Summary of article in Billed Bladet #49, 2017.

Josephine attends a ballet-school in central Copenhagen, and the children had prepared a performance last Sunday.
At the dress rehearsal Saturday M&F and Isabella were present. - After the performance all applauded, Isabella in particular. She also did a few steps on her own when she got up from her seat and it was time to go home.

You know that M&F attended a ceremony in Copenhagen Cathedral celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation on Sunday, so they could not see Josephine and the other children's performance that day. However, her other siblings and a nanny were there.

Josephine was dressed in a yellow suit with a crown on her head. With floating movements of the arms, she and the other children danced away.
They were of course applauded enthusiastically and Josephine and the girls she danced with were seen hugging each other after their show.

- It seems pretty clear to me, that either someone in connection with BB was there on both days. (Which is not unlikely, journalists have children and nieces and grandchildren too)
Or someone was there and talked in detail with a BB reporter afterwards. (Which is very likely)
Or someone captured the whole thing on the mobile and showed it to a BB reporter. (Which is also likely).

- The DK press have rarely shown any photos and videos of the DRF children when in semi-private situations like this, unless being given permission by the DRF. But there must be many photos and videos of the children that simply haven't been shown in public and probably never will.
So I think this is as much as we will ever "see" of the DRF children when they are not on the job with their parents. While they are still children.
The laws on privacy are strict here in DK, especially in regards to children and any media showing footage or pics of the DRF children in situations resembling private situations, will lose hands down in a conflict with the DRF, both in court, at the press-ethics board and not least in the eyes of the public.

And rightly so! Glad that the royal children have protection from prying eyes and that they can enjoy a fairly normal life! Great that Danish parents do not sell pictures to tabloids as is the case elsewhere!:bang::eek:Bravo Denmark and thank you Muhler:flowers:

It is unfortunately a well known fact that DK tabloids and magazines are often approached by people who want to sell info, pics or vids of celebs or the DRF. But they are rarely published. - Not because the magazine editors are such nice and decent people, but because of the legislation.

Well they arrived on a beautiful day weather wise Muhler.

It's currently just gone 2 o'clock in the afternoon here in Sydney and the Harbour is blue and the sky clear.

Footage of them will probably be on the 3.00pm news, so that may turn up on the internet soon.

Footage and report on Mary and Frederik sailing in today's race now being broadcast nationally on Channel Nine's afternoon news.

Media are speculating Frederik will be aboard when "Wild Oats XI" sails in this year's Sydney to Hobart. (Caroline's son Pierre has done it.)

Good footage and some comments from Mary and Frederik just shown on Channel Ten early evening news.

Frederik won't be involved in this year's Sydney to Hobart.

Mary said they left Denmark in minus two degrees temperature, and the change was a bit of a shock to the system

Well one thing I noticed is that Frederik is very scruffy looking and he is still a very handsome man, scruffy and all.....
 
Mary and Frederik look so happy to be back. Mary is just beaming with joy in every single picture at today’s race :wub: Lovely for her to come home and visit her family and friends. It is not often she has the opportunity to do that.

And yes they left in minus degrees. We have woken up to snow here in cold Denmark. Lucky CP-family. 30 degrees and fully sun.

Wonderful pictures and a good way to see Frederik, Mary and children have arrived safely in Australia. Now I guess they are continuing on to their private visit. I wish them a wonderful family visit.

I hope we get to see some photos of the children in Australia from the official facebook and instagram accounts, if not from the media.

I certainly do not hope we get pictures of the family from the media. It is a private family Christmas and it is rare F&M and children have private travels. Now we have already got all those lovely pictures from the race today. I pray to God the press will let them have most of their time in peace. All human being need that.

And I'm 100 percent sure Mary will post a picture or two, or three, from their Christmas in Australian at their official Facebook or Instagram. She is always kind to do that :flowers:

Perhaps in that case it would be beter to not announce it that they are in Australie. the Ducht Rf is also often in Argentinia over Christmas but it is never announced and there are also no pics.
Are there already school holidays in Den mark or have they taken the children out of School earlier?

This is only their second Christmas away from Denmark, so it makes sense to have an announcement
 
The Dutch royal family organizes a photo call anytime they are in Argentina for Christmas (every other year as well), so there are lots of pictures. Officially the photo call is organized for the Argentinian press in the hopes of being left alone afterwards.

Furthermore, queen Máxima has been photographed many times on short private visits. So, not announcing doesn't seem to be a solution.

What about their previous december trips to Australia? Are you saying that they always returned before Christmas?

As far as I know yes. I might be wrong but 2015 was the first Christmas in Australia. :flowers:

Yes.

This is the second time that they spend part of December just privately in Australia. The other visits in November/December have been official visits for most parts.

I think this is the second time in 17 years that Mary (and her family) gets to spend Christmas with her family in Australia.
 
Thanks for the confirmation! I couldn't remember and assumed that they stayed for Christmas in previous years as well.

BB writes today that one major and traditional event in Australia is the sailing-race from Sydney to Hobart. And M&F intends to follow that race, especially because one of the boats are owned by a friend of M&F, Sandy Oats. The race will take place on the 26th.

- I know modern sail-boats are fast, but surely it will take a couple of days to get to Hobart?

:previous: Nice to see the family enjoying Australia - I particularly like this photo of little Josephine as it really captures her fun-loving personality. I'm guessing that the woman with blonde hair is a friend or the children's nanny?
 
Both Mary and Frederik were injured in the surf.

Mary on her elbow - hence the photo of her being helped with a couple of band-aids by Frederik, and Fred himself catching a gash across his chest.

The family were at the northern most beach - of what is known as the Northern Beaches of Sydney - on Friday, Palm Beach or "Palmy".

(Now Sunday morning here and grey, cool and raining. Good for the dangers of the fire season, and a break from the heat-wave, but not ideal summer/beach weather - though it's starting to clear and we may get a good afternoon. Still on 8.30am.)

An article, with a few extra photos, was in the local Sydney paper and had some details of the day.

The group - family, friends and minders - arrived about 11.30am and spent an hour swimming.

They almost had the beach to themselves, apart from a group school children, due to the overcast weather - and also being a work day.

The group had lunch at one of the beach cafes after their swim.

Palm Beach is one of many ocean beaches along the Northern Peninsula of Sydney.

It probably has the most "glamorous" reputation, as it has a lot of expensive housing.

Nicole Kidman, Sarah, Duchess of York and any well-known person is photographed here, even though the other beaches as just as good.

Sarah's sister Jane was married just nearby above Whale Beach if you remember the "Hello" photos.

And any fans of Australian TV show "Home and Away" will know Palm Beach as "Summer Bay", as that is where so much filming is done.

As Palm Beach is where all the well-known visitors to Sydney rent for a beach holiday, I wouldn't be suprised if Mary and Frederik have taken a house there, rather than stay at a city hotel.

It's not a long trip down to the CBD and Harbour, for any non-beach days.
