Yes, I might add some scans later on, so you can have a closer view. Even though Roskilde has already provided a view.
The caption reads that 2014 was the year Prince Richard turned 80 and Princess Benedikte 70.
The picture was taken in front of one of the fireplaces at Schloss Berleburg. - Possibly during one of the birthday celebrations.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #2, 2015.
Written by the omnipresent Ulrik Ulriksen.

The Regent Couple as usual celebrated New Year with a number of very close friends. This year Kjeld Hillingsøe was the host.
The theme this year was the Aranbian fairytale/stories 1010 Nights. QMII arrived dressed like Sheherazade or Gulnare - or perhaps Jeanie... - Albeit with glasses and a heavy fur coat...
Other guests present were Bente Scavenius, Joen Bille, Susanne Heering, Birthe and Jesper Bruun Rasmussen, Bent Fabricius Bjerre, Nils and Dorte Foss, Camilla Arndt Frederik Iuel-brockdorff and Ane Rosenørn-Lehn. (There are several noble names among them).

QMII gave her New Year speech live, then dressed before driving to the northern parts of Copenhagen. So they must have arrived at earliest around 19.30 or so. The Regent Couple stayed on until 02.00.

There is no mentioning of where M&F and Joachim ad our Marie celebrated New Year, but I guess even the Ulrik Ulriksen can't be in several places at the same time.

BB has a lot of coverage of the first New Year court, the DRF Christmas cards and and not least Christmas at Fredensborg.
So instead of posting individual links all over the place I've decided to keep it simple stupid this week. Here you go: https://app.box.com/s/ez9f89tsknnif12ccr6q

BT have made their annual Gallup survey on the popularity of the Danish royal family. It' quite stable year after year. This year, the members have dived a bit from last year, but no more than, for example in 2013. And notes BT has made this study in the days after their exaggerated coverage of a certain trip across a bridge and that both December and January have been some very quiet months for the entire Danish royal family. In general, the Danish royal family - and especially the Crown Prince Couple Frederik and Mary and Queen Margrethe are incredibly well-liked among the population. Mary is still the member the Danes think represent the Danish royal family best with Margrethe and Frederik following close behind.

This year, the study with the question "How do you think X represents the Royal Family on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being the highest" showed:

1. Crown Princess Mary scores 4.4 (4.7)
2. Queen Margrethe scores 4.2 (4.5)
3. Crown Prince Frederik scores 4.1 (4.5)

4. Prince Henrik scores 3.4 (3.6)
5. Princess Marie scores 3.4 (3.3)
6. Prince Joachim scores 2.9 (3.0)

Cool
this survey and the recent one that shows 85% of Danes finding Frederik worthy to be King, I would say the DRF are in good position.

Cute note, that the wives rank higher than their respective husbands. Mary more than Frederik (not by much though), Margrethe over Henrik and Marie over Joachim.
I think the DRF men need to up their fashion game to draw more attention

Yep, they should start wearing dresses - or perhaps more flamboyant outfits a lá PH.

The Se & Hør affair continues quietly.

Here is an economic analasys of the Aller publishing house which is dominating the Scandinavian market in regards to weekly magazines.
From Business.dk: Økonomisk øretæve til Aller - Media | www.business.dk

In short: It's bad! The publishing house has ended up with a deficit of 60 million DKK for 2014. The expectations was a surplus for some 100 million DKK.
That's a staggering drop of 180 million DKK from 2013!

The article does not mention the Se & Hør scandal as a major contributing factor, but rather hints that the market for weeklies may have been influenced as a result of the scandal.
The major cause must be contributed to the fact that the market for weeklies has dropped with some 8% - and presumably that the financial crisis hasn't yet been overcome.

-------

- I would say that the fierce competition online in regards to gossip, royalty, general news, interviews and features, that are available instantly and most often free is the most important reason for the deficit.
And the dirt that has smeared the entire world of journalism and especially weeklies here in DK hasn't exactly meant that people have become more willing to buy the magazines.

Yes I agree with you Muhler. Magazines [some]are in real danger of fading out altogether as they have printed so many tall headlines & stories for so long no one believes anything they say any more. With the internet now it is easier for the reader to find better photos and the real truth about a story.

DR1 quotes the CEO at Aller, Pål Thore Krosby, for saying: "It's obvious that the Se & Hør affair - both in connection with the direct costs and the influence the affair has had over a longer period for the whole organization - naturally has had a major effect on this years result".

An international survey by YouGov, where people in a number of countries were asked to choose the one they admire most among a number of slected men and women.
This is the Danish result: Se de 20 navne på listen: Her er de personer, danskerne beundrer mest | www.bt.dk
Among the men Frederik comes in second and among the women QMII comes second and Mary comes first.

How serious the survey is is of course questionable.

Thanks Muhler,
BT often use Yougove IIRC, but... Well, in any case a great results. Frederik, Mary and Margrethe is a very strong trio for our Royal Family and it's my clear perception they are three of Denmark's most respected persons, as we also can see in the Gallup surveys (the last less than two weeks ago posted in this thread...)

