Mary looks very nice - Frederik looks tired. Probably just got back from the US and then had to go to Ireland.
Actually, I like the vest. My son has a similar one that he wears to church on Christmas Eve.

I've seen it mentioned somewhere, possibly Billed Bladet, that Frederik sufferes badly from jet lag.
It's possible he flew directly to Ireland from the US.

Thanks for the pictures from the wedding. Frederik indeed looks jet-lagged after the direct flight across the Atlantic. Understandable (said by a member who sleeps a week after having crossed the Atlantic) I see Mary cuddled his knee and hand during the loooooong cermony
Guess there is someone who has missed his wife the last week

Nice and positive as always, are we...?
Very tired or not, it's hardly a surprise that he wanted to attend the wedding of one of his oldest friends.

Mary did a great job of discreetly nudging Fred ,it's really difficult if your eyes are tired to keep them open,.

Priceless pictures. But can we all promise to keep in mind it was a little moment during the entire wedding. There are pictures of him taking a little 'jet-lagged power nap' during the ceremony and then there are all the other pictures of him arriving proud with his arm around his wife. Jet-lagged or not, of course he wanted to be at his friend's wedding.

California is 8 hours behind what explains the jet lag. Not sure if Frederik was on a scheduled flight or could make use of a private jet. I don't know if there are any scheduled flights that go directly between cities but if not, he'd certainly travel around 15 hours.

I think it is very understandable (and cute!). I would rather have my sleepy friend come to my wedding, than not show up at all. And I agree, Princess Mary did a nice discreet job helping her husband out.

The photos of Frederik drifting off during the service made me laugh out loud, and how Mary looks like she's telling him to wake up is hilarious. I think that's the first time I've seen a royal fall asleep in public (granted it was a private wedding but we still got photos).

I think I remember reading on another thread that Frederik is close friends with the groom, so that must be where the connection comes from. Since Nikolaos is a cousin of Frederik (via Queen Anne-Marie, Margrethe II's sister) I wonder if he knows either one of the couple through him (Frederik).

It runs in the family. Margrethe usually falls asleep at the opening of the parliament (possibly Henrik too). I remember one event when Fred & Joachim were even making fun of her sleeping during the event.

This is when I do one of my 'power-naps'. But you're in a fix when you're in a situation like Frederick finds himself.

Sidney Morning Herald hits a new low.
Apparantly, Mary isn't scandalous enough!
I'm lost for words (not really).
"At the moment, Mary is the least scandal-ridden royal on the surface of the planet. Actually shes so untouched and scandal-free, that she runs the risk of being forgotten. Her blood is more beige than blue"
BT goes on to say:
"In the column Andrew Hornet makes his dissatisfaction known by saying that he recieves the same pictures of the Danish crown princess at different official engagements. "Every day is pretty much the same. Mary opens an art exhibit, Mary arrives at a charity event, Mary kneels to recieve flowers from at cute kid, Mary walks the red carpet at a galla show, Mary presents the royal heirs to the adoring danes. The news value is pretty low" writes Andrew Hornery."
What the hell? Mary is our crown princess - our queen-to-be! She's not there "to make news". Shes especially not there to make scandal. Who do this guy think he is?
I would think he never attended a single day in school, that's how uneducated he makes himself sound.
EDIT: Found the original article.

the article is laughable at best
"Veteran Danish royal reporter Trine Villemann even wrote a book which provided a harsh critique of Mary's performance.
Titled 1015 Copenhagen K, she went on Nine's A Current Affair in 2012 to flog the English version, telling Tracy Grimshaw: "Being a crown princess means you have to make a king out of your husband and that will be Mary's primary function … if she cannot pick up the shattered pieces of her husband and make him a king, her son will never be king of Denmark."
"What has happened is that Mary is working so hard to become the perfect princess that she can't touch people, she doesn't communicate with us Danes ... Mary dares not or will not leave her comfort zone.
"Today's monarchy is not just about showing up and looking good, today's monarchy is about earning the respect of the people you represent." "
basing by the polls and news articles, Mary i would say is one of the most respected members of the DRF. She does her job well but is no way a robot.
I think she does make a connection with people, both young and old

and "shattered pieces of her husband"
I say Frederik has become a stronger representative with Mary by his side. and we all know how well he connects with people and is down to earth .
but of course people love a good scandal
so if you do your job badly you get criticized and if you do it too well you get criticized as well? lol
