Great humor!!! Most of them being true--she comes across as the strong one in the marriage. Felipe seems to me more easy-going and somewhat clueless. Great postings!!

The traditional Christmas congratulations have been progressively replaced by the electronic cards and originality is evident in each one of them. There are e-cards for all likings, from the most typical ones, portraying Santa Claus, to most ingenious creations, many of them including the Princes of Asturias and their new born, Doña Leonor.
This year the Spanish royal family is the unquestionable leader. The famous photomontage has opened the door to innumerable variations: with politicians, journalists, comic personages, etc... What characterizes all these cards is humour… in addition to the good wishes.

Inexpert father Felipe says: "Leti, I am also happy because you are giving birth, but doing the cucaracha like Ronaldo seems to me as excessive»!
P.S. - Ronaldo is a player of Real Madrid and he uses to celebrate a goal doing this

Thanks so much for translating! I'm fascinated with the fact that the Spanish are so irreverent - it reminds me of those little figures with their pants down. Can you imagine them being made and sold in England? Never!

The most incredible thing is that King and the Prince they collect some of these caricatures. I remember a wall of the Zarzuela has seen in an occasion in a programme of television with several framed caricatures.:p
Last year when the Princes were in Menchu's house in Asturias, a newspaper of Asturias published a cartoon in which the feet of the Prince were going out for the window of the house ... the newspaper ended up by giving the original drawing to the Prince

Weird. I always thought that the Spanish royals were very big on etiquette and stuff. It shows that they are really self-assured and cool if they can live with being the guys the nation laughs about.

I think it isn't all that surprising, if you consider the cheerfull personality of Don Juan Carlos (and also the other members of the family, especially Elena). I mean, he is the guy who always laughs with everybody and makes fun of every situation...
