A question:
She is the Duchess of Alba but her husband has not become the duke of Alba after the wedding, did he?

After the wedding he is the Duke consort and as such is called the Duke of Alba.

I just LOVE Duchess Alba, she seems to have us have such a zest for life!

Marichalar family attends funeral for Count of Ripalda Amalio de Marichalar in Soria - December 26th, 2011 - Getty gallery

I wonder what was the cause of the Count's death? AFAIK, he was born in 1958. And does this make Alvaro & his spouse Yekaterina Anikiyeva next Count & Countess of Ripalda?

It wasn't a Funeral as the Count died in 1979,it was a Anniversary Mass for Jaime's father (the 8th Count of Ripalda).

Jaime's older brother,Don Joaquin Amalio Marichalar y Saenz de Tejada is the current & 9th Count of Ripalda.

Thanks for clearing the situation, An Ard Ri!:flowers:
Alvaro is the youngest.
OK.
Amalio, 9. conde de Ripalda was born 13.08.1958
Alvaro was born 25.04.1961
Jaime was born 07.04.1963
Luis Maria was born 13.02.1965
Ignacio was born 27.09.1967
How can Alvaro become 'youngest'?

An article about the Duchess of Alba receiving the award.
Google translation.

Apparently, it was a lifetime achievement award, honouring the Duchess's ties with Seville. Judging by the comments at the end of the article, she is well loved there.

Doña Ana de Medina y Fernández de Córdoba, Countess of Ofalia and Marchiones of Navahermosa, passed away on 7 March 2012, after a long illness, aged 71.

She was born at Sevilla on 2 May 1940, the eldest child and only daughter of Don Rafael de Medina y Villalonga and his wife Doña Victoria Eugenia Fernandez de Cordoba y Fernandez de Henestrosa, (since 1956) 18th Duchess of Mendinaceli.
She married firstly in 1961 to Prince Max Emanuel zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg, with whom she had three children. They divorced in 1985, and in the same year she married to Don Jaime de Urzaiz y Fernández del Castillo; this second wedding also ended in divorce.
She is survived by her three children Princes Marco, Pablo and Flavia zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg, seven grandchildren, her mother the Duchess of Medinaceli, her brother Ignacio, Duke of Segorbe, her sisters-in-law and many nephews and nieces.

Since 2005 she was the heiress to her mother's titles; now the heir to the Dukedom of Medinaceli is Ana's eldest son Prince Marco zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg.

I suppose the Duchess of Alba paid the visit on occasion of the birthday of the Duchess of Medinaceli, who turned 95 the previous day (16 April).

Very likely, MAfan!

Yesterday, April 19, the Duchess of Alba received the TELVA award for the best Sevilla ambassador during a ceremony in Sevilla.

Thanks for the photos!
I have to say that the Duchess of Alba looked lovely in a red outfit. Despite her age, her hands have got a delicately feminine shape.
