Josephine and Vincent are adorable children. Josephine looks a lot like Mary, the only one of the kids who really does, IMO.

I agree. She is a mini-Mary

The twins are adorable! They take so much from both parents its hard to say who they look like.
Unfortunately I didn't like the pictures and I am surprised they where taken by a photographer. To me, they looked like a passport picture, even the ones that Mary took of the other children (not that I was fond of them either) where better than these. I personally think, if they decide to release pictures on such occasions then they should be more thought out.

The twins are absolutely adorable! Josephine is definitely a mini-Mary, and I think that Vincent looks very similar to his older brother Christian. I think it's interesting, but they appear to have slightly different colored eyes. Vincent's appear to be very bright blue, whereas Josephine's look more green or blue/green.

Have definitely inspired me to take my children a trip to the photographer.

I'm not a twin expert, but isn't it only natural when they are fraternal twins, and not identical. Fraternal twins haven't the same DNA, but is actually just two siblings lying in their mother's stomach at the same time and born at the same time. In fact, Vincent and Josephine don't need to resemble each other more than Christian and Bella. Or am I wrong?

Absolutely correct. I'm not a twin expert either, but my cousins are boy/girl twins (and thereby naturally fraternal twins) and they look no more like each other than they look like their older brother.

Josephine is so so so Beautiful, I love her smile! I think she will join Infanta Leonor and Princess Alexia as one of the most beautiful princesses. Vincent melts my heart, he so CUTE!!!!!
Ohhh this makes me wish to have fraternal boy/girl twins as well.

I agree, Josephine is so Mary, she's the one who resembles Mommy the most. However I must say Christian has more facial features from Mary than Frederik, his nose and mouth is so Mary as well.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #03, 2014.
Written by Marianne Singer.
As you know the twins turned three last week and that was celebrated at home at Amalienborg.
Thursday around 14.00 Isabella and Christian came home from school and a little before 15.00 the guests began to arrive.
And they were:
Christian Levin with two children, Peter and Leonora. From the picture I'd estimate Peter to be around eleven, but Leonora seems to be the right age for the twins.
Christian Levin share a keen interest for horses with Mary and has been riding with both M&F.
Caroline Ahlefeldt also came with her six year old Julius and four year old Iselin (girl). - Judging from the large present she carried, my guess is it's a gift for both the twins.
Rikke and Michael Juul Brandt with no less than three children of just the right age.
Rikke also has a keen interest in riding horses.
Helle Reedtz-Thott was there too with three children, Ludvig aged eight, Holger aged six and Eloise aged four.
And finally Peter Bang with two children.
But farmor Margrethe was there too, she drove across the square, complete with PET escort, at 15.18 sharp. Grandpapa Henrik wasn't there.
Isabella was seen standing in one of the windows on the ground floor looking for the guests to arrive. - There is no picture of her, presumably because it's a direct breach of the Danish legislation of privacy to photograph someone standing in the window of their own home.
- Perhaps we should set up a kind of database, with names, pictures and a brief background info of the inner circle of M&F's friends, (and their children,) as an easy to go reference point? I.e. a kind of data base, where only hard facts are added, but otherwise no other posts are admitted/kept? (You now: a folder about say the Ahlefeldts are set up, bio and pictures added. When someone has some hard facts to add they post in the thread. If the facts are deemed relevant, it's added to the folder. The poster is thanked and the post with the new data is deleted. Keeping it as simple as possible).
I think it could come in handy. Any volunteer to set that up? What do our mods say?

Thank you for the BB translation Muhler.
The database sounds a really useful reference if kept updated.
I am happy to help - my sources will be limited to the web though at first. Perhaps if a two or three of us divide the known friends and take it from there?

It's of course basically up to our mods, but I think your contribution will be very much appreciated. Perhaps you can join up with a couple of Danish members?
And you know where to find additional pictures, if you need them.

I do believe the twins started at Isabella's old nursery school last year.
Garnisons Sogns Menigheds Børnehave
Little Henrik also attends when in Copenhagen.

Exactly. They started in Garnison's kindergarten in the spring last year. Here's the post about them being enrolled to the kindergarten: http://www.theroyalforums.com/forums...ml#post1542727

I'm happy to help as well.
But a 'database' sounds frightening for someone like me - I'm not particular technical...

Let's have a look at a very, very old Danish tradition again.
Fastelavn is coming up and that means, with almost absolute certainty, that Isabella and Christian but this year also the twins (and bette Henrik as well) will dress up.
Here is what a Scottish ex-pat writes (in English) about the current tradition for children: Diane's Daily Denmark
Then I'll deal with the historical background. (You ought to read the link first).
Fastelavn goes back to Medieval times and it was a celebration in connection with the religious fasting.
And basically people got drunk, had a few fistfights, made a lot of noise, dressed up and made a lot of mischief. In short: had a great time.
That also included frighting away the Devil and as cats and especially black cats were symbols of the devil. Cats were put inside a barrel and people, adults that is, took turns beating away on the barrel until the bottom fell out, along with the more or less battered cat, which was probably clubbed to death as well.
The live cat inside the barrel screamed and hissed but that was part of the entertainment, because it was the Devil who screamed through the cat.
In a world that was often frightening and hard to understand and where you had a very little influence over your life, this was also a way of getting back at the Devil, who was presumably behind many of your misfortunes.
Over the years this has of course changed and it is now only a symbolic cat that is being beaten. The religious aspect is practically unknown now.
Here is a YouTube vid of a modern Fastelavn:
And the one who hits the barrle so that the bottom falls out is proclaimed cat-king or cat-queen.