*

I had actually forgotten, but now this got my thoughts back to it. Her&Nu has this week made a survey about who there's working most in the Danish royal family. (Not a trustworthy magazine, but this study is simply made by they have counted month by month through last year 2014 so...) It of cause means it's based solely on the official events written in the royal calendar. (For example we see that Frederik has been on a weeklong business visits in Silicon Valley without it was written in the calendar as we also see pictures of Mary's work behind the scenes on Facebook which isn't written in the calendar as well, and I'm sure it's the same with the rest of the members in our royal family)

Here's the result:
https://scontent-a-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/...c5&oe=555DD7CF

1. Margrethe with 159 events
2. Frederik with 139 events
3. Mary with 112 events
4. Henrik with 85 events
5. Benedikte with 79 events
6. Joachim with 70 events
7. Marie with 58 events

Not surprisingly that Margrethe, Frederik and Mary are the top 3.
Interestingly to see Benedikte so high up at the list and with more official events than Joachim and Marie. She doesn't always get that recognition.

thanks Roskilde
a good look overall, but we know they miss so much more events that Frederik and Mary do.
Like the Silicon Valley trip, at least one event per day
other houses, include every meeting in their agenda but in this case we are just to assume.

Im surprised by Benedikte over Joachim , but maybe this will change now that Joachim doesnt have to work on his estate

Here is a chart on the YouGov poll
Denmark's most admired
http://cdn.yougov.com/cumulus_upload...%202015-13.png

nice that the monarch and her heir (plus his wife) make the list

here is Sweden's list, Victoria is the only royal that makes the list
http://cdn.yougov.com/cumulus_upload...%202015-14.png

In Norway, only the king

Thanks, Polyesco for the details.

Not surprised to see that QEII is so admired in UK, a bit surprised though that the PoW didn't make the list.

Nice to see that Mary had a fairly comfortable lead in DK. And I think it says a lot about the DRF's general standing in DK that they have no less than three members on the list - and in the top of the list that is!

Agree. When doing the list its nice that the Danes have their own monarch and the heirs in mind. shows good support for the future too.
Not surprised that Victoria is the only royal member that makes the list for Sweden, In Norway I thought Haakon might have made it....

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #10, 2015.
Written by Dorte Quist.

BB has an article about the dogs within the DRF.

The Regent Couple:
Predominantly dachshunds. Right now there are Helike and Rosina.
And they have a great life!
They wear designer collars and the eat from ceramics bowls made by QMII.
At night they sleep in a basket in PH's room and are allowed to jump up to "papa" in the bed in the morning.
These days they are seeing a dog-therapist twice a week, who will attempt to teach the willful dogs how to behave in public... (Like with most dogs I'd claim that it's the owners who need training rather than the dogs).
The most loved dachshund must be the late Balthasar, about whom PH has said: "The best, the sweetest, that was in fact also the one most endeared by the public. The one my sons named Rigshunden = the Dog of the Realm. He was funny and very solemn. A great pesonality. I will go as far as to say that he must be one of the most well-known figures in the DRF in history".
Once the dogs die they are buried at Fredensborg, complete with a little headstone and flowers are often placed at their graves.
(The RC also had a Greenlandic dog once but that was put down after it mauled one of the guards).

Mary and Frederik:
They still have their Ziggy, a bordercollie. Ziggy is now ten years old. Ziggy is often seen accompanying her family without a leash. (That's legal in most public places in DK, provided the dog is under full control of the owner).

Joachim and our Marie:
Marie still has her Bichon Frise, Apple. A Bichon Fris is ideal for people who have allergy as it hardly drops its fur. (Not sure what the English expression is). Joachim and bette Henrik both suffer from allergy.

Alexandra, Nikolai and Felix.
Alexandra brought a Cocker Spaniel with her from Hong Kong, Oscar.
But Oscar has now gone to the Eternal Lamppost in the Sky, so now his son, Winston, has taken over.
On top of that they also have a French bulldog, Lily. Who appears to be very much Nikolai and Felix' dog.

But the Berleburgs are also very much into dogs!
Prince Richard have three black Labradors. Being very well suited for hunting, that's hardly a surprise
The three Labradors are shared with Prince Gustav.
Carina Axelsson also has a dog. A Field-Spaniel named Zadie. And according to an Instagram post by Carina, she is apparently often going for a morning walk with the Spaniel as well as the Labradors, without leash.
And if that wasn't enough, Princess Nathalie also has a black Labrador, Alice, who is now five years old.
But also Princess Alexandra has a dog of a breed and name that BB doesn't seem to know.

The Greeks also have dogs.
Well, King Konstantin and Queen Anne-Marie don't, but some of their children do.
Crown Prince Pavlos and Marie-Chantal:
They have no less than five dogs and a holiday dog that lives permanently at their house on the Bahamas.
They have two Vizlas, two French Bulldogs and an Pomeranian.

Prince Nikolaos and Princess Tatiana:
They have adopted a dog that was found inside a plastic bag dumped in a bin in Athens. The dog named Dakos, is the first dog Tatiana has had.

Marie-Olympia got a French Bulldog a year ago.

The very good friend of the DRF, Peter Heering, died a few days ago and today he was buried:

Here is a clip of M&F arriving to the church: Likør-konge bisættes: I dag tager de royale afsked med nær ven | Likør-konge bisættes: I dag tager de royale afsked med nær ven - Royale | www.bt.dk

QMII, Benedikte and Joachim were there as well.

I'm surprised not seeing PC Henrik there. He was probably prevented for a reason.

You may remember Peter Heering from gatherings at the DRF. At Margrethe and Henrik's annual New Year celebrations. Peter and Susanne Heering has long been close friends with the The Royal Couple. You may better recognize the son Peter (Junior) Heering and wife Caroline Heering who is close friends with Frederik and Mary.
