According to the Palace Caroline is Cand.Merc. I googled it as Im not familiar with the title and it seems to be an education in business, (international) marketing, finance, logisticks, accounting and similar things. http://www.business.aau.dk/ha/Candme...c.htm#candmerc
She and Mary are good friends and her husband and Frederik are childhood friends
When Countess Victorias term ends on April 30th she will not accompany Mary anylonger. I agree she has been very classy and brings more dignety and "oomph" than two young pretty ladies (just my oppinion). Alexandra also had a couple of older Ladies in Waiting in the beginning, her current secreatry is in her 30s though
There should be pictures in the forum of Mary and Frederik attending their daughters christenng, it was early in Marys pregnancy and she wore a sparkeling skirt and beige cardigan, Im to lazy to search for it

a lady in waiting is an assistant for the princess. she helps her carry bouquets or things she receives, so that the princess has hands free, will assist the princess in her engagements, etc. the lady in waiting is a secretary and a confidential assistant.
not all the princesses have one. some families don't use the lady in waiting figure anymore.

That's too bad, I will certainly miss the always so elegant and refined presence of Countess Bernstorff-Gyldensteen... I hope she will have great luck in whatever she will do in the future. The Countess has certainly set high standars for her successor.

well said GrandDuchess. I agree Victoria was a beautiful, classy lady and will miss her and wish her well.
in my experience nothing ruins a friendship faster than working together. Power shifts and resentments simmer. No longer a friend but employee is a difficult transition. i'm watching it with 2 of my closest friends, sad 30 year friendship down the tubes.

Is this Peter Heering on of the "Cherry Heering"-family? Cherry Heering is a Danish cherry liqueur which is a classic in the bars for cocktails and the most important ingredient of the famous "Singapore Sling"- cocktail which was invented at the "Raffles"-hotel in Singapore but is now a world classic.
Just wondering?

HRH the Crown Princess has one lady in waiting, Countess Victoria Bernstorff-Gyldensteen.
I am glade to see the Countess go. From my encounter with her...she is quite an arrogant & rude woman.

so is a lady in waiting like a glorified servant? i am just asking because someone mentioned that a lady in waiting holds the flowers for the CP. Also does the lady in waiting have to have some sort of pedigree?

Not a glorified servant, but a companion and advisor. It has always been that a lady in waiting folds the flowers.
Normally, pedigree plays a part but that isn't always the case. Victoria is a noble only by marriage.

A lady-in-waiting is similar to an executive assistant for a CEO. She preps the princess for the event and she's on hand for whatever the princess needs. She figures out the protocol of an event and make sure the princess gets to talk to who they're supposed to especially if the event organizer is not well organized. She remembers people's names in case the princess forgets, slips a word about background and history so that the princess can talk intelligently to a great variety of people.
Its all a part of making the princess look good and I guess ladies-in-waitings are like executive assistants in that sometimes they act gruff, but I think they do it to protect the princess and a fortunate side effect is that the princess looks super nice in comparison to the lady-in-waiting.

I think this green suit looks so much better with the lighter hose and the dark shoes. The way she wore it in New York with the dark hose and multi-color shoes just didn't do anything to bring out the color of the suit. She looks lovely.

I don't think that Mary has black hair, I think that it is a dark brown that can look black depending on the light and in many photos it also looks black, and also from a distance, it does look black, and I know because I have pretty much the same shade of hair as Mary and people think that I have black hair all the time. And in pictures of Mary, when she was pregnant, there are some photos of her where her hair looks like it has been dyed a deep shade of red, which actually looked very nice on Mary and suited her :) . I'll see if I can find the photos that I'm talking about...
