Exactly children's relationship with nature is important for the Crown Prince who said he always enjoy to take his own children out in the nature. To both his own and the children's great delight.
- It's fun to have the children out in nature. They discover a new world every time they are out. It may well be that one falls, but one learns also of that, said the Crown Prince.
- We are very pleased that the Crown Prince came and helped to open the Nature's Day. With his own upbringing with nature and his active background he is the perfect person to open the nature week. It's important children and adults come out and discover all the joys of nature, says Ella Maria Bisschop-Larsen, President of the Danish Society for Nature Conservation.

thank you for the note
but why isnt it in the official calendar
He has done things similar in the past, opening nature walks. Good for Frederik
A very important topic to get everyone, especially the young ones out doors.

Not to rain on the parade, but perhaps it was not on the calendar because it has not happened yet. At least not this year. If you click on the link provided by Roskilde, you will get message stating that the article was not found.

The article is from 3rd September 2013. The date of publication is at the bottom of the page. Once again, sorry to rain on your parade, Polyesco.

Just got home from work and see this... Okay, this is really funny. I checked the date up to several times because I, like you, couldn't understand why yet another of F&M's events weren't written in the official calendar. It said 2th September 2014. But now I see the article has been removed for some reason. Strange.
Here is a screenshot of the article I linked to. Under the picture of Frederik there is even written: "Crown Prince also attended the Nature's Day in 2013."

It could not have happened already, because according to this article, "Nature Day" 2014 is 9th September:

Sorry 14th September 2014, not 9th, as I wrote in my previous post.

You're absolutely right, Pammy. This is really fun. If they write an article if the day hasn't occurred yet. Their calendar will later today be updated with their program for the next two weeks, let's see if it mentions the Nature's Day on 14th September... Both F&M has some busy weeks ahead them though, so not sure there's time this years. Canada is the 17th September...

Don't know if Frederik will attend 'Naturens Dag 2014', but the article in question was published 3. september 2013, covering him attending last years event. The photo (to the left) is older, from 2010.

For some reason it just popped up incorrectly dated 2014.

I remember reading somewhere that in the old days of the Viking raids, they kidnapped the most beautiful women and brought them back to improve the gene pool. It worked.

Long feature and good coverage of Frederik at The Invictus Games in tonight's news. Frederik spoke about how proud he is of the Danish wounded soldiers - that despite their disabilities after war damage they have risen from the bottom and moved on.
ADDED:
A 3:38 minutes long TV2 interview with Frederik with TV2 journalist Winnie Laursen. It was clips from that interview there was shown in the evening news. Frederik who has a long military training behind him, has three times also visited the Danish soldiers during deployment in Afghanistan. Therefore he understands the unity there exists among the former deployed soldiers. And he feels like one of them.

Frederik is patron of the foundation 'Soldaterlegatet' /Soldier's Grant.
"The purpose of the foundation is to support military personnel and civilians of Denmark posted in military missions abroad, and who during missions for the Danish defense suffers physical or psychological harm that fall in war or war-like conditions or who die in some other way.
review benefit purpose of the foundation. "
He has met many times with wounded Danish veterans and their rehabilitation through sports

he is with the Danish Minister of Defence Nicolai Wammen and Chief of Defence, General Peter Bartram. And Since Denmark is one of the 14 countries participating, im sure it was on their radar.
