I'm 100% with you. I too hope they will use Greenland pictures for Isabella's birthday – particularly because she received the beautiful East Greenlandic kalaallisuut. They could even use Greenland pictures again for Christian's birthday for all I care. I loved that visit
|
Oh I hope they will use Greenland pictures for Bella too. The Greenland pictures from Franne Voigt are wonderful. I have a feeling that one of F&M's children when they grow up (maybe Minik and Ivalo) will visit Greenland for a longer period.

Yes also Christian has used the sweater The sweater is btw from Crown Princess Marie-Chantal's children collection.

I know, I am a little late for the birthday party but I have to say what lovely photos. I like that they were taken on the Dannebrog and from Greenland. The twins have such happy and sweet little faces. with a real sparkle in their eyes. My favourite photo, the one of them together as someone said they appear to be planning their next adventure.

It will of course depend a lot on how Frederik X and queen Mary will continue the traditions.
But the present traditions will suggest that it will be his first official flagday. And there will probably be plenty of portraits and interviews with him around his birthday.
He will ride in a carriage escorted by the guards hussars, with his parents (if QMII is still around she will probably leave center stage to Christian and his family) to Christiansborg, where he will attend his first State Council after having signed a pledge to obey the Constitution and that also means that he from then on can act as Rigsforstander (Regent if QMII is no more).
He will also appear on the balcony at Amalienborg and perhaps there will be a televised party in the evening.

I don't think Henrik and Margrethe would agree!! Christian will be 10 years old this year, 8 years later QM will only be 83 and might still be alive = Queen with her prince consort by her side

I just saw this and found it quite cute
From a Kent Grill Als on Facebook:
"I immediately came in a good mood when I found this one during my gardener working in Kancellihaven in Fredensborg... It's just so fine! Regards Kent Gartner in Fredensborg."

Yes the ball has most likely disappeared in a hedge a few years ago, maybe Christian now will gets his soccer ball again?
The bite marks very likely belongs to dear Ziggy
Looks like Christian uses his second name Valdemar in school - not surprising after Christian is a very popular name among Danish children which mean they all have to add a extra name.

I don't think Fred goes for all the hoopla, personally. If he is at the helm by then, it might be less.
I also think Fred did not like all of that attention - if Christian is shy or nervous, I think Fred is much more in tune with his kids' needs. I don't think he will force a very nervous kid to give a speech.
JMHO, of course, I think Fred and Mary approach parenting and the monarchy differently than his parents.

How adorable Christian Valdemar also sounds very regal – a perfect fit for a future king.
I wonder if Isabella uses Henrietta in school like Christian uses Valdemar because, good grief, there are a lot of tiny Isabellas around nowadays

Summary of a Q&A in Billed Bladet #12, 2015.
Where a Karin Kristiansen would like to know whether Christian has an iPad.
Jon Bloch Skipper responds that he sure has, or at least Christian has access to an iPad. That was disclosed by Bella last year in Switzerland, where she told the BB reporter Marianne singer that when Christian wasn't skiing, he was playing on the iPad.
So, M&F's children are not that different from other children in that respect either.

Today it's Isabella's birthday Already 8 years old! Let's hope the Royal Court publishes new pictures - I hope - we get some of her from Greenland in her beautiful Greenlandic national costume. Happy birthday, Bella.
She will very likely be awakened with birthday songs and gifts, then driving to school and share out a cake to her classmates and then be celebrated by family and friends when she gets home. Guessing granddad John Donaldson has stayed in Denmark to her birthday.
While we wait here one of my absolute favorite portraits of her:

Happy birthday Princess Isabella! | Royalista
While waiting for any official pics, here are some from Royalista.
Notice the one with Bella tapping her fingers in sync with the music on the balcony at Amalienborg on QMII's birthday.
BB also has a gallery: http://www.billedbladet.dk/kongelige...abella#slide-0
Notice pic #21, where Bella sticks out her hand, presumably to shake hands with someone. While mor Mary keeps a vigilant eye on what is going on.
Pic #35: A good grief?
