I thought AM was more popular with the Greeks than her husband ?
Any functions that she attends to in Spain ?

Why would Queen Anne Marie do royal functions in Spain? Spain has its own royal family to perform royal dutues (and a new star in development now with Letizia! . Queen Anne Marie often visits Spain because her daughter Alexia and her granddaughters live there, and she and King Constantine and their younger children often vacation with the Spanish royals, but she wouldn't perform royal duties on Spain's behalf.
Queen Anne Marie lives in London and occasionally attends events that she personally supports rather than supports as a member of a royal family, whether Greece's or Denmark's.

I learned her AM husband's sister is Queen Sophia ..... so the net under them is not only the Danish RF, but also the Spanish RF ?

King Constantine and Queen Sofia are siblings, but I don't think the Spanish royal family does much in terms of financial support to the Greek royals. My understanding is that it was mainly Queen Margrethe and Queen Ingrid (when she was alive), and Queen Elizabeth and perhaps Prince Charles who support the Greek royals financially, supplemented by whatever King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie's personal earnings (savings) may be and whatever fee King Constantine draws from his speaking engagments and the Greek school he founded in London.

Princess Benedikte's children are neither in line for the Danish throne, nor do they preform any *official* royal duties on behalf of the Danish royal family. For them to be in line to the throne they had to be a). educated in Denmark from childhood and B). take Danish nationalityby the age of majority, as per a written agreement prior to Benedikte's marriage to Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstien-Berleburg ( who is not a royal, btw. he is the head of a former mediatized German *princely* family).
There has been much debate as to the legality of the agreement. That is, could the dynastic rights of yet to be born children be decided by the actions of their mother? In any event, none of the children have shown interest.
However, it should be noted that Nathalie took Danish nationality in the mid 1990s and Alexandra in either 1998 or 2000 (I can't remember wich one it was, but I wrote a post on this subject on alt. gossip.royalty several months ago). I *think* the taking of Danish nationality may have had something to do with inheritance (rather than succession to the throne), but I'm not sure. Also, Nathalie may have taken Danish nationality due to her sport.
None of them receive any money from the civil list.

I knew I could count on you, Sean.
Thank you.
So ... in light of the above, is Queen Margrethe 'trying out' the capabilities of Princess Nathalie vis-a-vis her assistance the other day with an "offical function" of opening a bridge/road ?

I love the color of the Queen's dress. It is pink or a pale one. But it suits her. I also love the way Queen Margrethe's hair is kept.

BT - Dronning Margrethe var tydeligvis i strålende julehumør, da hun, prins Henrik, kronprins Frederik og Mary Donaldson ankom til juleaftensgudstjeneste i Århus Domkirke. Mary has improved a lot esp. in her outfits. I love the way she dresses and the way she keeps her hair this time.

"Reburial of the Empress-Dowager Maria Feodorovna
Today, Minister for Foreign Affairs Per Stig Møller has handed over to the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Denmark a letter from Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. The letter is in answer to an earlier letter to Her Majesty the Queen from the President, who has raised the question of a possible transfer of the mortal remains of Empress-Dowager Maria Feodorovna from Roskilde Cathedral to the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg.
The question of a reburial has also been raised with the Queen by representatives of the Romanov family, who have referred to the wish of Empress-Dowager Maria Feodorovna that her mortal remains, when circumstances would so permit, be laid finally to rest in the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg, next to her Consort, Czar Alexander III.
Against this background, the Queen indicates in Her letter that in principle Her Majesty will not stand in the way of the fulfilment of this wish, but also points to the necessity in such case of assuring that the transfer and reburial be conducted in a dignified and respectful manner. A reburial would simultaneously be a symbolic confirmation of the historical ties between Denmark and Russia.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs has also written a letter to the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Mr. Igor Ivanov. The letter sets out a number of specific considerations which will have to be taken into account to ensure that the reburial be conducted in peace and with dignity. This will require a close co-operation between Danish and Russian authorities, and an agreement covering all aspects of the reburial must be concluded between the Governments of Denmark and Russia. Only when these deliberations have been finalized, will the Danish side be able to definitively assess whether a transfer of the mortal remains of the Empress-Dowager is appropriate, and seek Her Majesty the Queen's final approval of the reburial.
In such a case, the intention would be for a reburial to take place on 26 September 2004, as this date marks the anniversary of the arrival of Princess Dagmar to Russia on 26 September 1866 in order to marry the Russian heir apparent Alexander."
