http://www.abc.es/abc/pg050807/prensa/noticias/Gente/Gente/200508/07/NAC-GEN-098.asp

No doubt there are better summers than this, but for now, that’s all we have. This edition of the Copa del Rey, which finishes today, will remain in history as the most insipid one of all the twenty-four editions that have been disputed throughout the years.

Until now, Don Juan Carlos, who is the only member of the Royal Family participating this year in the nautical competition, has been able to sail just on Tuesday, due to the unexpected death of King Fahd. However, Don Juan Carlos is expected today at the helm of the "Bribón”, after returning yesterday from Saudi Arabia (actually a day after what was planned, since the hospitality of the Saudi Royal Family forced him to spend the night in the city of Riad).

Regarding the Princes of Asturias, we continue not knowing of them, as they left the island last Wednesday, towards an unknown destiny.

And yesterday, once again, Her Majesty the Queen and Infanta Doña Cristina livened-up the regattas with their presence, this time accompanied by Iñaki Urdangarín and the three boys of the Dukes of Palma: Juan, Pablo and Miguel (as they preferred to let little Irene, calm and relaxed, in Marivent). The six embarked on board of the "Somni" and sailed towards the field of regattas, where they kept encouraging the crew of the "Azur de Puig", the sailboat that is traditionally captained by Doña Cristina, although this year, due to her recent maternity, she decided not to compete. Just as Don Felipe did last Tuesday, Iñaki Urdangarín took a bath on the high seas, to refresh the suffocating heat felt these days in Spain.

After the last regatta of today, Their Majestys the Kings will give the trophies to the winning crews of XXIV of the Copa del Rey, a ceremony that will take place in the Castle of Bellver and where the Princes of Asturias are also expected.

ImagineScandinavia has a few more photos from last Wednesday. I'll just post the ones that are a bit different from all the ones we have already seen:

Thanks for the lovely pictures!!! They reflect the happyness of this lovely family!!!
Irene is one of the most beautifull babys i ever seen...

Am I the only one who thinks that the Queen has never looked so good as she does now in her sixties?

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who has posted photographs of the Royal Family on their annual holiday. They all seem to be really enjoying themseleves. Crown Princess Letizia looks like she is blooming in health!

Lucys, I think she has looked "good" in the past but I do think I've never seen her more "contented" looking -- especially around Cristina and Felipe and their families. I saw her in person the day she and Juan Carlos were reinstated on the throne and I thought she was absolutely beautiful -- much, much prettier than photos of her.

The children are adorable and growing so fast, the Queen looks very content and happy surrounded by her grandchildren but lets not forget the Duke of Palma, who still is handsome and in great shape:D

Im having trouble with my Imageshack so I have to place them as attachments feel free to remove double posts. From UK Press

Wow! Thanks everyone who has posted all these fantastic photos. :)

And according with the newspaper Canarias 7, today, Infanta Cristina has sailed with her Azur de Puig crew for the first time in this summer.

Queen Sofía, Iñaki Urdangarín and her children, has been encouraged her from the “Sommni” which was following the Azur de Puig during all the regatta time.
Tonight, the Kings will preside the delivery of trophies. The Royal House hasn't confirmed yet if the Princes of Asturias will attend the ceremony.

And finally, here some pics from today, when it has taking place the last regatta in this Summer of 2005.

;)
