I only just saw the new pics of the little princess and the family. Oh, she is precious! Such a little cutie pie. I don't know why but for some reason I'm thinking of her greatgrandmother Ingrid... I hope she receives a beautiful name too.
Edit: Just noticed Joachim is wearing a blue shirt with the red pants. He as well?! Is it some kind of secret uniform between the brothers or what is it with these colour choices...
|
I also noticed the colour choices that, by the way, are not just limited to the brothers but also extend to HM Queen Margarethe and her husband. When the twins were born, it was quite stunning that the Regent couple visited the hospital wearing blue and pink! The colour code theory is one that I am following closely! For Muhler, thank you for your translations!

One thing I have just realized, looking at a gallery of Jo and Marie, that Prince Jo and Princess Marie are the busiest second in line royal I know. The Swedes, Norweg, Belgian, 2nd son/daughter of monarch are nowhere near the engagments and traveling and representing their countries like Jo&Marie do. The only ones who compare are the Wessexs of the UK,+Prince Andrew and Princess Anne. Wow, good for them. The Dutch RF are somewhere in the middle.

BB is bringing an excerpt from an article about our Marie in Søndag, a magazine mainly for women: Billed-Bladet - Prinsesse Marie
A gallery, also from Søndag: Prinsesse Marie i brudekjole og arbejdstøj - se billederne her! - Prinsesse Marie i arbejdstøjet - - Sondag
(There is also a link to a gallery of Mary. I don't know if that gallery has been posted before. If not I'll leave that to someone else ).
The author of the article, Britta Bjerre, says:
She was 31 years old when she in October 2007 were officially presented ad Prince Joachim's fiancee. Today she is 36, mother of two. There is "something" about her charisma/what she radiate. Or rather there has come "something more". A kind of maturity, which isn't just about being five years older and have had two children, but perhaps rather an image of how it looks when you find yourself in the life that is lying there and calling for you.
Married they were (*) on the 24th May 2008 in Møgeltønder Church. But this year it's actually ten years ago Marie and Joachim saw each other for the first time.
Marie was single back then. Joachim was married. She was in a ford in her life. He was also in a kind of ford, if that's what you can call a marriage that were later to break up. There was nothing else between them at that hunting party than good chemistry.
But as Marie put it so beautifully in the first big interview the couple gave after the engagement:
"It was almost like a sign, or at least a very odd coincidence that were were to meet during that period. How else should you think?
Only when Joachim a couple of years later is on the way out of his marriage, does he seek up Marie again. The rest of the story is well known: A danish couple on holiday in Avignon in France spotted Prince Joachim, who stood pretty close with a pretty brunette. The couple snapped away with the camera and send the picture home to Se & Hør.
How Marie will choose to be used and use herself in the future will be exciting to follow.
The DRF and other royals are featured pretty well on SØNDAG online - gode råd er gratis | SØNDAG - køb det mandag - Sondag Our resident newsdiggers may wish to do some exploring.
(*) No mistake. Litteral translation.

A minor correction, Dazzling
The Danish word "moden" has several meanings.
- The fashion.
- Ripe.
- Mature.
In this context it means mature.
It is of course meant to confuse foreigners as much as possible...

Tha Dannebrog has entered Copenhagen's harbor and it's about to dock if you are in the area! I wonder if Prince Joachim and Princess Marie are still on board and if there are going to be pictures.
(It's almost in front of the Little Mermaid's statue now)

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #33, 2012.
Marie alene i byen - Marie to town on her own.
Written by Karina Didriksen.
Well, our Marie didn't go that far away, only a few hundred meters down the street from Amalienborg in fact, to the Ole Yde fashion show. Here she arrived in style in one of the crown cars as befits a princess.
The show started at 18.00 and la belle Marie left about an hour later as one of the last because she was busy chatting with other guests.
Christian Scherfig (*) escorted Marie out the door with her arm under his and he naturally carried her goodiebags. (**)
Marie carried a clutch from Bottega Veneta (***) and chatted briefly with our reporter: "It was a fantastic show, it really was.
I think Ole Yde is very skilled.
I always find inspiration (at such shows) and it's always good to see what is up in Denmark".
Earlier that day bette Henrik had been observed with his nanny in Amaliegarden (the small park between Amalienborg and the quay). Here he laughingly tried to run away from his nanny, but she was too fast.
(*) Is he related to the author?
(**) Joachim is gentleman, ergo his friends are gentlemen.
(***) Interest in royalty is educational. Now I know such bags are called clutches. - Aaaand I've learned that Mrs. Muhler has at least five such clutches (I stopped counting).... And a well developed bag-fetish....

Looks like Princess Marie has either a personal trainer or a very sportive bodyguard:
They were pictured near Amalienborg Palace prior or after a jogging round on August 23, 2012. Nice to see:

I'm 99% sure he's not from PET.
The PET officers are armed, he isn't.

But notice the guardsman in the background.
I guess some tourists would have been pussled as to why they suddenly present arms.

Thanks, marta19pl! I've clicked on four or five other pics but not on the first one
Being photographed with Princess Marie is of course the best promotion he can get - and that for free!

Yes, thanks for the heads-up, Marta19pl.
What is delightful for me to see is that our Marie, and Mary too, can walk out of a door in the middle of a crowded Amalienborg Square and hardly being noticed at all.
Despite being accompanied by a pretty conspicious guy, no one in the background that I have noticed even glance at her.
May it remain so for many, many more years.

Those pictures are interesting I wonder if Marie or the trainer were aware they were beig photographed?
Good for Marie if she can go unnoticed through the very centre of town.
