HM The Queen presents the Ebbe Munch Prize 2006 in Fløjlsgemakket (i.e. ’the Velvet Room’) at Christiansborg Palace at 15.00.

Dr.dk has an article in Danish with photo on the event. The prize was awarded to Kai Vittrup for his outstanding achievements of establishing law and order for the UN in several crisis struck parts of the world.

The only event with royal participation in connection with the President's visit to Denmark was the luncheon yesterday. The reason for this is that this is an official visit, not a state visit!

Queen Margrethe is again designing costumes and scenery for the theater, this time for a ballet, but insists that she is not giving up her job as the monarch of Denmark. Planning and drawing the outfits and scenery for a ballet, based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Tinder Box, " often keeps her burning the midnight oil, she told reporters Friday. The ballet will open July 14 at Copenhagen's Tivoli gardens' Chinese-inspired pantomime theater.

Her Majesty was present because she is to design both costumes and set-design for the ballet "The Tinder Box" which will open in Tivoli Gardens next summer. At Her Majesty's right you see Dinna Bjørn, choreographer, and on Her Majesty's left, James Price, composer.

She hasn't stopped smoking, but in the future it will be done in private. Prince Henrik and Crown Prince Frederik has stopped smoking.
