H.C. Andersen 2005
Croatia, the Faroe Islands and Denmark meet at the newly refurbished Court Theatre at Christiansborg Palace.
Additionally, two Croatian, one Faroese and three Danish Hans Christian Andersen Ambassadors were appointed. This international team of Hans Christian Andersen Ambassadors was appointed by HRH Prince Joachim of Denmark, who spoke of Hans Christian Andersen and the six new Ambassadors with great enthusiasm. The six new Hans Christian Andersen Ambassadors, who are all to promote the wider awareness and appreciation of the great storyteller and his many fairytales, are Monika Leskovar and Vinko Bresan from Croatia, Eyðun Johannessen from the Faroe Islands, Palle Mikkelborg, Paprika Steen and Jens Okking from Denmark.
Prince Joachim of Denmark will shortly be legally divorced from princess Alexandra. All the same, he is doing his duty - here seen opening a conference for the Agricultural society in Copenhagen.
In most of the covers, the tabloids actually have a photo of the Prince at an official engagement drinking champaigne.
As for his preference in younger women, he's only been allegedly dating 2 younger women so who knows.
Yes, the tabloids and gossipmagazines have more or less only used same 4 or 5 pictures all this time. The picture Alisa mentioned. And a picture of Joachim at a soccermatch, holding a beer in his hand and with a faceexpression as if he was drunk, when infact the faceexpression was because the Danish soccerteam just scored a goal. Then they have used a picture of Joachim dancing in a discoteque with a drink in his hand. But this was manipulated, because Alexandra was also in the original picture, but they appropriately crooped her out of it:-) There is only one picture(that I have seen), where Joachim looks really drunk and talking to a girl.
The most recent story (Nasseprinsen) Ekstra Bladet wrote that Joachim wasn't especially drunk and that he behaved well, only talking to people(guys and girls) that came to him, not the other way arround. The only claim was that Joachim wanted his drinks for free. BT had a simmilar story of that night, allthough thier story was that he only talked to his friends. Only Se & Hør exaggrated the story, but they do that with all thier stories:-)
Se & Hør and Ekstra Bladet have done everything to make Joachim a hateobject in the public eye and make him the scapegoat of the broken marrige. And it looks like they have very much succeeded in doing that.

It's in the interests of the tabloids to put such pictures of Joachim on the cover and make him seem like a philandering playboy. It's what makes readers curious and will buy the magazines, even if they are full of hear say and gossip and fifth hand accounts of Joachim's alleged drunkenness.
Since Joachim and Alexandra have thankfully taken the high road with their divorce and neither has officially said one thing or another about why their marriage ended, the tabloids need to blame someone. Now it's Joachim, but maybe in a few months they'll get tired of the playboy angle and blame Alexandra.

PRINCE JOACHIM TAKES HIS BOYS FOR A BIT OF HORSEPLAY
19 APRIL 2005
The Danish royals don't have quite so strong a reputation as their British counterparts when it comes to equestrian events, but that may change in years to come. While the likes of Zara Phillips and her cousin Harry are famous for their riding skills, it now looks as though Prince Joachim's sons, little Nikolai and Felix, are also budding horsemen.
Denmark's two young princes were pictured getting to grips to with a placid steed at the Levante Horse Show in Copenhagen. The youngsters needed a little help from their father in order to mount the animal, but once in place they seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the experience.
Their doting dad was also relishing the opportunity to spend some quality time with his two little boys. And the outing was further evidence that, despite his recent split from Princess Alexandra, the 35-year-old is determined to give five-year-old Felix and his two-year-old brother a happy childhood.
Joachim and Alexandra decided to go their separate ways six months ago after ten years of marriage. The enormously popular princess still lives in Copenhagen, in a plush villa to the north of the city, which she shares with the children. The divorce was finalised by a court in the capital just a fortnight ago, but the couple remain on good terms and often meet up for family gatherings.

hmmm..from the photos...i'm guessing that ekstra bladet is trying to say something about his wedding ring is not there anymore or sth...ahah....maybe someone can translate the whole thing....
