Monday is the traditional receipt to the authorities of Palm, last year only there were the Kings and the Dukes of Palm, let's hope that this year we see to the whole family, because the Princes already have gone away of Asturias and probably return to Palm to represent.

The Princes have returned to Majorca to spend in the island those who will be their last days of vacations and before beginning a season into which the arrival of their first son they will change the life. Yesterday, don Felipe and dona Letizia returned to Marivent proceeding from Madrid, to where they flew last Thursday night after passing the evening in Oviedo. On Thursday of last week they were from Majorca to Madrid and, after being present on Saturday at the funeral for 17 military men died in Afghanistan, moved up to Sardeu (Asturias) in car. The only displacements have not been these from their arrival to the island last July 24, since, since it is known, on August 3 they went out of Majorca and did not return until the 14th, ten days in unknown whereabouts, not for them, clearly. A summer trajín to obtain what don Felipe and dona Letizia were claiming: was passing together and as calmly as possible last summer in which they will be two.
Last Wednesday, while don Felipeand dona Letizia were having dinner in Ribadesella's restaurant together with Menchu Álvarez del Valley, the rest of the royal family was walking in block along Port Portals to accompany the small ones of the house on one of their favorite destinies: a pizzeria. The Kings, the dukes of Lugo, the dukes of Palm, more Tatiana and Jean Frouchead, cousins of dona Sofía, sat down in a great table to enjoy seeing Felipe and Victoria de Marichalar and Juan, Pablo d Miguel Urdangarin realize of an enormous pizza with the passion that the children put when they leave them to eat what they like. The small Irene remained in house, where her mother, the infanta Cristina, celebrates every three hours the ritual of the lactation. More normality, impossible, though in case of the royal family the commonness of other families finishes for it looks like an extraordinary fact.
Yesterday same, the Queen took her grandsons to Marineland's water park in order that they were enjoying the dolphins that there show themselves. A few days ago, the royal grandsons pledged in going to the swings and the task was to meet on some playpark in Palm in which the children could play to taste with small others that, blessed innocence, went away to house without knowing that they had done shift in the slide with the grandsons of the king of Spain. They still have a few years to support the anonymity and their respective parents want that they take advantage of this stage before others they remember those who are. So much the dukes of Lugo as those of Palm know about what they speak and the difficult thing that proves to do normal things without turning them into a national event. That count each other it, if not, to Jaime de Marichalar, whom a few photos present as someone who baths in the sea with the put vest without nobody thinks that probably they it threw at the water.

Small dolphins

The queen Sofía accompanies her grandsons to visiting Marineland's park
One evening of the most entertaining and enterteining, besides playful for them be too the Royal House. Dona Sofía accompanied of her daughter the infanta Cristina and the small ones, Juan Urdangarín with his brothers, Miguel and Pablo Nicolás, together with their primitos, Victoria and Felipe, visited Marineland's park. An almost obligatory and traditional visit in the vacations of the Royal Family during their stay in the Island.
From always, dona Sofía has inculcated and woken up the interest of her grandsons towards the animals. The visit to Marineland consists of seeing the interesting show of the dolphins, jumps, pirouettes and even the songs that interpret the mammals before a public in the main infantile. The last session of yesterday, that of 17.30 hours had so illustrious attendees, before the expectation of the tourists who were hoping that they were giving the beginning of the spectacle. It yes, before the most indiscreet looks of the public, some of these did not hesitate to seize the opportunity and to do photos or to record in video the Queen and her daughter, the infanta Cristina accompanied of the children.

While, the mass media were waiting in the door for the exit. It yes, doing once again, show of her sharm and facilitating the informative labor of the presents, dona Sofía posed before the cameras together with her five grandsons, for lack of the small Irene, who we do not hesitate to see her next year accompanying their cousins to seeing the show of the dolphins. Pablo Nicolás, Felipe Juan Froilán, Miguel and Juan Valentín applauded, ran and they spent it in big during the time that they were in Marineland. With regard to Victoria Federica, to emphasize that she was looking like a princesita.

Within little more than two months, princess Letizia will give birth to her first child, and there are already some people thinking of next year, as the first summer of the child. This year has been the last one of Don Felipe and Doña Letizia as just a couple, and the pregnancy ended up conditioning the summering of the whole royal family. Tomorrow, the Kings will offer a dinner to the Balearic authorities, on the occasion of the official end of their vacations, although Tuesday, before returning to Madrid, Don Juan Carlos will receive in Marivent the president of the Government.

