I wonder if Fredrik is having a slight "there but for the grace of god go I" moment.

Such a tragic accident. My thoughts and prayers to the victims' families.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #1, 2019.
Written by Trine Larsen, who spend her New Years Eve in central Copenhagen.
At 20.00 sharp QMII arrived at the home of her friends Joen Bille and Bente Scavenius. They live literally around the corner from Amalienborg.
Prior to QMII arriving the other guests arrived and they were basically a list of personal friends of QMII.
Bent Fabricius-Bjerre with his wife, Camilla. (Certainly Mary is very fond of Bent Fabricius-Bjerre.)
Susanne Heering, who like QMII is a relative new widow.
Jesper Bruun Rasmussen and his wife Birthe. (It was from his auction house that Mary bought the tiara, she wore at the New Year Court.)
Marianne Tholstrup.
Dorthe Foss, who is also a widow.
Birgitta and Kjeld Hillingsø. (Their daughter, the actress Ellen Hillingsø, is a close friend of M&F.)
Baron Frederik Iuel Brockdorff and his wife Baroness Anne Rosenørn-Lehn.
The theme for the party was red and black. Inspired by the novel Le Rouge et le Noir, by Stendal.
The last time the party was held here, the gate locked up and couldn't be opened, leaving the Regent Couple in a bit of a limbo.
But this year, some of the other guests held the gate open, just in case, when QMII arrived.
There is no mentioning in BB as to what J&M and M&F did or were on New Years Eve.
But there is plenty to look at in this weeks issue, so feast your eyes on this:

Thanks Muhler! I love the idea of these themed parties, and I'm sure Margrethe does too. She's more than cultured enough to come up with great ideas.

Thanks, Iceflower.
Yes, there was a small deficit last year. Mainly due to PH's funeral and Frederik turning 50. The deficit has been reduced a bit by laying off members of Ph's staff.
However, the equity has as such been reduced a little.
But then there are no major events in sight for some years. Except for QMII turning 80 and Mary turning 50, but that's not to be compared to Frederik's B-day. Not in an official/state context.

What lovely horses, and beautiful photos! I wonder if they have spa days, and get massages?
There actually is equine massage, so that may not be such a far-fetched idea.

The head of the PR for the DRF, Lene Balleby, has talked about the DRF members using Instagram. (With huge success BTW!)
https://www.bt.dk/royale/frederik-og...-noget-der-kan
"We are developing the digital platforms of the DRF all the time and the royal family themselves are a large part of that process.
We have for the past year seen updates images and videos from the royals themselves on the social medias. From the take over of the Crown Prince and question session at the Royal Run to the Crown Princess' own photo-reports from visits in developing countries and latest from the Women Deliver conference in Canada.
Apart from that the CP-family and Prince Joachim and Princess Marie also share day to day moments with own photos and texts.
The DRF wish to be where the Danes are. That's why it's completely natural that the royal family on special occasions communicate directly on the various platforms."
At present the DRF has 321.000 followers on Instagram and 246.000 on Facebook.
- There is also a communications expert mentioned in the article, but since I believe we are all experts in social medias and your opinion is just as good as his, I have omitted quoting his otherwise positive review.

As some of you may have noticed I have fallen a little behind with the BB scans lately and also the summaries.
Alas, each time I tried to catch up a 40 man brass band surrounded our house and disturbed me... But now, I have finally finished the scans - almost.
You will find the mags I have scanned but not published here below.
As for the summaries. Take a look at the scans and if there is an article you'd really like to read a summary of, just let me know.
But let us start with this, pretty remarkable, story.
Summary of article in Billed Bladet #29, 2019.
Writen by Lisbeth Grube.
The personality and dedicated royalist, Jim Lyngvild, has started a project for an exhibition next year on the occasion of QMII turning 80. A four meter high bust of QMII!
Right now he is putting the finishing touches on a 3D model, which will be recreated in full size. (See scans.)
A bust does not smile, points out Jim Lyngvild.
There will be additional 100 busts made from glassfiber, about 70 cm tall, that will be sold for charity.
Apart from that Jim Lyngvild has also made 107 "official" portraits of all QMII's ancestors, and their queens. The models have all been found on Facebook, in order to find someone with the closest resemblance to what we know the previous looked like. All thes portraits, including one of QMII as a young woman, will be published in a book, also by Jim Lyngvild.
He has studied hundreds of photos of QMII (he's a huge fan of her) in order to find just the right expression for the bust:
"It's difficult, because all people have a favorite Margrethe. As an icon she is all ages. We want to get a time-less expression with as great a respect for a totally magical woman as at all possible.
With the bust I have automatically placed my behind in slapping-height, because people have such a love for that woman. But it will be my tribute to the Majesty.
And it's so fun to work on making it happen, that I together with Joachim will also reproduce her oldest son and daughter-in-law." (No further details in the article about that co-operation.)
The book about all Danish Monarchs will be published on 1. October.
"It's the first time in danish history that such a book is being made. Previously there have only been books about the kings and not their wives (formal word), who takes up just as much space in history."
Being a successful designer, he has ensured that the models wear costumes that were in line with period they lived in.

- Wonder what QMII is going to think about all that!

Do you remember the bust of QMII I wrote about in the last post?
I will be made and it will be five meters tall. - Made from styrofoam.
I did wonder how the (albeit affluent) super-royalist Jim Lyngvild would finance it and build it that quick if it was made from stone or bronze.
And I would so much like to see QMII's first reaction to this... eh... genuine praise of her.
I have a strong suspicion that PH would have absolutely loved such a bust - also of himself. There was nothing wrong with his sense of humor.
And now the big question is: Will QMII come to see the exhibition and the bust?
Will other members of the DRF? Perhaps especially Frederik who has a keen interest in contemporary art.

Apart from the huge bust in styrofoam, there will also be 300 copies made from glassfiber put up for sale. They are 70 centimeters tall. They cost an impressive 2.000 DKK - the proceeds will go to a charity under the protection of QMII.
So far more than 200 busts have been sold.
They will be shipped in early December - just in time for Christmas.

Indeed, will be interesting to see what QMII think herself about this piece. Glad to hear the preparations for her 80th birthday is underway, and we could expect vast celebrations as usual!
