I get that they can be more involved than just a name on the letter head so to speak but I got the impression some posters were thinking these were Mary's own charities and that she runs then on a daily basis. They aren't hers, she supports them in whatever she can within the limits of her schedule.

Absolutely.
Mary was very hands on in regards to the Mary Foundation in the beginning. Very much shaping it to suit her abilities and her wishes as to what the purpose should be.
After a few years it had grown and needed a full time management, so Mary pulled out of the daily leadership.

Thanks. I think it's important to realize this, being a good "boss" means you know how to delegate and put the right people on the right job. Mary (or any other busy royal) coudn't have come this far without the daily assistance of advisors in various fields, a good secretary and a knowledgable lady-in-waiting, a skilfull hairdresser & make up artist, an excellent stylist... The Danish crown princely household seems to be a well running machine/company... However you wish to put it. Putting something like that together is really important & I find it fascinating to sometimes be able to catch a glimpse of the workings of that machine.

The serious DR has today posted this good and interesting article - it gives a good view over how much work there is 'behind the scenes' and how involved they are in their things.
Mimi og Mary sammen mod mobning: Har uddannet 10.000 lærere og pædagoger | Kultur | DR
I think I'm posting it in "The general news thread..." - otherwise the admins are free to move it to the correct thread
The article is brought because Frederik and Mary on Saturday live on DR1 in primetime will present 'The Crown Prince Couple's Prices 2015'.
In 2005, Mimi Jakobsen recieved Frederik and Mary's biggest award 'The Social Price' on behalf of 'Save the Children'. It has had a "huge impact," says Mimi Jakobsen who also tells about the cooperation with a Crown Princess who is involved down to the smallest detail and how "the formal You" is not a part of their collaboration.
- "The Crown Princess were sitting in a working group with us (in Save the Children) for one year and was involved in designing the campaign and the programme to 'Free for Bullying' with us. At the moment it has helped to educate 10,000 Danish teachers and educators and 1/3 of all Danish schools and 50 % of all Danish kindergartens uses that program," says Mimi Jakobsen.
- "She was totally involved and very active, and it's not something I say, just because it is the Crown Princess. There was asked questions, she came up with many ideas and was working hard. It was a very good experience, but also demanding, because she asked good questions. It was very positive and it has been very positive for the project that Mary was in charge of it."
- "You very quickly forget that she is the Crown Princess. You do not sit and say" Your Royal Highness ". I don't even think we said "You" (formal You). We were a working group."
** The article is longer, I have only translated a little part.

I believe that's Julie Mølsgaard who went to the upper secondary school with Frederik (and Joachim). She's also one of the people who've known Mary since the beginning.

 thank you
We often see her with Mary, and sometimes in the summer with the whole family.
Nice that friendships can last this long

Perhaps someone at the hotel or where ever Mary was staying, gave a photographer a tip?

He definitely is. I can see people suggest the artist to send the drawing of Frederik to Mary. I think that's a good idea :)

It's a beautiful malt painting of F&M.
And nice for Frederik on a official trip without his wife. He definitely looks happy to receive it (-;
