ELPAIS

Spanish Royal Family Christmas Cards

A very very "flamenca" card

Other years in which the postcards of Christmas of the Royal House had a touch a little more folclórico. As this one, of 1968, in that the infantas Elenas and Cristina pose dressed of Sevillian to congratulate the Christmas

An image very baturra

In 1971, the Kings congratulated the Christmas with the image of their three children decked with regional suits. Don Felipe appears now together with his sisters, taking the typical suit of Aragon

One image more pop

The Christmas card of 1972 nothing has to see with the previous ones, and in it the Royal Family gives a more current image, posing together in La Zarzuela.-

It is correct, is in the Zarzuela, in the zone of the garden. The photo is done in a "horreo" that is installed in the gardens of the Zarzuela. A "horreo", it is a type of barn, traditional of the north of Spain, especially of Galicia and Asturias; it is a construction of stone and wood.

I do not remember well the history, but the "hórreo" was a gift of Asturias for the Royal Family or the Prince. Ultimately the House of the King, of which at the time was a chief an Asturian, Sabino Férnandez Campos, decided to install the construction in the gardens of Zarzuela.

Horreos

In house of Menchu, the grandmother of Letizia, also there is one, in this photo you can see the corner of the "horreo"

Thanks for the link for the video it really was great too bad we don't get to see to many like that one

Thank you so much for the video zarzuela. I loved how QS was fixing Felipe's hair and playing with his hand, and how KJC gave them the instructions for how to behave. What a beautiful example of why the SRF is so fantastic.
