And I feel I must correct you, dear Polyesco. Joachim's pants are not pink, obviously it's merely the neon lights that that give his pants a light reddish hue.

It´s tights (strømpebukser), Muhler
And by the pattern I´m guessing that they are made by Caroline Fleming, but I´m not sure at all about that...

That's correct.
You can read more about it under the DRF finances and income.

This is pretty interesting!
Count Ingolf turns 75 today and on that occasion he has given an interview to Jyllands Posten that I haven't read yet.
A part of that interview is about Schackenborg.
Count Ingolf lives in a manor in Jutland where he by all accounts thrive. J&M with Joachim perhaps in particular have been pretty close to Count Ingolf.
That's why this quote from the interview is interesting: Bare fordi prinsessen ikke bryder sig om at bo på landet.
- "... Just because the Princess doesn't care for living in the countryside. Neither did Alexandra, but it is a pity, because it meant a lot to that part of the country to have a part of the royal family close by. And that also means that the family, the Queen and the Prince Consort no longer drop by around there".
- Count Ingolf no doubt voice a common opinion of the Southern Jutlanders, but his position give his words more credit. (Even if he wouldn't have been privy to the economic situation and private councils of J&M).
No matter how close to the real truth he is, I think it's safe to conclude that Count Ingolf does no agree with the sale of Shackenborg.

thanks.
It seems he is hinting that Marie did not like living in the countryside?
I agree to a point that it was nice to have the DRF in that part. More spread around.

That cannot be Joachim. We don't see his face and the pants together, so...
Gentlemen don't wear pink pants, Joachim is a perfect gentleman, ergo it ain't Joachim. I rest my case.

Should you ever find a picture of Joachim wearing pink pants, there would be a perfectly rational explanation.

You see I know the whole background story from, shall we say "undisclosed sources".
You see on the way to the party Joachim and our Marie found the street blocked by a 40 man brass band. And as Joachim naturally is a very cultured man and as such very fond of music, the... sound emissions... from the horns took ham aback, literally, and he fell, thereby staining his otherwise immaculate pants.
Now, Joachim being a perfect gentleman cannot, simply cannot, go to a party unless his attire is in perfect order. That would be unthinkable! So he and our Marie rushed back to Amalienborg to change. Alas, pranksters led by Oscar Siesbye had cut up all Joachim's spare pants, so he had nothing to wear. Fortunately Marie was quick thinking and suggested Joachim could borrow a pair of pants from Frederik. (M&F were still in Sweden as you may recall). So Marie rushed over the square to M&F's mansion where Frederik's valet was at work. And he was naturally willing to help. Alas Frederik only has pink pants, so Joachim was, most reluctantly, forced to wear reddish pants at this occasion. Because for a perfect Gentleman like Joachim cancelling is not an option. - So as you see, this exception from Joachim's normal appearance was perfectly excusable.
