Charming Mary.... (video)

As a comment says: I love the way she is so playful, doesn't seem too bothered about not knowing exactly what she is meant to do :)

Yes, even in her very early days as part of the royal family Mary never got tense or awkward when things went wrong. I remember her forgetting the words to a speech she was giving - this was probably not long after the wedding - and being a little flustered but carrying on. At this point there's probably not much that would throw her off and I bet she enjoys comical little scenes like the above as much as the rest of us.

I can't remember which member of the British royal family saying they love when something unexpected happens at events as it breaks what can be a fairly monotonous routine.

:previous:One thing I have noticed over the years is that Crown Princess Mary, every time she is at an event she is in that moment and really puts all of herself into being out there with the people. She never fails to make me smile. I think she must be a truly delightful person to meet.:)

I can only agree :flowers: And I think that little video show Mary's charming and funny personality pretty well.

I watched the speech and was impressed. Anyone who's had to do a speech of that length knows it's not easy, even if you're well practiced and have done the same sort of thing before. Mary's become a very good public speaker and I liked the substantive nature of her talk.

Her accent is interesting.. she doesn't really sound Australian anymore but it doesn't sound Danish, either.

From the start of her public days Mary adopted an accent that's closer to a British sound than an Australian. Only after Australian holidays her true Australian accent slips back in.

I think she definitely still sounds very Australian with a slight lilt to Danish, however you can hear her stumble on a few words where perhaps she is thinking in Danish and has to quickly say in English.

how did she manage 3 clothes changes? i understand changing into a long dress for the evening, but changing between the two day events seems unnecessary to me.
