Something as unique as an anarchist prince".
