i'm sure we will see most of the spanish family back in madrid. the most important politicians have suspended their holidays and i would suspect the royal family will do the same.
it was such a catastrophic event and i really feel for the families of the victims... hopefully those in hospital will recover.

What a shocking and terrible tragedy for all those involved and their families. I was reading about it in the newspaper and it is horrific. May God be with all those who have suffered. I do not envy Letizia and Felipe having to visit people after this event, what can one say to people after something like this?

However, I know they will be as tactful, discreet and empathetic as they were after the Atocha bombings.

Those poor people.

The King Juan Carlos I of Spain and Queen Sofia greet the members of the fire brigade that took part in the emergency works after the flight of the airlines Spanair heading to Canary Islands chashed and burst into flames after taking off from the terminal 4 of the Barajas international airport, killing 153 people and leaving 19 injured. The accident is the worst disaster in the last 25 years of the Spanish commercial aviation history.

The Spanish Royal Family is exemplary, both in times of joy as well as deep grief, they know exactly what to do to either support and comfort.

A very special commodity, never to be taken for granted.

God Bless Them,and Spain.

I agree Lucien but especially this case is major. It's a national catastrophy. I am 100% sure that members of any other royal family would be out and about now if the same happened in their country. The RF who would not go out to comfort and share the grief with their people deserved to be made redundant on the spot.

Unhappy

I fully expected that all the Spanish royals would do just this. Their country is in a time of need and, as they showed with the Madrid train bombing and other events, that they stand for their nation in all circumstances. My sympathies to the people of Spain, the victims, and the survivors.

It#s wonderful to see the Spanish royals wth their people. Imo, this is one of their biggest strengths, their abilityto connect with their people during difficult times. I wish my own Royals were able to do the same thing

I agree with you, Yamamah. It is nice to see them offering what comfort they can to everyone involved in the tragedy. I think shows how concerned they are for others and try to do what they can during this awful time.
