I personally wouldn't mistake Mary for the bride. Her cardigan is pink, and with it off, the whole gettup looks nothing like a bridal dress (unless brides wear black tops with green circles or whatever).
I reckon people are only picking on her because they can, and this is the only thing they can come up with.
Ho hum... wish something more interesting was happening.
I think you misunderstood my coment, maybe because I kind of joke here and there while typing a post just to make it lighter to read. Those who know me, like Larzen or UserDane, know perfectly well I am devoted follower the Cult of Mary (sorry, I can't help being clownish either ) and in more than once I have come to defend the lady from really vicious people who just hate her guts.

That said, I'll try to put my coments on the dress she wore in a different way so you see I am not picking on Mary: :)
If you have a friend or a relative and you and that person assist to an event, a particular restaurant or any social activity and that person comes out of the house wearing the wrong thing, won't you point it out?
Won't you be a pal and tell him or her:
"...you know, I think that's not the outfit you should wear for that place, let's go back and take a look on what else you have in the closet..."
Same thing here on the comments about her choice of (a gala) white dress for a friend's wedding but, to top it off, the use of a cardigan over a gala dress. Like wearing a baseball cap with a tuxedo, a business suit with flip flop sandals. We all like Mary but, come on, as I said we can't be blind and not comment on a fashion disaster.

And I don't put all the responsibility on Mary, 50% of it should go to her assistants that are supposed to know ahead of time what outfit to prepare for her selection for this or that activity. And, as Alysa pointed out, ...a nice formal shawl instead of that cardigan...would have made a big diference too.

Did anyone think that Mary didn't intend to wear the cardigan but due to the weather (a little bit cooler than planned) it was just there..in the car?

Norwegian Se og HŘr has a new webiste and they have some stories on Mary and Frederik, mostly lifted from other publications

This one is from Ekstrabladet orginally, its from the budget that was recently published and it says Frederik and Mary has 4 million DKr for personal consumption, or 11 000 dkr a day Ofcourse they blame it on Mary and call her the Nordic Imelda Marcus (dont really know who that is )

One about Marys stylist Anja falling in love with one of Frederik and Marys bodyguards and the bodyguard had to be reasigned elsewhere

A popularity contest from BT originally. Most popular is Margrethe followed by Frederik, Alexandra and Mary, with Joachim comming last

Larzen, Imelda Marcos was the wife of a president of The Philippines, famous for spending the money of her husband and of the country in all kinds of luxuries especially in her immense collection of shoes.

Denmark's Crown Princess Mary leans out of a tram before taking the driver's seat Tuesday May 23, 2005 in Skjoldenaesholm, Denmark. Crown Prince Frederik and the Australian born Crown Princess Mary test drove on Tuesday a vintage tram that the Australian state of Victoria gave as a Christening gift to the couple's son, Prince Christian.

thanks for the photos, love the detail on marys jacket and the splash of purple looks good on her. why doesn't PF get his clothes fitted? those jacket sleeves are way to long and in one picture it looks like purple velvet!! please tell me he doesn't have another purple velvet suit, remember the one he wore to the sailors event OMG

I certainly hope that he has a purple velvet suit - or any other colour! I just love some colour on men's otherwise boring clothes (colourwise).

Wow Madeleine, how did you manage to get so many photos, especially such close-ups... even one of her shoe, which I really like her shoes btw.
I think Frederick's jacket is a very dark burgundy (which goes with his pink striped shirt) I like a guy who's confident enough to wear pink.
Poor Frederick is turning grey though... :o

The purple scarf is so pretty. The color really comes out against the black. Thanks for the pictures Adry and Madeleine! :)

I wonder if Mary had fun driving the tram....

couldn't resist replying to this one well, too bad i can't understand the Ekstrabladet article, but Princess Mary ought not to imitate Imelda Marcos...we all love shoes, but i do hope she won't do what Imelda did. especially at the expense of the people's money.

back to the topic--i agree with you guys, the purple scarf makes a perfect partner for the dark dress! :)

Just had a look at Madeleine's pictures, they really are great. Thanks so much for sharing. I love that colour on CP Mary.
