Last night, H.K.H. The Crown Prince of the Jewish Society and the official Denmark's memorial ceremony in connection with the 75th anniversary of the Jews' flight to Sweden. The memorial ceremony took place in the Synagogue in Copenhagen, and here is his Royal Highness with the President of Israel, H.E. Reuven Rivlin.

Frederik is going to Aarhus to plant an oak-tree on 31. October.
https://jyllands-posten.dk/aarhus/ECE10949940/kronprinsen-faar-kongeeg-i-aarhus/

The tree is 12 meters high and will be planted at Frederik's plads (square) in a relatively new part of central Aarhus.
Very close to the local unemployment office BTW. With the unemployment rate being so low, perhaps they couldn't find anyone to dig the hole for the tree, so they called in Frederik?
Amazing what royals are used for. :D

Possibly because Royals have more experience than anyone else. I hope he doesn't aggravate his back condition tho.
Usually the local council turn the soil over before hand to make it easier I believe. They do so here in case the ground is rock hard.
Imagine Frederick swinging a pick axe for instance. Ha!

Will you go to watch?

If I can get away from the phone for a few hours I will.

Well, it's located in a part of Aarhus that was a part of the main railway station, so perhaps an engine is buried there...
IIRC it right around where a locomotive was neatly placed on top of a building by the blast, when an ammunition ship exploded in Aarhus harbor during WWII.
I've seen photos of that locomotive. It looks like someone had picked it up and carefully placed it on top of a building!
Several members of my family experienced that explosion first hand.

"The Crown Prince plants the tree with 100 schoolchildren, who will all receive a small oak tree that they can take home and plant." - How nice:flowers:

it's a gift from the city, "Crown Prince plants "Crown Prince's 50th Birthday Day" as protector of the Plant and Tree association."
H.K.H. Kronprinsen planter "Kronprinsens 50-års fødselsdagseg" | Kongehuset

In a couple of days, Frederik will be heading to Australia for the Invictus Games, more info
Med danske veteraner i Australien | Kongehuset
Besides visiting Invictus Games, the Crown Prince will also participate in the celebration of the Sydney Opera House's 45th anniversary.
Frederik had opened an exhibition earlier this year

Wow that's a really interesting story. An ammunition ship blast would make a hell of mess for sure.

:previous: no, it will be only Frederik. Mary has other events this week.

Article on Frederik's support for veterans and Invictus games

"I think it confirms the Crown Prince's personal commitment to the rehabilitation of the veterans.*...*And I know from my talks with the veterans that there is a strong motivation factor for them that the Crown Prince shows their interest"

"I have run with the Crown Prince at Royal Run and when he trained with DIF Soldier Project in the spring and I think it is wonderful that the Crown Prince gives us so much to veterans and that he is there for us in our fight against the injuries"

The #Danish support team @InvictusGames2018 still the absolute best - today at the swimming competition. The presence of HRH Crown Prince Frederik was highly appreciated by all.

A great article on Frederik meeting the Danish swimmers
https://www.invictusgames2018.org/latest/danish-swimmers-cheered-on-by-royalty/

"“It makes me feel even better that he saw that, because he’s been to many of our trainings,” said Lehrmann. I love that he’s really supportive of us all, and he knows - he’s been in the military too." :flowers:
Lehrmann was inspired to compete at the Invictus Games after meeting the Crown Prince of Denmark in his role as an ambassador to The Danish Wounded Warriors Project"

Besides the Invictus Games and supporting the veterans, Frederik has also attended the 45th anniversary of the Sydney Opera House

Troels Kløvedal is in Danish context a household face. He's a true globetrotter and has made many docus about his countless travels.

It's good to see that he is honored while he i still alive. He is, alas, dying after having lived a full and rich life. - And that's the worst epitaph to have, is it?

Frederik gave a personal speech to Troels Kløvedal yesterday: https://www.bt.dk/royale/kronprinsen-i-roerende-hyldest-til-doeende-troels-kloevedal
https://www.billedbladet.dk/kongeli...e-til-troels-kloevedal-du-har-tryllebundet-os

Suffering from a severe lung disease as well as ALS, the 75 year old Troels Kløvedal has lost the ability to speak and he is now so weak that he can hardly type anymore. But his brain is still fully functioning.

Years ago Troels Kløvedal made a documentary about the Danish navy's history, where QMII played a prominent role. One episode took place aboard Dannebrog where he and QMII talked about the navy and also Dannebrog. And you can hardly imagine a bigger contrast! Troels Kløvedal looking very much like the 68'er he basically is and QMII...
Yes, somehow they seemed to hit it off and it was both and interesting and entertaining discussion the two of them had. - (Of course you can usually rely on something meaningful coming out of her mouth when QMII engage herself in a docu.)

But back to Frederik's speech.
"You (informal) have spellbound us through decades and generations.
I have followed you and many have been aboard the North Caper (The sailing boat in which Troels Kløvedal and his family went on many journeys.) and felt your passion for sailing and living.
I went to sea with you from north to south through Guldborgsund ( a strait) some years ago. But that was enough to sense where you stand and sail and where your freedom is."

Tomorrow, The Crown Prince conducts the opening of a Kasper Eistrup exhibition. Museum of Natural History, Frederiksborg Castle where a new portrait will be revealed

"Kasper Eistrup, known as former singer and guitarist in the Danish band Kashmir, has now devoted himself to the arts. For the Museum he has painted a new portrait of HRH Crown Prince Frederik. On this occasion, the new portrait will be displayed in a special exhibition, which presents a wide range of Kasper Eistrup's other works."

I think we get a sneak peak in this tweet but I cant see the article

I think it's a good portrait, it captures Frederik well as a person.

Kasper Eistrup was a member of the band Cashmere, which still is one of Frederik's absolute favorite bands, so the two of them had some interesting conversations about this and that while the painting was being painted.
I have the impression from seeing videos of the two together, that they genuinely like and respect each other.
