what I wonder though is..Joachim's primary residence is tens of miles away from Copenhagen. where does he stay when he's 'in the city'? Not with Alexandra, I presume?!

Of course, I meant preschool or kindergarten. Children everywhere don't start regular school until the age of 6 (in US) and 5 (in Asian countries, like India)

It was back to school again this week for Denmark's divorced royals Prince Joachim and Princess Alexandra. The couple, who last week accompanied elder son Nikolai on his first day back after the summer break, were fulfilling the same role for two-year-old Felix.

All smiles as they paused outside the youngster's kindergarden in the Copenhagen sunshine, the adults had obviously put past differences behind them to focus on their joint responsibilities as parents.

As Joachim boosted his younger son in his arms, Alexandra, who was in charge of the tot's rucksack, also reached out a supportive hand.

The Hong Kong-born mum-of-two was echoing the informal look she chose for Nikolai's return to school with another casual combo of light summer jacket and flip flops, rather than one of her usual elegant suits.


Alexandra, whose divorce from Queen Margrethe's younger son became final in April, is reportedly stepping out with a new beau. The Danish press says the 41-year-old has struck up a relationship with photographer Martin Jorgensen, whom she met when he was working on a documentary for her 40th birthday

Nikolaj is a big boy now. Felix is no longer a toddler. The kids are blessings.

There was a terror scare in Copenhagen, as someone had left a briefcase unattended. The suitcase was left in the area of Copenhagen where Felix attends kindergarten (close to Amalienborg, so the Queen was evacuated) and the police closed off a large area, before they ascertained that the briefcase wasn't dangerous. The palace was informed about it, as there was a Royal "on the scene", but Felix stayed with the rest of his friends in an area of the kindergarten that was further away from the briefcase, and deemed secure.

I was in Copenhagen when it happened, and I have seen all these policemen ! I don't know if it was because of that ? but it seems to be ....

I've always thought that Nikolai was cuter than Felix...I think Felix is an adorable (but somewhat generic) blonde child with blue eyes but Nikolai has adorable Eurasian features. Lol, and his ears always make me laugh.
