On Saturday, July 3rd, Prince Dom Pedro Alberto de Orleans e Bragança married Miss Alessandra Haegler Fragoso Pires, in a ceremony held at the Church of the Imperial Brotherhood of Nossa Senhora da Glória do Outeiro, in Rio de Janeiro. Due to current circumstances, the marriage was much more restricted.

Prince Dom Pedro Alberto is the eldest of four children – two men and two women – of Prince Dom Alberto and Princess Dona Maritza de Orleans and Bragança. He descends, through his mother, from names such as Tomé de Souza, the first Governor General of Brazil, and the Viscount of Torre de Garcia d’ Ávila, the first holder of the Empire. His wife – who received the title of Princess of Orleans and Bragança in the act of marriage, with the treatment of Highness – comes from a traditional Swiss-Brazilian family.

Hospitalization of Prince Dom Luiz, Head of the Imperial House of Brazil

Last week, after a few days of feeling unwell, Prince Dom Luiz de Orleans and Bragança, Head of the Imperial House of Brazil, was hospitalized in order to undergo examinations and remain under observation by the doctors.

I think there was a mistranslation. The phrase "with an expected increase in the coming days" should be translated as "with an expectation of being released (from hospital) in the coming days" .

He is twice-widowed: his first wife Rony Kuhn de Souza died aged nearly 41 on 14 January 1979 after just four years, four months and twelve days of marriage, two days after giving birth to their only son Pedro Thiago.
Two years, six months and two days later he married his second wife, then very young (nearly 18 and eight months) Patrícia Alexandra Branscombe by whom he had another son Felipe Rodrigo (b.31 December 1982; she died on 20 November 2009, two days before her 47th birthday).

His younger son & his wife Gisele de Paula Pereira also made him a grandfather of Maria Isabel in 2018.

Under the strict terms of the Brazilian constitution of 1824, he would be therefore de jure the Emperor of Brazil. He is also, by right of primogeniture, the head of the princely House of Orleans and Braganza.
