Thanks Roskilde for taking the time to tell us that. I have always liked Prince Henrik he is a jolly fellow and a good support to HM. Must be a difficult role for a Prince Consort but he and the Duke of Edinburgh have done well over the years and have allowed their unique personalities to shine thru as well. [thru my own spelling]

Thank you Roskilde
danish is indeed hard to learn, but i appreciate all the efforts done to "fill us in"
And indeed, it does look like Frederik and Mary are taking over more and more

Summaries of article in Billed Bladet #2, 2014.
Written by Ulrik Ulriksen.
The Regent Couple went north to the "Whiskey-Belt", i.e. a very posh neighborhood north of Copenhagen, to the home of Nils and Dorte Foss.
As always everone was dressed up and the theme this New Years Eve was "By the beach". QMII showed up draped in a fishing net a sea-blue dress, silver-weed in her hair and an amber necklace.
Prince Henrik was dressed up as...well, in fact I'm not sure what he was dressed up as and it appears Ulrik Ulriksen isn't either because he hasn't ventured a guess in the article. Suffice to say PH wore a lagre sun hat, but the image is somewhat spoiled as he was at the same time wearing a long fur-coat.
Among the names at the party were the usual very close friends: Keld and Birgitte Hillingsøe, Susanne Heering and also Bent Fabricius Bjerre.
Mary and Frederik celebrated New Year at the hunting lodge in Trend. In fact they had set up a party-tent outside the lodge for their guests.
Their guests counted:
Peter and Caroline Heering.
Ellen Hillingsøe and Christoffer Carstenschiold.
Rikke and Michael Juul Brandt.
Jørgen and Malou Skeel.
Food was delivered a couple of hour before the party and before darkness set in (and it's darker than in the behind of a coalminer around Trend) the party went for a stroll in the woods.
It was slightly more dramatic at Amalienborg where Joachim and our Marie were the hosts of the New Year party.
Four couples had been invited, as well and Nikolai and Felix.
The friends were:
Peter and Henriette Steenstrup.
Christian and Agnete Scherfig.
Charlotte Sparre and Jens Wittrup Willumsen.
Agathe and Anaury Silvestre from France.
- the couples also brought their children.
There was a good deal of fireworks from the backgarden pretty early on in the evening, presumably for the benefit of the children present.
The adults fired away at midnight.
Around 00:30 three fire engines rushed into the square. The guards turned out in arms and Joachim went down to meet the firefighters.
After a brief check it was determined that it was a false alarm and Joachim could join the party.

It certainly does look like M&F enjoy this place. It looks perfect for an active outdoor family, and it looks like they get a great amount of privacy there

BT quotes the magazine Her & Nu: Per Pallesen faldt om til fest med kronprinsparret - Kendte | www.bt.dk
In which it is mentioned that M&F together with Joachim and our Marie, last weekend took part in a 60th birthday at a restaurant in Copenhagen.
At this party, one of the participants, an actor fell ill and had to be taken away by ambulance. He's fine.
The birthday child was Anna Kjølbye, who is marrid to the chairman of the board at Mærsk, Michael Pram Rasmussen, and my guess is that it's through him M&F and M&J know her and attended her birthday. Because I can't recall having heard about her before in connection with the DRF.

Hope this is the right thread to post this...
The Danish newspaper EB claims to know that Queen Margrethe and Prince Consort Henrik will fly to Herning tomorrow afternoon to support our handball players at tomorrows final match in the European Handball Championship.
While Frederik attended the European Handball Championship opening match for about 2 weeks ago the newspaper claims to know that Frederik and Mary unfortunately is unable to attend the final match tomorrow. Both Frederik and Mary are otherwise always loyal supporters on the sidelines to our handball finale matchs. Perhaps the embarrassing final match last year in Spain has frightened Mary away?
The newspapers also claims to know that Margrethe and Henrik maybe will bring some of their grandchildren with them. But nothing is published from the Court yet.

that would be great to see the Queen and Henrik with some of the grand-kids; maybe the oldest, Nikolai, Felix?
I would have assume Frederik would want to be at the final
But good luck to the Danish team. I was able to watch the semi-final online (what can i say, slow day at work lol ).

I think QMII and Henrik might bring the four oldest - Nikolai, Felix, Christian and Isabella. The boys at least, I don't know how interesting a long handball match would be for a six year old.
Frederik must be so gutted not to be able to attend. He loves being there to support Denmark at important sport matches. Mary is also a keen supporter of the various Danish teams. I wonder what they're doing - as far as I can see on the website nothing is planned for them.

On this day of grief...
Here is another update from BB: Dronning Margrethe trøstede de danske sølvdrenge | Billed Bladet
The Regent Couple went to the dressing room of the Danish team and offered a few words of comfort, I presume.
However, they also went to the French dressing room and congratulated the winners.
On TV2, QMII confided to us viewers that she had mainly followed the exploits of the Danish handball team in the newspapers, but they had also seen a bit on TV.
QMII was incidentally also asked whether she could name a favourite among the Danish players. QMII admitted that she wasn't the best at remembering the names of the players and there was no need to single out anyone in particular.
To the last question you could almost see a thought-bubble above her head saying "Good grief!! Can't they come up with better questions?" One of the players, (don't know who BTW) is labelled "his majesty" whenever he scores and did she mind the title being borrowed? QMII patiently answered that it was a very amusing.
- The sad thing is that this wasn't a sports-journalist (they can ask the weirdest questions!) but a seasoned TV-anchor TV2 had dispatched to the finals to get a mood-report.
