Restoration of Monarchy in Austria

Is there any chance of restoring the monarchy in Austria?

There have been elections recently. Neither the ÖVP of the young Bundeskanzler Kurz (Christian-democrats), nor the social-democrat SPÖ, nor the Conservative FPÖ, have mentioned the monarchy in their manifestos.

The Schwarz-Gelben Allianz (Black-Yellow Alliance), the major monarchist Union in Austria has tried to join in various regional and national elections but in no any Wahlkreiz (constituency) it ever managed to collect enough registrations of support* to field a candidate.

* A registration of support, a so called Understutzungserklärung, has to be filed at the municipality or a Court of Justice. So it is not "just a click" on a website.

It's the centenary of the death of the Emperor Karl tomorrow, so I'd assume that's why a meeting's being held now. But I don't think there's exactly very much likelihood of a restoration!

If they truly belive that they (and not the citizens of Austria) will choose who to reign in case of monarchy being reinstated and that the rules pre-1918 should be applied to a modern monarchy in the 2020:s (semi-salic sucession, forcing your children to marry other royals to be allowed to stay in the line of sucession etc) then it just proves that none of them is fit to reign...

Regarding the equal-marriage rule which was relaxed by Otto von Habsburg and discarded by his son Karl, they arguably were just one generation behind the reigning European houses, as many of the latter continued to enforce such rules as late as the 1970s (for example, Sweden and Denmark).

Regarding the male-preference succession, it could also be argued that they are - for now - likewise just one generation behind most European reigning houses. Equal succession rights for women technically did not become the norm for European monarchies until the 21st century (although in practice the last firstborn daughter outside of Monaco to be bypassed was Märtha Louise of Norway, who was born in 1971). However, if a future firstborn daughter of Ferdinand Zvonimir is bypassed for a son or male cousin, then they will be considerably behind the reigning European monarchies (Liechtenstein and Monaco excepted).

I don’t know much about the other Habsburg-branches except Lorenz, Amedeo, Maximilian and Joachim of Belgium (who according to the old rules are nr 4, 5, 6 and 7 in the austrian line of sucession or perhaps 3, 4, 5 and 6 if we exclude Karl’s son Ferdinand-Zvonimir), [...]

According to the rules which had legal effect when Austria was a monarchy, both Ferdinand Zvonimir and Maximilian would have been excluded from the Imperial House as their mothers, although noble, were a mere Baroness and Nobile respectively.
