Or Isabella doing karate It's an awesome sport for girls (two of my own girls have made it to the first brown belts ).
Didn't we read something during the summer that Christian was slowly starting to take riding lessons? Or was it just speculation. Based on their parents' sports interests I would guess that both children would try riding, tennis and sailing of course.

You are correct, UserDane. There was a report from the summer that talks about Prince Christian getting his first pony. He is also learning to ride. I will try to find the link.
Edit: Here it is:

there is that famous clip of Frederik falling off his hourse as a little boy and crying and hiding behind the bushes because he did not want to get back on (and having to by his father, who did not put him back on himself but had a servant do it and with whom he at times had a difficult relationship). Frederik will probably handle the situation "when you fall off a horse you immediately have to get back on" in a gentle way with Christian.

Is that story with Frederik and his father true? What a sad story. When I see pictures of Frederik with his children I see lots of love and tenderness. I can only imagine him as a very tender and committed father who loves his children so much. The bad impact of the loneliness he must have felt as a little boy with a father not be able to show affection and love towards his own son must be immense. No wonder that you never get rid of the feeling that Frederik is among the future regents in Europe the most reluctant one, in conflict with his destiny, if you want to see it that way. Hopefully he will teach Prince Christian with a more confidant awareness to his future role as being the Crown Prince and later the King of Denmark. Ánd hopefully Frederik will be a better role model for Christian than Prince Henrik ever was to Frederik.

Could you possible find this video?
I know Henrik and Margrethe were distant with their children, and I am glad to see Prince Frederik is not the same way with Christian and Isabella.

Billed Bladet has some very sweet photos of Christian, in honor of his 4th birthday:
http://www.billedbladet.dk/Kongelige...204%20aar.aspx
The article says that there will be an early morning song, pastries, and celebrating with his mother and sister. It also says that Christian doesn't seem bothered by the public's attention, and that he is a very happy child.

How beautiful. It's a shame his fathers away. He will grow up to be a wonderful prince.

It was sad that he couldn't be with his father on his birthday, since he is so close with him. But I think that he had a great day. He's such a cutie <3

OMG, they've been so naughty!! he he
Thank you for sharing these pics! The man with the light blue blouse is their grandfather, Mary's father. Does anyone know if he's staying with them now that their parents & grandparents are in Vietnam?

Yes. John Donaldson and his wife, Susan Moody are staying with Prince Christian and Princess Isabella while their parents are on a state visit to Vietnam with Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik. In addition, John Donaldson is teaching in Denmark while he is there.

Really? I haven't seen Mary's mother since the wedding in 2004. Does anyone know if the couple spends a lot of time in Denmark? How often do they visit their daughter?
