Summary of article in Billed Bladet #40, 2019.
Written by Ulrik Ulriksen.
It rained a lot the day Mary opened the new bridge named after her, Kronprinsesse Marys Bro.
And it had been raining even more in the days prior to the opening, so outside the red carpet it was muddy! - And high heels and mud and pools of water...
Well, see for yourselves in the article below.
It tends to be windy around fjords and this day was no exception! Wind and royal hats don't necessarily go well together...
But apart from all that the locals, who have been looking very much forward to this bridge, cheered like Mary was a rock-star. And there were loads of people around! Not least because no less than 10.000 had signed up to run over the bridge, once the ribbon had been cut. That being done in fine style, Mary fired a starter-gun and off the runners went.
Afterwards Mary mingled with the locals with whom she had many a chat. - All in all a pretty good day for Mary.
- As you can see in the scans here of BB #40, 2019.

Crown Princess Mary about the UN International Day of the Girl Child
"Today is a very special day. For all over the world, we are calling attention to girls' rights, because it is the United Nations International Girl's Day.
That is why I would like to introduce you to 14-year-old Farzana. She just visited me at home in Amalienborg, where we got a good talk about what it is like to be Farzana and grow up in Dhaka. Since she was 11 years old, she has been volunteering to combat child marriage and girls' right to attend school in the slum area of Citi Polli. Her commitment must be acknowledged and I have the deepest respect for her willpower and profit in a reality that can be both harsh and unfair. Farzana gives hope to many."

Thanks, Iceflower.
The girl is Farzana from a slum neighborhood in Dhaka in Bangladesh. There she is working for women's/girls rights. Not least the right to get an education. (- Daughters tend to be second priority, when families who have few means must select who among their children should have an education or even go to school!)
Mary presented the girl to the press and told a little about her. They had started the day at home at Amalienborg before going to a school in downtown Copenhagen, where Mary and Farzana each gave a speech to the Danish pupils.
- I wonder who the girl in blue is. She is very young. I'd say fourteen or so. A relative of Farzana? Or a friend? But why not mention her if that be the case?
The good Farzana may have found the Danish autumn weather a little chilly. Heavy showers all day but mild. A balmy 14 degrees C = 52.7 F.
Mild if you are a Dane that is, but if you come straight from Bangladesh...

It's good to see that despite turning fourteen, Christian is a loving boy who is not ashamed of showing he is fond of mother.
And Josephine is fond of him as well.
And he is getting tall!
ADDED: From Billed Bladet:

Christian answered a question about how it had been. I have problems hearing what he replied, but he said something about it being exciting and a funny experience and he was (I think) impressed with the riders.
His voice is getting deeper.

they definitely look like a loving family. cuddles between christian and josephine, between the kids and mary... they look quite united.
nice to see the kids handing out prizes and being introduced to their roles as members of the rf.

Yep.
And I like this photo in particular, that's what older brothers must do - says so in Guidebook for Older Brothers, page eight:

Awwww.....thank you so much for all the adorable heart-warming photos!
There is so much love in the family. I remember taking note of how Christian and Bella looked out for Josephine and Vincent on their famous trip to Greenland. They were like mini mom and dad. It is so sweet to observe.
I hope as the kids grow older that it will continue to be that way. :-)
