I read today that Alexandra will be spending Christmas with her children at her home. According to the article, this is the first year that they won't spend Christmas at Marselisborg ( I hope I spelled that correctly... ), however, Prince Joachim will be there... I know they're divorced and all, but I imagine it must be rather hard for PJ and the rest of the family that the little princes won't be there.

That is sad. :( I was hoping QM would invite Alex along to the family x'mas gathering for the sake of her two grandsons....

I'm sure she did... They did spend last Christmas together, but they were only separated, now that they are divorced, my guess is that they're both trying to go their own ways now. And in these situations, children are the only ones who pay the price... Very sad indeed :(

I think that Princesse Alexandra and Prince Joachim has decided that it is the best way for them and ther 2 boys that they are going to have Christmas at ther mothers home with her and her parents.
I read in billedebladet her in Denmark that Prince Joachim are going to give his gifts to his boys the 23. of December and that he are going to spend som more time with them in ther christmas hollidays.
I think it a nice way for the boys to spend ther christmas hollidays with their parrents.

Remember what Queen E did to Diana after the divorce? Cold shoulder, because Diana did say herself she had a relationship (possibly to punish Charles for cheating on her throughout the marriage), published a book etc. Queen Margrethe is no fool, and insisting on Alex being the one at fault suggests that Queen M and Joachim are so stupid, they continue to have a warm relationship with Alex after discovering she has had an affair??
The truth is that there are Danes (e.g.Ekstra Bladet people) who are racist and didn´t like someone from HK becoming part of the RF. They´ve tried to witch-hunt and unfortunately, Alex´s choice of beau really walks straight into the landmine. If there´s any fault Alex is guilty of, then it´s her choice of boyfriend, and making it public so soon after her divorce, and letting Martin drive her car. That is foolish behaviour.

I agree with you. Also, there is a picture of the two of them at a cooking class not at tryst. Could they not have been friends in 2003 and develop a romance later. No one knows when Joachim and Alex's relationship broke down and who cheated on whom/when, if at all.

Princess Alexandra is invited the Queen's New Year Cour and Dinner on 1 January at Amalienborg, but this will be the first time that she will be there "only" as a guest, and she will arrive as one.

Yes, I also think that as long as she is invited to attend special events such as the New Year Cour and Dinner - she will wear a tiara and perhaps also her Order of the Elephant (can't find a reason why she wouldn't, but we don't know how they see it).

Thanks for the translation. it's very nice to know that she will be invited at Queen's new year cour and dinner and also will continue to attend the big traditional parties and dinner eventhough only as a guess.

I think You were right, I look at the the picture more careful, I think the diamonds were swinging while Alexandra move then the tiara seems to have different shape in the photo, just remember that alexandrine tiara diamonds are hanging on it's arch shape metal.

Princess Alexandra is considered Hello's Names & Faces to Know in 2006

Most-watched royal
PRINCESS ALEXANDRA
Despite her divorce from Denmark's Prince Joachim Princess Alexandra is still very much in the Scandinavian family's royal fold. She continues to appear at events alongside her former husband and in-laws, fully embracing her charitable duties and official royal role. But all eyes are on the 41-year-old divorcee as royal watchers wait to find out what will happen if the mum-of-two's relationship with hunky photographer Martin Joergensen, 15 years her junior, gets even more serious in the coming year

Yes, isn't this just MARVELOUS?
I'm sooo glad that there are folks out there who would agree with us Alexandra fans that this is a woman who only got more interesting AFTER her divorce: recognition that this is a person who's thriving in the face of adversity.
Also just fab to see that life can and does get better after age 40! And that one doesn't have to be 16 (Peaches Geldof, Sir Bob's daughter, who's also on the list) to be considered 'interesting' and a 'person to watch'.
Plus, to be totally honest, I can't help but be glad that Alex is giving all these crown princesses a run for their money (yes including that self-entitled-seeming sister in law of hers)
Bottom line: You go, Alex!
One off-topic P.S. though: I'd venture to say that the other princess worth watching would in my opinion be Maxima, considering her hard work last year despite having another child, and her subsequent considerable achievements. But again, that's something for another thread.

They're not supposed to be in competiton with each other.
What does self-entitled-seeming mean?
Well done to Alex and the other crown princesses and princess (Laurentien etc) who I think are all doing a very good job, especially the new ones who have grasped their role with ease after being only "in the job" for only 2 years.
As an aside, Peaches Geldof is top of the list of Hello's Faces to Watch in 2006 (aparently 2006's IT GIRL)

Princess Mary, is that you?
Of course, I meant 'entitled'-seeming. If you don't remember what 'entitled' means because Danish is taking up most of your brain these days, I recommend www.dictionary.com. Jeez. Not everyone here speaks English like a native Aussie.
Speaking of language, what I've always wanted to know: Does Alexandra speak Danish with her boys? I know that Grace Kellyfor example always spoke English with her kids, never French, which was after all the official language in Monaco..
