Cecilienhof Palace in Potsdam, Germany was built from 1914 to 1917.
Cecilienhof was the last palace that was built by the House of Hohenzollern.

The reconstruction of the Berlin Palace continues but there's a bit controversy over what should adorn the dome of the palace, the old palace had a cross.

Construction workers have discovered the foundations of the medieval St. Nicolai, St. Mary Franciscan Friary and Church near the rebuilt Schlossplatz. The Friary was dissolved in the late 1530's and later demolished.

Prince Georg Friedrich, sued at the District Court of Koblenz to the State of Rhineland-Palatinate, City of Sankt Goar, and the palace hotel for being an owner of the ruined Rheinfels Castle. The Prince said, the family has owned the castle since the 19th century, until the City of St Goar claimed to be the owner in 1924.

This is a wonderful project that restores much of the prewar streetscape. I'd love to see an exact replica but I appreciate that that would be impractical. The Tuileries should be next!

Here's a model of what the area around the Palace and Cathedral looked in 1900.

The Berlin Stadtschloss and I'm afraid to say I do not like the controversial modern facade and it does little for me.

An Ard Ri, may I ask why you do not like the facade?
Simply the art does nothing for you or the political and historical explosive behind the "Fassade" which literraly means both the outiside of a building and the external impact of the prussian reign(hiding all it's controversial contens).
Thanks, interesting discussion here.
