Look no further Polyesco. Here is a BB video of Frederik at the School Olympics today, in the town of Maribo. (There was also a TV2 segment with him).
VIDEO: Kronprins Frederik gav den en skalle i Maribo | BILLED-BLADET

While Frederik is great with children, he is not an inspiring speaker. Next time Frederik try write a few keywords down in the car on the way.

He was asked what he was best at at school. He couldn't really remember, but it was shot put. (Is that correct?!? Kuglestød = shut put, says Google. You know, the sport where you for whatever reason place a metal-ball under your chin, spin around a few times and throw it away).

:previous: thanks for the video (yes shot put it is )
He might not be the best speaker, but he steps up and does well

"- In the seven years that School Olympics took place in, there are more and more schools and thus children. It is enormously important to be out here and spread a good and positive message, said the crown prince during his visit to the new Maribo Athletic Stadium today.

- The point is to move, it comes to providing the best you can when you have to jump, run or throw. And then it's also about respecting rules and about being good buddy. The three things focus the Olympic ideals too, he says."

a short interview from when Frederik was at the school Olympics on how he and Mary keep their kids active :flowers:
Sådan motionerer Kronprinsparret med deres børn: Vi bevæger os hver dag - Herognu

"- The Crown Princess and I motivate our children to be physically active and move on to play football, tennis and so on. It is part of our own DNA. It is quite natural to have it included in our everyday life, stated the Crown Prince.

Although Christian, Isabella, Vincent and Josephine still too young to play sports at an extreme level, as Frederick himself prefers, he expects that they will one day follow in his footsteps.

- I tell a lot about the things I do when I've been out to cultivate competitions. So that in itself, I am pretty sure will have a spillover effect.

The sport-loving crown prince also urged other parents to exercise with their children.

- If the parents also move and play sports, it is obvious that to get easier for it. Some might need to turn around 180 degrees and say, "Now we start on something completely new," but there is nothing that is too late in my world - no matter how hard it is to get started, he argued."

Written by our sports-reporter, Ulrik Ulriksen.

It is as you know a tradition that Frederik attends the annual School Olympics all over DK. This time in the town of Maribo.
Here he was surrounded by 4-7th graders and he started by giving a pep-talk: "You've gotta push hard". Then he lead the warming up, before the competitions started.
Frederik strolled around having a look at what happened and pausing to appear in loads of selfies.

The finals will take place in Copenhagen in early June and it is expected Frederik will be present there as well.

Among the spectators were a cluster of kindergarten children and Frederik was approached by their teacher: "Would You (formal) mind saying hello to the kindergartners here"? - "Yeah sure". So he sat down among the children and didn't mind coming home later.

Asked about his favorite-sport as a school-boy Frederik replied: "I can't quite remember what I was best at. Throwing I think".

Thanks Polyesco,

I guess Frederik and Christian have taken directly from the sailing competition in Dragør Harbour to the inauguration of the new Skodshoved Harbour a little further up the coast.

Great to take Christian with to the official event... A real dad/son weekend, eh? And good training also... Christian and Bella had their dose of official duties this weekend

Great idea to bring Christian along, and funny to see that the boy is already taking up the tradition of the male DRF members regarding wearing pants in weird colours :D;)

They did. According to the video they changed clothes in the motorboat (from Dannebrog) while at sea.

It's good practice for Christian to attend such events, apart from also being good father-son moments and judging from his smile and general body-language he seems to think it's fun.

:previous: Well, he is Frederik's son and PH's grandson, with that concentration of genes, we may expect absolutely anything fashion-wise from Christian and Vincent in the future! :p
With Vincent there is the added tendency to shout at livestock - that must be a Scottish-Australian trait though...

Don't you think that with Joachim's love for pink pants and other excentric garments and having PH as grandfather, Joachim's sons have much more potential than Frederik's...?;)

From the odd coloured pants, Frederik really isn't that out there fashionwise.

Where I am, lots of young boys wear coloured jeans, so that's not really uncommon.

It's indeed good training.. and at the same time clearly also a pleasure.

F&M master the balance very well. They involve all their children very much, but not too much (as we IMO see with others).

The video from Billedbladet clearly shows the balance F&M so well masters (and always have done) with their children. They are well behaved and aware of their roles (= Christian goes first up of the boat and walks naturally directly over and shakes hands with the organizers). But at the same time they are royal children, who obvious are allowed to be children with all the bubbly childish fun and spontaneity that implies (= Christian who dances limpo a few times under the red ribbon before he cut it).

:previous: To me it looked more like Christian wasn't sure what side of the ribbon to stand.
Cutting ribbons isn't as simple as it looks you know. :p

Joachim's children will either dress arch-conservative or head for San Francisco with flowers in their hair. There will be nothing inbetween. (We really need that hippie-smiley)

It was a lovely event, and great that Frederik brought Christian along. It was already a sailing weekend, and good to show him around and get more comfortable in his role.

The photos of Christian and Frederik are great! It's nice to see Christian helping his dad with some of his royal engagements. I like that Frederik and Mary take their children to mostly child friendly engagements, or events that would interest their children when they want them to take part in a royal duty. Christian appeared to enjoy this event!

Thanks, Iceflower. :flowers:

Had this been Daily Mail, rumors of a future engagement would have been launched now: http://resize-parismatch.ladmedia.f...n-de-Danemark-a-Skovshoved-le-22-mai-2016.jpg

Apart from the hue, aren't dad and son wearing identical blazers?
http://resize-parismatch.ladmedia.f...k-de-Danemark-a-Skovshoved-le-22-mai-2016.jpg

Looks like a little personal interaction between Christian and the boy. Considering the location of Skovshoved it's far from unlikely that Christian (and Frederik) personally know some of those who looked on.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #21, 2016.
Written by our maritime reporter, Marianne Singer.

Christian was officially signed on as mate aboard the boat Nanoq (polar bear) with dad as skipper and two very experienced sailors, Anders Myralf and Jesper Riise as mates.
And this was something Christian took very seriously!
For the three days the race went on, Christian started working when they arrived in the morning, like cleaning the deck. When he wasn't working he followed dad around like a shadow taking in what was said and done.
But what was Christians job on the boat? Anders Myralf explains: "He has some very specific tasks to carry out. There are many strings/ropes (whatever you call them on such a boat) that needs to be pulled and he has four ropes that are his job in various situations.
He's done super-well. He's so full of sprite and he doesn't whimper. He just need something to eat, obviously. We make sure to replenish the stores between sailing (i.e. eat)".

Q: Do you see a future skipper in Christian?
AM: "Easily! It might be that he's competing with his dad one day".

Frederik said: "He's done splendidly".

Saturday, Mary showed up in a boat along with the rest of the children. Naturally Mary had a camera with her. After a couple of hours they sailed home.

Thank you as always, Muhler, for this interesting tidbit from the lives of the Crown Prince and his family. I read that there is a new boat to replace the old Farr 47 Nanoq that, I believe, has been sold to an Australian. The new Nanoq, I believe, is a Dragon class boat, perhaps more suitable for younger sailors like Prince Christian. The 'strings' on a boat, by the way, in English are called 'lines'!:flowers:
