I just visited the link. It is very interesting. Lots of great pictures. Thanks! One thing that called my attention was the fact that the family owns so many cars...about 100? That is pretty sad. Why would anyone, even royals, need so many cars...pretty disappointing. I know, I am off the subject, but quite an impressive amount of vehicles for the family.

Mary's Melbourne rattler begins voyage
By Catherine Best
January 05, 2006
THEY'VE been rattling through Melbourne's streets for more than a century, but now one of the city's iconic heritage trams is going off on a right royal trundle.
A 1955 W-class tram is leaving for Denmark today as a unique gift to Crown Prince Frederick and his Australian-born wife, Crown Princess Mary.

Don't be disappointed. I don't think they have that many cars. Where did you get your information from? The only Royalty I know is the Sultan of Brunei who owes that many and has a garage specially built for them and kept them finely tuned daily.

I think Monaco has a lot of cars too, but they are nowadays exhibited as te princes car collection. I know that they need a lot of appropriate cars for official visitors. MC rented brand new limousines for the last occasion so that none would feel treated less then the other. But some countries might prefer to own these cars for weddings, funerals, state visits etc. ( i mean where do you hire the required amount of rolls every time you need them ) Also they would have to have a certain security standard and that sort of car you can't hire easily.
Just my guess.

"oh well, she'll be able to reuse this dress on state visits to strict muslim countries."I don't think the Danish Royal Family have alot of connections with muslims countries.

I cannt recall ever seeing a Danish visit to or from a muslim nation. Your example of he Jordanian Royals is a good one, they did not attend Fred and Mary's wedding so I'm not sure if the 2 countires have any links.

Princess Mary is voted 2nd in Hello's Most Elegant Woman 2005's poll

2nd – Princess Mary (19%)
Prince Frederik's pretty wife will never forget October 15, 2005. The former marketing executive became a mother for the first time when she and her royal partner welcomed a bouncing baby boy

What the Aussie gossip mags say
................................The real tattle rag deal is to be found in New Idea's and Woman's Day's kindly invitation to guide us expertly back into the good old days of royal "plots" and princesses having breakdowns and much-loved queens snubbing commoners marrying into the family. For nothing is as tantalising, as perverse or as cryptic as the splendid lives and loonies that make up a monarchy, wherever it may be. This week, it's in Denmark and Our Mary is its quarry.
New Idea kicks off the royal intrigue with news that a German publication called Neue Woche has published claims Mary has "become dependent on medication" since her son's birth, with similar "nasty rumours" circulated by a Norwegian newspaper's website. It seems Mary is having trouble with the mother-in-law, with "some European magazines" reporting the pair have "had words". Oh, and Neue Woche reports Mary attending a recent charity concert with an "expressionless" face.
The "royal expert" Anne Skjelborg Jensen has told Danish newspaper BT Mary is being outshone by the divorced goody-two-shoes Princess Alexandra. "We have seen Alexandra among the tsunami victims, but Mary is mostly seen at fashion fairs," she proclaims. The knives are out for Mary, but what fascinating tales lie ahead.

Well here we go with unfounded allegations about Mary and her relationship with Her Majesty, Alexandra, and so on.
Personally, I don't believe a word of it. Must be a slow newsday for royal jornalists.

Why oh why did they have to put these girly hearts on the crown? It looks like something out of a Barbie mag.

Wait a second! Is Mary supposed or going to wear that tiara at the ceremony? Why? I would hope she would wear her wedding tiara instead, but that new one...
