Thanks for being on top of things, lula. Just a little correction here: it's not his first official visit abroad, but his first State Visit.
There will certainly be a gala dinner... I just hope the First Lady will get some fashion advisement before, since her sense of style always seems to come from her grandmother's closet...

Normally these trips have a fixed agenda. The Kings will receive them in the Palace of El Pardo, there will be a luncheon in Zarzuela, the dinner in the Royal Palace and the receipt of the Portuguese President to the Kings in El Pardo. In this occasion, the Portuguese President also will visit Asturias, the Princes will accompany him and will inaugurate an exhibition of a Portuguese artist. It seems that the Portuguese President will have more acts in Asturias, it can only to know if the Princes will accompany him also or only they will do it in the exhibition.

In Spain she is an almost a stranger, though Adriana Molder, native of Lisbon of the last quarter of century, already offered this spring a part of her talent in our country, sharing walls in the collective one dedicated to the Portuguese art in the Museum Union Fenosa of Coruña. Her real scene is Berlin. There she is obtaining successes, new sap and the assumption of an internationality in the one that possesses the support of her own government. With everything she comes now to Asturias. In the scene of major character, the Museum of Fine arts, the close one will take place 28 of September, her real Spanish disembarkation. In fact, her adventure in this land is marked in the royal agenda of the Princes of Asturias, who will come to the inauguration, in company of the president of Portugal, Aníbal Cavaco Silva.

A source from the Presidency of the Republic said to Lusa that the President's choice of Spain for his first State Visit is explained by the importance that Cavaco Silva has always dedicated to the relations with the Spanish State. "With the choice of Spain for the first State Visit, the President of the Republic wants to underline, on the other hand, and in a personal level, the very particular esteam towards king Juan Carlos".
Cavaco Silva and Juan Carlos of Spain had met a few times, during the years that the current President of the Republic hold the title of Prime-Minister (1986-1996). The current head of State and former head of Government belongs to the Club of Madrid, an organization that congregates 44 former heads of State and Government that was created under the king of Spain's patroness, to promote the debate between international leaders. Cavaco Silva is also a member of the Royal Academy of Moral Sciences and Politics of Spain, since 1994.

What do you think about the Princess's gown for the diiner gala of the 25th? Can we imagine that she could wear her tremandous red one ? Why not because Letizia have as politic to repite her wardrobe and for this one, never she did it and the season is yet good for did.
It's a pur speculation, but why not ?
