i didn't know about diana, but her eyeline is always perfect , specially the one underneath the eye, and alwasy she has mascara in her eyelashes up and down, really perfect, if she does I would like to know who did it, becasue it is a delicate thing to have it done, what about if you don't like it ?

I am not aware of Diana ever having that work done on her eyelashes. Nor do I think Mary has done the same. If she is like my 15 year old neice, she has beautiful thick eyelashes and she always looks like she has on eye makeup when she has none on (cause she is not allowed to wear it
On another note, I am glad that Mary had a great trip home. Its going to be a while before she will have the opportunity to do so again. I am glad we got to get some pictures but I am glad that none of the press hysteria that happened in her previous visits home occurred in 2010.

Mary's trip to Australia
I think HRH made a perfectly gracious quick trip to her sisters & then to her best friends birthday. She spoke briefly to the media and gave them an opportunity to get their photos and no fuss was made. The TV news here gave her 30 seconds of air time on each of her movements and got the details correct. No fuss, no big deal, just normal reporting of her trip. The DRF know that the media are very interested as she is expecting twins, as are we. So why write negative comments about a perfectly normal visit. The media did not make a big deal of it. Amber Petty is not seen here as a bad girl. Just a loyal best friend, which must be difficult at times when some are so critical of your every utterance. Lene Balleby made it clear this was a private trip, which means she has to pay for the cost herself.

Terri Terri to be fair to the speculators (and I did mention it myself) there is a huge difference between losing your wedding ring and choosing not to wear it. I still maintain that it is a mystery - but it is one that no doubt will never be solved, only speculated about! Actually, I think the best reason - linking the two events - is that Fred lost his, and Mary decided to make absolutely sure that she didn't mislay hers this trip. Or she may have been advised to leave them behind by Security. They may well be THAT valuable! (Isn't the wedding ring ancient Icelandic gold from a particular nugget?)

All this talk of wedding rings, marriage problems, tax payers money, secret visits etc is really boring Can't we just move on and talk about the Crown Prince and Crown Princesses current events in a positive way

It is not just the eyeliner and eyelashes, but even her eyebrows are always perfect.
There is alot of different procedures that can be done today on a more
permanent basis.
Do not know how safe they all would be, and if you also grew tired of
it, what you would do!!

True! And I think that there's a perfectly logical reason why she chose not to wear them. Its not the end of the world...or their marriage as some would wish!
By the way, her wedding ring as well as the ring that Frederik lost, were made from the first gold that was mined in Greenland...not Iceland.

yes, i agree with eyebrow too, it is always perfect, I agree with this thing about getting tired, specially when you age , ma be it is not so good looking when you age, but I am surprsie about her perfect make up at all times, when she in in private life going out or cooming in a flight from the other side of the world, she does not have puffy eyes, or tirerd face, wish i would knoe her secret!

You don't thrive on gossip crisscross? Aw, well, I do, and lots of the posters here do! I love celebrity/royalty gossip sites, and this site thrives on exactly the same PR/papparazzi stuff as any other. The difference is, we actually like Mary, Marie, Leti, Kate etc - but that doesn't mean we can't state our opinions when they behave oddly, dress badly, have life issues, or make PR mistakes!

Well it should be noted that this is the General News thread for the family, and as such the purpose of this thread is to deal with the minutiae that doesn't fit into the Current Events threads.

Must be an innocent explanation for the missing rings - if there was trouble in paradise, taking the rings off would give so much away. It's more likely Mary would continue to wear them, just for the sake of appearances, surely.

Oh for goodness sake, so she isn't wearing her wedding ring. It must mean Mary and Fred are divorcing.

Amen! I am going with that oldy but goody . . . . . .
"When you hear hoofbeats think horses not zebras"!
Mary is pregnant, fact.
Mary is having twins, fact.
This is her first set of twins, fact.
Pregnancy frequently causes fingers to swell, fact.
Pregnancy side effects (i.e. fluid retention, swelling fingers, etc.) may begin earlier when presenting with multiple births, fact.
Mary loves her wedding rings and doesn't want to have to get them cut off and has therefore put them carefully away until such time as she can get them on again and off again and on again, etc. ad nauseum. Conjecture!
But probably accurate!

Quite right. Lets also not forget that pregnant or not, fingers often swell up when flying, so it may be perfectly sensible to leave the rings at home when one has so many flights to do in a short period of time.

A little info re Amber's party that I heard on the radio whilst in the car today. Amber gave a short interview on air and a Melbourne radio station picked it up. . .
Mary, along with five others gave speeches at her birthday party which had around 150 in attendance. A few notable VIP of Australia's sporting world amongst them. Mary was first to give a speech.
Amber had the five ladies (if I recall correctly, it was five of her nearest and dearest female friends) wear pink sashes with "Amber's Lifemaid" written on each (a joke at the expense of Amber having not married). The ladies were very much amused as was the entire party.
Mary helped Amber get ready and into her dress, and wanted to make sure the night was all about her.
Mary danced the night away to the best and worst of 80's music and a list of contemporary artists aswell. Particuarly enjoying many Abba hits and acting out the dance to 'Single Ladies' along with others.
Mary mingled freely with many of the guests engaging them in conversation, and them her.
HRH stayed until around 2am before calling it a night. Amber said Mary had thoroughly enjoyed herself and that she (Amber) was now really sad that Mary had left.
Even a Crown Princess is entitled to let her hair down from time to time and rightly so. I'm sure Princess Maxima would agree!
As for Mary not wearing her engagement and wedding rings, it's really a non issue until people try and make it one. Give it up already!...lol.

A little funny thing from BT.
You know they had a story about the comments in Australian papers, which led to a number of annoyed reactions among readers, who had actually read the comments in the Australian papers.
That was followed by an article of Mary at the AP party with the headline: "Mary at scandale party" and as you know there was nothing scandalous neither at the party nor in the article. It was just based on some of the stories about AP fro the past.
Now this morning a new story with the headline: "Pregnant Mary drank wine" - yes, how appalling!
Yhis time they had been foolish enough to allow the readers to comment and without exaggerating I'd say 90% of the reactions were angry: "Get real"! and/or "Stop these sensationalist headlines". Even an Australian had googled his way through the article and posted a response.
And now the readers can no longer comment on that story....
BT is a tabloid but they've always considered themselves a class way above Ekstra Bladet. Well, not lately.
It'll be interesting to see if they'll continue their recent policy of sensationalist headlines in connection with the DRF.
Getting a lot of hits is not necessarily a good thing if you at the same time p*ss off a lot of your core readers. - Who might just as well go to TV2 or Starlounge for the gossip news.
BT is a right wing/liberal paper and as such their readers tend to be somewhat conservative and also more serious minded in regards to news. Whereas readers of Ekstra Bladet also very much read the paper for the entertainment value.

I don't see the big deal with the fact that a lot of royals do not wear their wedding jewelry. Lots of happily married non-royal people don't wear their wedding jewelry after the first few weeks or months of marriage. It is a secure person that does that.