Another summer comes now to an end, reaching the number of 30 years that Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía have enjoyed in Mallorca, 29 of them as kings. Marivent has seen the Prince and the Infantas growing up and, since 1995, when Doña Elena married Jaime de Marichalar, every summer has had its newness: firstly, the grandchildren and, finally, the princess of Asturias. During all these years, the royal family has become part of the Mallorcan landscape: firstly, the regattas; then, the excursions to Cabrera, on board of the Fortuna; official dinners, shopping, among other activities and displacements, when the sad circumstances impose a mourning period.

Nevertheless, this summer, the Prince decided to break the tradition and not participate in the regattas of the Copa del Rey, to spend those days together with Doña Letizia, and thus live day by day her pregnancy. It was not an excuse, although the Prince was already looking for a pretext to leave his participation in a competition which is very demanding and brings him some discomfort, due to the over exhibition he was facing year after year. Don Felipe, without realising it, offered a motif to controversy, which fell upon princess Letizia, because the responsibility of her husband abandoning the regattas (a liking that she does not share) was wholly attributed to her.

However, that was not the only problem (since there are many people who think that the Princes must abandon the field of the regattas, and leave an atmosphere that many people consider as elitist). The big controversy has been linked to the possibility that the Princes end up going away from Mallorca, transferring their summer residence to Asturias.

It’s certain that the Princes (who, nobody can deny, develop their work in a wholy dedicated way) consider that they do not have any obligation to be everyday under the spotlights. Don Felipe and Doña Letizia run away from the regattas, after a brief appearance, during which they could not disguise their uncomfortableness. They disappeared from the Balearic map the day after their appearance, and, until now, nobody knows where they went.

With the King travelling to Saudi Arabia (due to the death of king Fahd) and the Princes outside the island, queen Sofía and Infanta Cristina, her husband and her children, including little Irene, multiplied then their presence during the week of the regatta, in an attempt to palliate what seemed to be a abandonment of the Princes towards Mallorca and, mainly, a cut with the image that the mass media had been offering of the royal family’s vacations.

For years, a series of rituals had been repeated (which all passed through the direct or indirect participation of the royal family in the regattas), and with their absence, it seemed that the Princes questioned what was understood as a guaranteed model, until this summer.

Don Felipe and Doña Letizia returned to the island on August 14th, agreeing with the arrival of the Dukes of Lugo and their children, who have been in the United States, and, for the first time in this summer, Marivent (where the Kings, the Dukes of Palma and their four children had remained) could make a plenary session. The royal family could then be photographed all together on board of the yacht Fortuna, composing a balsamic scene, which constitutes the traditional image of the summer and the proof that Marivent continues being its main basis.

Unfortunately, the Kings and the Princes carried out another photo, this time of full compassion and mourning, on last August 20th, on the occasion of the funeral of the 17 soldiers who died in Afghanistan.

In the final straight line of the vacations, Don Felipe and Doña Letizia paid a visit to Asturias, during which a photographic session was allowed, through which we could see how princess Letizia changes her face, when she is in Asturias. The Princes remained four days of semi-confinement, inside the house of Menchu Alvarez del Valle, in Sardeu, an address that has become a destiny of pilgrimage, for tourists and admirers, ending up with the peace that once reigned in that place. If the Princes want to keep their escapes to Asturias, the best thing is that they look for a refuge for themselves, although not a summer residence (a hope that is only fed by those who have interests in the zone, and have rumoured the possdibility of the Princes translating their residence to Ribadesella, with the only aim of promoting and raising the price of the nearby villas).

The Kings and the Princes will continue sharing the enclosure of Marivent, as they share the one of La Zarzuela. The Royal House does not open branches, nor during summer.

The Queen seems to spend a lot of time with her grandchildren and seems to be every bit a doting grandmother. Of all the queens we see the most pictures of her spending time with her grandchildren. She's obviously very proud of them -- as she should be!

It is true, the Queen enjoys much her grandsons especially now in vacations that she them has to all together. To those of the Infanta Elena I imagine that she sees them frequently in Madrid, and when she can travels to Barcelona to see the children of the Infanta Cristina. Soon he will have a grandson in house and will be furthermore delighted
