Thanks for translation, Elsa M. I still don't understand, why such a popular and quite good newspaper as "El mundo" can work with him.

He is a polemic personage and the polemic sells, but the people are getting tired of him. Years ago he could have some prestige, but now less and less.
He does not do any more that to criticize everything what Letizia does, often things being invented, and others saying many bilges. What he did with the disease and the death of the grandfather of Letizia was outrageous. In this article he criticizes the sisters of Letizia, that according to him, they were in Palm, but not the photos, not in the images of television nor in no journalistic article it has been said that were there. Only the niece of Letizia was, and not that badly a 3-year-old girl can do.

It is a summer, the journalists do not have much of which to speak, and they are speaking very much about one topic that is not so important.

But where are the Princes now? It's interesting, that they could go anywhere without being seen. Remember? Last year noone knew when they went to spend the rest of their honeymoon after visit in Jordan. So maybe it's the same. I also think, that it could be a bit borring to stay in one place, even such wonderful as Mallorca, all summer.

The journalists are very driven to despair by the topic. They have disappeared and nobody knows where they are. But it seems to my me to be normal that they want to do an elopement, and to be able to be calm without being dependent on photographers, bodyguards, and others....

I think Penafiel is jealous because he does not belong to royalty and he suffers because Letizia, born a commoner, became part of the royalty whereas him can only dream about it. That man is frustrated.

She just basically went along with Cristina's children who happened to have nannies and escorts. Why does he have to paint a picture of Carla using their perks? What's wrong if she was on an exclusive beach with them? Wasn't she a guest? It's the same logic that my brother can play in a members-only golf course because he is a guest of someone who lives in the country club. He always tries to put a bad meaning in everything.

Peñafiel is like that, does not have another explanation. Years ago if he was a journalist of prestige in topics related to house royal, but the truth is that now I believe that him the head has gone away a bit. To Letizia he has taken many obsession and takes advantage of any moment to criticize her. Do what does the critique. I believe that initially to the people towards grace (it is in the habit of doing grace to the people when someone critíca to the people in spite of being able or with money), but with the time I believe that the people are getting tired of him. He took advantage of Letizia's topic to recover a bit the lost reputation. In the topic of the grandfather of Letizia he behaved very badly and to the people I believe that did not like it. In addition, Letizia is doing well her work, is discreet and now she is pregnant ... there will come a moment in which it already is not the innovation, and the journalists will stop blaming her for everything (because if she does something she is criticized, but if another person of the Royal Family does it not; she is blamed for everything, when probably it is the one that less thinks).
I believe that it is a question of time, as soon as the baby is born, the topic of the Princes it will be losing this excess of interest, and they will make them calmer.
Peñafiel I believe that he goes time collaborating with " El Mundo ", and how he is polemic, I imagine that he sells. But it seems that in the program of television in the one that was collaborating they go to disregard of him, or it is the well-read one.

He had some big fall with Queen Sofia, involving his daughter's death, as Queen Sofia did not attend her fiuneral. After that incident, he's dedicated to plant polemics… As far as I can remember, he criticised the Queen for not attending bull-fights and many other things. He said if Sofia was such a great professional, she would accompany Juan Carlos to la Fiesta Nacional…
The truth is that Penafiel used to be an investigating journalist (he worked in Europa Press and also as a reporter of war), and that's why he's still somehow well-consired by some people in Spain, but that was centuries ago… In the last years, he has turned into a meere gossip-track, dedicated to collecting issues with everybody: the King, the Queen, the Infantas and, of course, Letizia. For example, he insists that Iñaki was a star athlete in "just a second-rate sport" and not an appropriate choice to Infanta Cristina (nevertheless, the Spaniards are very fond of Iñaki and the family he formed with Cristina)...

Yeah, as Elsa have well said Peñafiel’s daughter died of a drug overdose. When she died, King Juan Carlos gave Jaime his condolences, but the Queen didn’t.
Nowadays, he admits that his resentments about Queen Sofía started because of his fault. He says that he thought that he was an important person, but eventually he has discovered that he isn’t.

And this is my opinion about his criticism of Letizia:

I think that he hasn’t accepted yet that times have changed, and that a plebeian, an intelligent and qualified plebeian as Letizia, can’t marry a Crown Prince just because they have fallen in love.

That’s the way that his mentality is (an “archaic” mentality I have to say), and I fear that nobody could change it never.

When I see some article signed by Peñafiel, I just ignore it and I don’t read it, cause it’s not difficult to know how it’s going to be and who is going to be criticized...

And for those who ask for the opinion of the Spaniards about him... it's obviously that he has more detractors than supporters in Spain, anyway people don’t pay him attention, everyone here knows the way he is. It’s like: “Who has said that terrible thing? Oh well… Peñafiel…Forget it.”

The whole Spanish Royal family seems to work soooo hard that I hope that aspect of their lives is appreciated by the majority of the Spanish populace. And the woman next to Iñaki is Marta Mas. She is the Azur de Puig's shipowner and a very close friend of Infanta Cristina and his husband.

I believe that you it have not read good, the Princes were last week of July in house of the Princes of Preslav, came there the day of Mafalda's birthday, to which the children of the Infanta Cristina and the niece of Letizia came.
