Seems like she's taken a page out of Mette-Marit's book on a liberal interprtation of hats?
That´s what I´ve thought too. It wouldn´t surprise me to see this "thing" at the baptism of the baby again. There seems to be an unwritten law to wear strange so called hats as Royal mother at baptisms.
The outfit on the a whole is very refreshing. Not everyone would "get through" with it-but Mary definitely does.
hmm...i was just looking thru the pics on the cp mary message broad...and found sth abt her jacket she wore today......i didn't notice it at first when i saw it on this broad....but when i look at a bigger version of the photo....u can actually see....hmm..sth that looks like her lace bra.....i might be mistaken..but..maybe u can tell me what it is..

Dear All,
Dear prize recipient,
It is a great pleasure for me to hand out this year´s award in research communication. This prize is given to a researcher who has excelled herself and who has made her area of research relevant and lively to the wider public too. This year the prize goes to the chief doctor of the research council at the University of Copenhagen, Bente Klarlund Pedersen. Besides being an excellent communicator, Bente Klarlund Pedersen also has had an extensive capacity for research in her field. It is for her research in muscle movement and the importance of exercise that she is our prize recipient. She has done work in various fields. Bente Klarlund Pedersen is the warmest or strongest advocate for the suggestion that exercise should be prescribed for all...(Her books include "Prescription for Exercise" and "Pregnancy and Exercise". A book that Mary should perhaps look at...) She is famous for being a bridge-constructor between the world of medicine and the general public. The message to take to heart on exercise is that the benefits of exercise will improve your life´s value for an individual and for the community on the whole. This year´s winner is, thus, a researcher whose contribution is to bring her research to the general public so that more can see how much exercise means for a sound body and soul. Congratultions on the prize.

What ever it is , its shows that the coat doesn't fit well (and the fourth photo at post 116 also shows it). I think her skirt and shoes are OK except her coat and hairpiece.
i also founded it quite weird that she chose that type of "hat" ... it seems more suitable for a christenng or wedding... but not for a day event...

Am I the only one who was reminded of Victoria's outfit at Ingrid Alexandra's christening? The green, and the hair in sort of a pony-tail with a flowery thing...?
It looks good on her. The fashion with hair pieces instead of hats have grown on me. At least we can see their faces with it, unlike the potted hats.

I absolutely adore her outfit! She's never boring, our Mary - and that's what I love most about her! Wearing the hairpiece in that way looks very pretty and girly on her. She looks really young, and little girls would absolutely adore her hairstyle. And no boring office-looking combo this outfit.
And for those who thought right away that they're looking at her bra - shame on you, haha! No, I don't think its her bra, so no need to hmm and ummm about it (or if you think it is, then say it straight up: "I think its her bra", no need to be coy). As for the top not fitting well - I agree to some extent, but I don't think it was meant to be tight. Furthermore, you can clearly note that the only reason why we can see what she's wearing underneath is because she's lifting her hand to touch her hair - otherwise you wouldn't be able to see the camisole underneath.
P.S. Had another look at the pics - she looks absolutely gorgeous in the close-up where's she's looking up. She looks really really young in that picture.
you must admit that the shade of blue-ish green of Mary's outfit is quite similar to that of Victoria's. I think what Norwegienne is trying to imply is that the whole hair piece decoration and color combination just reminds her of what Mary was wearing. She didn't actually stay it was exactly the same. Besides, it's quite obvious that it's entirely different.

Princess Mary of Denmark, still packing her agenda with public engagements despite the recent announcement that she's expecting her first child, has inspired a TV reality show in her home country.
Aussie TV bosses are searching for young women to follow in commoner Mary's footsteps by undergoing a royal makeover in a new reality show. Producers are searching for "diamonds in the rough" to be schooled in sophistication and high society, in a process led by Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell.
"The chosen contestants will learn how to walk, talk and act like a real princess," said a statement from Granada Productions, which is behind the programme. The winner will then be escorted to a gala ball in London by a hitherto undisclosed Prince Charming.
And, proving herself an inspiration in a different context, Tasmanian-born Mary has emerged as the third most-trusted person in the country in a Reader's Digest survey, following burn specialist Dr Fiona Wood and veteran singer-actress Olivia Newton-John. Editor-in-chief Tom Moore attributed the triumphs on the list to a common "generosity of spirit".
when will their next engagement be?
since the announcement of pregnancy mary and frederik have shortened their schedule drastically...
