Recently added to his calendar, Frederik " shall initiate visit to Silicon Valley, USA
August 25, 2014"
H.K.H. Kronprinsen aflægger iværksætterbesøg i Silicon Valley, USA - Kongehuset
Does anyone have more information on what he is going for? the calendar on the DRF doesnt give more information.
I have not found more information yet, but Silicon Valley in California is home to many of the largest companies of the world technology and thousands of new small businesses.
Some Danish companies as well

Its frustrating the lack of information
but thank you Roskilde
The earthquake was big one, injures and damages. without knowing the exact location and when Frederik arrives, its about an hour and 40 minutes distance. If Frederik was already in Silicon Valley he would have felt something.
There is an Innovation Center of Denmark in Silicon Valley
News from Innovation Center Denmark
Hopefully we get more information

He stopped my favorite hummus restaurant and I missed it! And yes, he's wearing a t-shirt (probably trying to blend in with local techies).

Regarding the earthquake: there was major damage in Napa, but that's 80 miles north of Silicon Valley. No damage down here, but some of my friends felt it while I slept through it. It was a "deep" quake so the impact was big, but concentrated closer to the epicenter.

Thanks!
Wow, you guys are good researchers! Thanks for sharing the pics from Prince Frederik's California trip. It's neat to think that a royal is out here in my neck of the woods.

A more Comprehensive article on Frederik's visit to the Innovation Center Denmark in Silicon Valley
Crown Prince praises the Danish pioneers in Silicon Valley | Silicon Valley Tech Talk
"In his speech, Crown Prince Frederik referenced the success of the California wine industry as well as the fascinating, impressive, and inspirational story of Silicon Valley. He expressed his admiration of Danish entrepreneurs, praising them as modern pioneers that have taken a chance by going all in, moving their projects to a different continent, a different business culture, and a different level of competition.
Innovation Center Denmark facilitates the entry of technology-based Danish companies into Silicon Valley, connects research, capital, and companies, innovates business models and market strategies, and delivers the inspiration that drives innovation.
Dedicated to the growth of Danish companies, the center has already introduced more than 60+ startups to the Valley through SCALEit. The goal of the program is to help talented entrepreneurs bridge the gap between startup and growth."
it seems he was with good company
"Other Danish panelists and CEOs with successful companies in Silicon Valley included Mikkel Svane from Zendesk, David Helgason of Unity Technologies and serial entrepreneur Juha Christensen with Cloudmade."
A very great visit, just wish it was promoted better

" Danish Companies Migrate to Silicon Valley
The Danish imprint on Silicon Valley is on the rise, as more entrepreneurs from the small Scandinavian country relocate to Silicon Valley. This past year alone, more than forty companies from Denmark have consulted with Innovation Center Denmark in Palo Alto when taking the leap to California. A conference at Stanford University on collaboration with Denmark was opened by HRH the Crown Prince.
We bridge the gap between startup and growth by helping companies into the ecosystem here. It is tremendously important for Denmark that Danish start-ups can gain success here and the interest of HRH the Crown Prince is very useful in raising awareness of the possibilities for the startups but also for the larger Danish companies who can benefit from collaboration with Silicon Valley."
I guess this trip was useful in opening doors and grabbing the attention for danish businesses.

He visited ICDK and Stanford, where he opened a very successful conference on entrepreneurial collaboration and a reception for more than a hundred Danish and American participants.

Yep, and my youngest one and I went with the stroller to see him (less than five minutes from our home) But the whole Energy Tower was closed and only invited could come into the yard. So it wasn't much we could see, but we got to see Frederik in Krone8 driving past us
But before that Frederik has been busy this noon.
There has been government reshuffle in Denmark again... again... again
And therefore Frederik has received the new ministers at Amalienborg Palace:
H.K.H. Kronprinsen modtager økonomi- og indenrigsminister Margrethe Vestager i afskedsaudiens kl. 11.30. - Kongehuset
It's the first time the audiences are with Frederik when he isn't regent. But with the Queen on summer cruise she handed over the job to Frederik.

Private and unofficial (not written in the official calendar) Frederik this Monday (September 1th) opened the Nature's Day week with school children from 4th grade.
Article: Kronprinsen og 4.X løb Naturens Dag i gang | OrganicToday.dk - Nyheder om klima, natur og miljø
Exactly children's relationship with nature is important for the Crown Prince who said he always enjoy to take his own children out in the nature. To both his own and the children's great delight.
- It's fun to have the children out in nature. They discover a new world every time they are out. It may well be that one falls, but one learns also of that, said the Crown Prince.
- We are very pleased that the Crown Prince came and helped to open the Nature's Day. With his own upbringing with nature and his active background he is the perfect person to open the nature week. It's important children and adults come out and discover all the joys of nature, says Ella Maria Bisschop-Larsen, President of the Danish Society for Nature Conservation.
