I don't like this program. That on TV2 is usually much better.

Well, BB have no reports from the DRF Christmas this week. In fact all articles seems to have been written before the Christmas holiday.
So I will only mention a few trivia and a little about what will happen next year. All written by Ulrik Ulriksen who appears to have been the only royal reporter at work this Christmas.
Mary attended the birthday of Caroline Fleming's daughter Josephine in Copenhagen. Perhaps at the posh hotel D'Angleterre.
The New Year Courts will also this year take place at Amalienborg, but not at the mansion of the Regent Couple, which is being renovated, but instead at the mansion used mainly as guest mansion for VIP guests.
QMII will celebrate 75 next year and that will be celebrated officially first in Aarhus, during Easter while the Regent Couple (RC) stay at Marselisborg.
And later on at QMII's birthday in Copenhagen. There will be plenty of gala robes and bling!
King Konstantin turn 75 a little later and that is expected to be celebrated in Greece, although probably pretty low-key.
Princess Nathalie will turn 40 and Princess Alexia will turn 50, so there will be additional birthday parties for the family.
Another main event will be the Dutch statevisit, and as both QMII and Queen Maxima are fond of vivid colors, that'll be spectacular!
M&F and children will go on their yearly winter holiday in Switzerland in week #7, and so will J&M but not in the same area.
Apart from that they are expected to have a prominent role in connection with the Dutch state visit.
Mary is expected to attend several meetings next year at the UN.
Frederik is expected to take part in the Vasa run in March.
BB also expects at least M&F to attend the wedding in Sweden next summer.
Mary will most likely go to Tasmania for the 125th anniversary of the University of Tasmania. (As that is right after the school holidays, I doubt Christian and Bella will go with her).
Nikolai may start at high school next year, and whether he will stay at Herlufsholm or go to another high school remains to be seen.
Bette Henrik will start in 0 grade next year and BB think it likely that he will start at Krebs School where Felix is going.
And while better Henrik moves out of the kindergarten, he makes room for his kidsister to take his place, because that will be her first year in kindergarten. So far she has attended the nursery right next to her brother (and two cousins, Josephine and Vincent's kindergarten).
At the same time Joachim ad our Maire will move in at their new home, because since they took over the house in October craftsmen have been busy working on the house. (Interesting, since the house was newly renovated. So I guess they live at Amalienborg these days. Perhaps they will celebrate New Year with M&F in teir home?)

The New Year Courts never take place at the mansion of the Queen (Christian IX's Palace), do they? Don't they always take place at Christian VII's Palace?
The arrival of the members of the Danish Royal Family on New Year's Day is always such a good and very royal beginning of the new year.

You are right. I looked at the wrong paragraph while writing my summary.
It's the balcony scene on QMII's birthday that will be moved to Christian VII's mansion due to the renovations of the RC's mansion. The courts take place in Christian VII's mansion as usual.
That's the great thing with a royal board there are always someone who can point out mistakes.

Well, now I must be at Amalienborg for QMII's birthday this year. Isn't this the first time there has been a change of balcony/mansion for her birthday? Can't miss out on that

I definitely agree with you. And I generally find DR's programmes about the royal family to be much more informative and interesting than TV2's. TV2 has a tendency to fill their programmes with silliness.

I never realised the New Year courts took place in Amalienborg, doesn't that make all the arrivals by car a bit of an unnecessary show of they are only heading over the street?

It's a combination of arriving in style and practicality.
IMO it would look less than dignified to have royals in full regalia strolling across a square. - Not least during winter with biting cold and wind. Let alone through sleet, snow or pools of rain.
Apart from that high heels and cobblestones don't match.

Indeed! They all make a grand entrance this way, like they should. Nothing beats the Danes!
I was at Amalienborg in 2012, when the Royal Family appeared on the balcony because of the Queen celebrating 40 years on the throne. I saw indeed many cars driving from the various mansions of Amalienborg to Christian IX's Palace. :-)

Exactly TV2 fills the programmes about the royals with smalltalk and music and not much facts.

I have so much cloths on me !!!I was thinking how the heck Mary does when she goes to engagments1 always high hills and well dress! I had yesterday a pair of cozy boots, flats, and going down the stairs it was snow, I slide and fall! so my goodness how the do in normal engagments and in the new year court ! with all this gowns!!!!??????

While waiting for the next New Year court and the coverage of the DRF Christmas as well as New Year parties, I thought we might take a stroll to past New Years Eves with in particular the Regent Couple, who always celebrate with a number of close friends and they always dress up according to a theme. Needless to say that's something QMII do very enthusiastically!
https://app.box.com/s/qfxgaswyv7gkoto0x4ff - The theme that year being: Bridge.
https://app.box.com/s/j0zf4s9t7xjkh0bqr72f - When the RC are the hosts at Amalienborg PH is among the menfolks who rush down to the square to light some serious fireworks!
https://app.box.com/s/uxyka7jo2n492u7qic57 - The theme here being: At the beach.
https://app.box.com/s/bkb70udlkbwylfh1ootp - The younger ones don't seem to dress up though.
https://app.box.com/s/u8zeqa3ly8ymlbatbbew - The themes here being: Peter Pan, and bottom: Magic.
M&F appears to like to go to their special retreat at Trend during New Year.

I love this year's card. I knew they would use a picture from the Greenland tour, Im just glad that they used a new photo from this trip.
Love the Greenland landscape in the back, that they are in the national outfits, on the Danneborg.

Sejr til politiet i Se og Hør-sagen: Nu får de adgang til ni millioner mails - Krimi | www.bt.dk
The Se & Hør case can finally continue to be investigated in full. The supreme court has rules against the Aller Publishing House, who refused to release e-mails to the police on ground of protecting sources.
The Supreme Court has ruled that protection of sources does not take precedence over a criminal investigation into such serious cases.
So a representative from the court will be present when the police shifts through the material to select what they find interesting for further investigation.
Until now the e-mail records have been kept in a sealed room.
