Yes indeed. And in that perspective the article also tells - between the lines - that Alexandra, though having spent the first 30 and some.. years of her life in Hong Kong - is so very very Danish by now that even safety goggles is a natural part of her newyears eve .
Actually I am astonished that you, alex001 and sgl havn't heard of using safety goggles for children when setting of fireworks at newyears eve.........
The safety goggles doesn't spoil the fun for the children. Not at all. Quit the opposite. It gives them the thrilling sensation of doing something very dangerous - but being safe while doing so.
And the parents - well they know that their children woun't be between the unfortunate few who ends up at the hospital with damages to the eyes and perhaps being blinded for the rest of their lives.

I agree with you, Lilla and UserDane. It does make sense to wear safety googles. As a child, my husband and his friends used to throw firecrackers at each other during the 4th of July (an American holiday where fireworks are used). This horrifies me, and it is a miracle that none of them were injured. I am sure that the boys enjoyed the fireworks.
And to PamK-I too wish that I could look as good in white jeans as Alexandra does. She looks fantastic! Does anyone know what type of exercise she does?

I've never heard of them either, but the idea is wonderful. Many communities in California have banned the sale of fireworks. Typically cities now have large professional displays at stadiums or parks on July 4th. Still, it doesn't stop people from buying the illegal fireworks in Mexico.

Here is a link - Fyens Stiftstidende - Assens - to a picture of children wearing these eye protection googles. It is from a demonstration for 6th graders about how to handle firework and act around it.

Hi, UserDane there seem to be a market for safty googles in the US. Perhaps you and I should make a business in exporting them

I agree with you Lilla. Maybe that's why she is still well like in Demark. Because she is very very Danish.

I have just checked the link now and it functions. But it is only possible to read the headline. The rest of the article is simply to crabbed. But from the headline I can understand that the article is about an event also mentioned in the article posted by you yesterday about Alexandra celebrating Newyears eve with the boys.
In that article is written - translated by google and directly quoted:
"Along with actor Ghita Nørby she was among the famous who were invited to the celebration of Frenchman Louis Braille 200-year birthday - the man who invented Braille - the blind alphabet and notation system.
In her capacity as patron of the Danish Association of the Blind was Alexandra welcomed by the blind foreningsformand Jens Broman and Ghita Nørby guided then all the audience through a program of organ works played by the blind organists Willy Egmose and Kjeld Jensen and Thorvald cooled in trumpet. The men will this year play in a long series of events across the country to celebrate the French man who made it possible for the blind to learn the alphabet and read notes.
Afterwards Alexandra took time for a chat and a glass of champagne, after which she, together with the private secretary Nina Fabricius sped away in a waiting Mercedes S500 limousine with driver".

Oh, that is too bad. Fireworks does give great fun - especially for children. IMO it is much better to provide the children with proper safty equipment.

Illegal fireworks are brought into Denmark as well. It is some heavy and very dangerous fireworks - allmost like bombs. It is done by irresponsible grown ups who wants to make a profit in onward sale. I don't think it is possible to hinder that nomatter what precautions are made,

The Danes are raging over Countess Alexandra and Martin Jørgensen's scandals and lyxliv. After the divorce from Prince Joachim was Countess millions from a secret court, a lyxhus on Svanemölevej and pay Danes 1.8 million Danish kroner in tax money to the Countess and her new annually. For the compensation expects the Danes Alexandra and Martin should have a representative and moderate lifestyle. Externally speaking, Alexandra comprehensive and good-looking, but her lifestyle with luxurious brak dinners at Copenhagen Fine Dining, the environment renovation of the house and first class tickets abroad is not seen kindly.
'Porn King'
Martin has reduced their mission as a photographer and made itself into a more lucrative business. Danish Se og Hør reveals that he has become part owner of the company Netpublications which among other things, publishes the magazine Monkey Magazine light dressed Thai girls. Talking on TV
In connection with Joachim and Marie confirmed that they expect children to spring decided Alexandra to speak out about the divorce in a TV interview with Reimer Bo in Danish DR 1.
- Alexandra has always been good at making use of the press and it can be many reasons why she set up on an interview right now, says historian Jon Bloch Skipper of the billed-Bladet.
The Danes were waiting with bated breath for the big revelation about the cause of the Joachims and Alexandra divorce. But they had to wait in vain, Countess Alexandra did not say a word about why she and the prince chose to go separate ways. But it is clear that it was Alexandra who took the initiative to divorce.
- It was a very difficult decision and it was not something I decided from one day to the next. Of course, it would have been much easier if there was a decision whose consequences were only me. But this was a decision that affected others, too, the case of Joachim and the case of children, told Alexandra"

bbb, it is nessesary to take what Svenska Damtidning writes with a grain of salt. As I wrote: Svensk Damtidning is very much into fiction with this article.......................
They are doing what their readers like. Exhibiting Denmark/Danes or symbols of Denmark in a very unflattering way.
Danish tittle tattle magazines do the same regarding Sweden/Swedes and Swedish symbols.
This is a part of the loving, competative and bellicose relationship between Sweden and Denmark and between Swedes and Danes. And the truth doesn't matter that much............

I doubt that very much. In fact I am sure it is only a made up story written on the basis of someting that is complete innocent and uninteresting. It it was true Danish papers and magasines would have brougt the story as well - they haven't.

I have never heard about Martin Jorgenson being involved in pornography. Like Lilla and BBB, I find it very hard to believe that Alexandra would allow someone involved in an industry such as pornography to be a step-father to her sons. I also think that if this were true, many of the patronages that Alexandra publicly represents would have asked her to step down. To me, this sounds like creative fiction on the part of the magazine.

SE and Mr - Martin Jørgensen: Thai-girls on the net
This is the original article from S&H about this business that Martin's apparently involved in.
