The picture where Mary and Josephine both smile is just too precious! Very cute. I love how the "girls" look very coordinated style-wise! Thanks for posting!

And there are those who claim Mary is a cold and distant mother...
Well, the kids sure are good actors...
Nice find, Roskilde.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #35, 2013.
Mary hyggede med børnene - Mary had a cosy time with the children.
Written by the Ulrik Ulriksen.
Last Saturday was Total Defence Day Copenhagen. The Total Defence encompass the armed forces, including the Home Guard, Civil Defence, police, ambulance and firebrigades and other rescue services. All these held an exhibition just a few hundred meters up the quay from Amalienborg, so Mary, a nanny, and the children, flanked by the usual anonymous gentlemen strolled from Amalienborg to the exhibition.
As a second lieutenant in the Army Home Guard, Mary is attached to the HQ company in Copenhagen, which is a part of Total Defence Region Sjælland/Zealand. But this was just a private outing with the kids.
Mary and co arrived at 11.30 to get a good seat for the big event; a simulated rescue by a helicopter out in the harbour, right next to Dannebrog which is anchored there. The twins were pulled out of their twin stroller and sat with mother at the edge of the quay along with Bella and Christian and their nanny, Mette Hansen, (*) and watched the show with considerable fascination.
Apart from that there was plenty to look at. Fireengines and ambulances. Bella and Christian went inside one and he played patient on the stretcher, while Bella had a chat with a paramedic. That wasn't the only one Bella chatted up, she also had a good talk with a Home Guardsman.
All the children got a bloody wound on their legs applied by a medic from the Army Home Guard. Vincent sat on the lap of Christian while his very dramatic wound was applied to his leg. He was told to keep his leg of his shorts away from the "wound" until the make-up dried, something Vincent appeard to be taking very seriously because he is seen pulling up his trouser leg in several pics long after the make up must have dried.
The children climbed on to a fire engine and here was what I think is the mascot, a border collie, and Vincint who is used to dogs went straight up to the animal, - while pulling up his leg...
Josephine was seen talking to her mother near an ambulance, presumably explaining mother what the purpose of that vehicle is.
Christian was seen wearing a "tattoo" on his left arm.
After a couple of hours the whole group walked back to Amalienborg.
(*) Mette Hansen was Christian's first nanny, and everyone who has seen the pics of Christian with her, opening the new elephant house in Copenhagen Zoo some years ago, know that it is genuine love between the two of them. - It's good that she is back.
Plenty of stuff in BB this week. It'll probably take a couple of days to summarize it all.
