Rio was chosen at the same IOC session in Copenhagen where Frederik was voted member of the IOC. I don't think he would have had a vote at that point.
I remember it because former President Lula of Brazil was so happy, that he gave Frederik a big hug when arriving to a reception hosted by the DRF.
All the other guests were of course shaking hands.

Thanks everybody for the pictures of Frederik's last event
Now it must be time (well deserved) for Frederik and Mary to go on full summer holiday.

Sudoku is great to exercise the brain. I prefer the paper version though

again its the "suit-and-tie" events
a few more articles. the danish Pavilion has made a big impact. Not only was the crown prince present but also various Danish and Brazilian ministers

"Precisely here met business and growth minister Troels Lund Poulsen, HRH Crown Prince Frederik, Foreign Minister Kristian Jensen and a series of large Danish companies - with representatives of the Brazilian authorities and the City of Rio Monday to tell and show what Denmark can be compared to public-private partnerships.
Business and Growth Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, explains that the Brazilian authorities are very interested in sustainable development and energy efficiency solutions, including in relation to their water sector and infrastructure. And here, Danish companies have much to offer."

"Great to see so much excitement, energy and commitment around sustainability and developing cross cultural solutions to the sustainable development goals of the UN. It was an honor to meet the future King of Denmark his Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik. A great start for the planning of the Future of Sustainability in Latin América Conference. Looking forward to the sharing of best sustainable practices and case studies and engaging leaders regarding strategy and sustainability"

Crown Prince Frederik has today held the weekly public audience at Christiansborg Palace.
CP Frederik is Denmark's regent these weeks, while the Queen is out of the country.

(The DRF's court has off course not bothered to add Frederik's name in the calender at today's audience.....)
