But the press weren't allowed to this event - neither to the dinner home in Frederik VIII's Palace tonight. Maybe Crown Prince Haakon attends in the dinner as well?

thanks for the photo...nice that Haakon was there too

You'd think she was just another person with a full time job!
A pleasure to see her so often!
BTW Roskilde, have you ever seen her in person? If so, what impression did she make?

You would.
A little view over her week so far:
Monday: To the inauguration of the new psychiatric hospital in Slagelse.
Tuesday: The Mary Foundation launched their new project - Kærligt Talt.
Wednesday morning: Meeting with Foreign Minister of the Foreign Ministry.
Wednesday afternoon: Meeting with Director of UNFPA at Amalienborg.
Thursday: To the Index Award Design Cermony.
Friday morning: Attended the Young Global Leaders' Day at Christiansborg Palace.
Friday night: Host with a buffet dinner of the Young Global Leaders (YGL) at Amalienborg.
Yes, I have the pleasure to meet her together with my daughter to her Free Of Bullying children relays in Copenhagen. A lovely experience. I will return to that, when I have a little more time later today...

Dear Hannelore.
Yes my friend and I, and our children, we try every year to reach to attend the Mary Foundation's Free Of Bullying relay race in Copenhagen. A large annual and popular event for families with younger children. And the children know all about the Mary Foundation's Free Of Bullying (more than us parents) as they use it in both their kindergartens and in their schools.
What impression did she make? Not much different than what we hear from all the other people having meet her
Mary is just good and natural talent with people and has a very pleasant personality. A laid-back Aussie personality. I remember that something I really noticed and admired was how (in Danish we say 'stille og rolig' she is. If it should be translated it must be down to earth/calm. There are many people around, many photographers around to those events, but when Mary sits down in front of you and your daughter you don't notice any of that around you. She is very present - something I've noticed everyone mentions. Sweet, natural and easy to speech with. You forgot it is your future Queen you sits and chats about children with
Noticed (and has ever since) that she is good to remember and taking time to everyone. The time schedule must then wait! And she also pushes a security barrier slightly to the side if it means she then can reach the two persons sitting in wheelchair at the back of the line. A property both F&M has. They are not afraid to get close to the people. And all kinds of people. IIRC Mary has said something like that she knows people often have waited for a long time, so taking the time to greet them is the least she can do.
My friend noticed that she is very loving in the form of touching - caress an arm, back or a cheek. For example she put her arm around another mother in front of us when the mother walked in the totally wrong direction to the scene where we all should start with some warm up. They both laughed a lot about that.
In spite of that I have noticed that both Frederik and Mary can seem almost shy at large events or when there is much focus on them. Especially at events where the actual focus is on them. Something I actually find very liberating and charming. I have seen Frederik in Roskilde last year, but never spoken with him or attend a event with him as with Mary. I much hope it happens someday. We are lucky here in Roskilde city, a town both F&M often visit.
Margrethe have I seen visiting Roskilde Cathedral once. But then I can't brag about having seen more royals members.

Thank you Roskilde. I've only ever seen Mary in pics & video but that's how I feel she has always appeared to be. Lovely that she is that person, in person.

who is the lady accompaining mary at the left of this picture? she seems to be wearing a royal household pin, so i am guessing she is part of mary's secretarian or aide staff?

Thank you very much, Roskilde. I love these personal accounts by fellow countrymen of a royal. No-one knows better than you how Mary comes across in Denmark And for all of her glamour and internationally acclaimed style... That's all that matters really.
I understand what you say about her calm and down to earth attitude. Maybe 'serene' also fits the picture? I've wondered about ths before... How much of queen Ingrid did Frederik see in Mary Donaldson: maybe he recognized the loving, stable, discrete but determined personality he was (unconsciously?) looking for?

I am pretty sure that the pink dress worn to Carlsberg is the same one worn to the Irish Wedding last year. She wore a white coat with it and a pink fascinator. The wedding of Soren Jessen on 30th august 2014.

Thanks Iceflower,
A happy woman. It's a pleasure to see no matter how many events Mary has all of made with big smiles and cheerful mood.
And then we Danes are enjoying the last 'summery days' we have this week... It should be the last summer Denmark will have this year. Oh man.
