Her Majesty the Queen Sofia inagura the new rooms of the Museum Queen Sofia.

The King will visit tomorrow Cantabria for the centenary of the factory Nestlé

Don Juan Carlos will cross the facilities of the factory of The Penilla, will discover a plate and will meet executives and workers

The King will be present tomorrow, on Tuesday, at the commemorative acts of the centenary of the factory Nestlé and will realize a visit to the factory of The Penilla de Cayón. Don Juan Carlos will come to the midday, presumably in helicopter, and will remain in the facilities hour and a half, approximately.
During his stay, the King will discover a commemorative plate and will attend to an explanatory video on the activity that is realized.
Later, he will cross the factory, principally the line automated of packed of chocolates. The visit will conclude with a Spanish wine that the factory will offer the King and the rest of the guests to the act.
The monarch will be got by the first authorities of the region and by the mayors of the region. There will not be absent the maximum responsible Nestlé's for Europe and the president - director of the group in Spain. Also there will be the members of the committee of the company.

Inaugurated the extension of the Museum Reigns Sofia

The Queen inaugurated today the new buildings of extension of the Museum Carmen Calvo Reigns Sofia of Madrid, accompanied of the minister of Culture, and of the architect, Jean Nouvel, who explained to her how it has brought together a building of the 18th century, Sabatini's work, with the most ultramodern architecture.
Dona Sofía contemplated the spectacular sight from the terraces of three new modules, linked to each other for a singular marquee, in which roofs in red metal-worker reflect the former buildings of Madrid, between them Atocha's station.
At her arrival, she discovered a commemorative plate of this official inauguration, in the court of the museum that uses as point of union of the former hospital in the one that began the art gallery and the modern facilities.
The new buildings shelter a great library, two singular audiences, a restaurant and two new rooms of temporary exhibitions. The library, the first one of the buildings that the Queen crossed and which one finds in the place nearest to the Plaza of the emperor Carlos, is capable of sheltering up to 250.000 volumes and is considered to be one of the best of Europe regarding modern art.
An original lamp of glass thinks on the room of reading of the Library, that it possesses already 65.000 volumes, more than thousand magazines of contemporary art, nine thousand slides and artists' numerous catalogues. This space complements itself with a specializing bookshop.

The Kings inaugurated on September 10, 1992 the permanent collection of the National Museum Center of Art Queen Sofia, which up to this moment had received only samples of temporary character.

The King Juan Carlos realized today his fifth official visit to Cantabria to take part in the commemoration of the centenary of Nestlé's factory in The Penilla, the first one that the Swiss multinational opened in Spain.

In his visit to the factory, which lasted one hour and a half, Don Juan Carlos saw an explanatory video on Nestlé's history, discovered a commemorative plate of the centenary, crossed the facilities of the floor of packed of chocolates and greeted the workers.
The visit of the King to this factory, which has an average staff of 750 workers, began little before 12.30 hours, when he came to The Penilla after landing in Parayas's Airport, where he came on board of a Falcon F-900.
The King was received between the plaudits of the citizens that they congregated in the surrounding areas of the factory for the minister of Agriculture, Elena Espinosa; the president of Cantabria, Michael Angel Revilla; the delegate of the Government, Agustín Ibáñez; the president of the Parliament, Michael Angel Palacio, and the maximums responsible Nestlé's in Spain and Europe, Jose Arcas y Lars Olofsson, respectively.
Don Juan Carlos moved, later, together with the authorities to a tent where he was waited by 102 mayors of the town halls of Cantabria, syndical representatives, of the employer one, of the justice and of the academic area and in the tour he received the plaudits of the staff of the factory that congregated in the facilities.
The King saw an explanatory video of Nestlé's path and listened to the interventions of the president - general manager of the company in Spain, Jose Arcas, who qualified the visit of ' milestone in the history ' of the company, and of the director of the loor, Ulpiano García, who announced that this year the factory will beat a record of production, with more than 73.000 tons.
The projected video emphasized the entail of the Spanish Royal Family with the history of the factory, visited in several occasions from the inauguration, in 1905, for the King Alfonso XIII, grandfather of Don Juan Carlos, and for the infantes of Spain.
The floor received in 1929 the visit of the Infante Don Jaime, to inaugurate the line of production of chocolates, and belonged for years proveedora to the Royal Family, who authorized her to use his shield in the etiquettes and official invoices.
The King of Spain could see this morning a few photographies of the visits of his predecessors to the floor, which pleased specially the monarch, as he made clear to the journalists the mayor of Santa Maria of Cayón, Gastón Gómez.
Later, Don Juan Carlos discovered in the enclosure a commemorative plate of the centenary and of his visit, the first one that he realizes to the factory and to Cayón's valley and, later, he crossed the line of packed of chocolates, where he followed with ' a lot of interest ' the explanations of the executives, Ulpiano García indicated.
The visit to the factory concluded with the signature in the book of honor and a coctel in which the King greeted personally each of the counselors of the regional Government, to the mayors of Cantabria and to the members of the works committee.

Athens, 28 sep (EFE) .-The Queen Sofia will visit today, on Wednesday, the children's institution " Center Mitera " in Athens, on the occasion of 50 years of its foundation, to which there contributed her mother, the deceased Reina Federica of Greece. The Queen Sofia meets in Athens from last night, invited by the minister of Health Greek, Nikitas Kaklamanis, the one that will come this midday to the " Center Mitera ".
The facilities of the center shelter hundred children, across which 106 handicapped persons have found adoptive families.
As the Department reported this night the institution organizes a concert in the Palace of the Music in the capital in occasion of the anniversary, at which will be present the Queen and high civil servants of the government and parties. EFE

The King visited yesterday the Nestlé chocolate factory, located in Penilla de Cavón (Cantabria), on the occasion of its centenary in Spain. Don Juan Carlos praised the pleasure of chocolate and remembered his childhood snacks, sharing anecdotes that made laugh the president of the company and the authorities that accompanied the Monarch.
 
The Queen Sofia visit today the children's institution " Center Mitera " in Athens. Sofia, a member of the Greek royal family, studied and worked at the shelter as a princess before marrying Juan Carlos of Spain. The shelter celebrates its 50th anniversary this year

Dona Sofía, an intimate queen in Athens The Queen of Spain travelled last night to Greece, country where she was born being already A Princess and that retired already 43 years ago to marry don Juan Carlos. Dona Sofía has returned in this occasion to her country to visit the children's institution ' Center Mitera ' in Athens, where she showed her more human and intimate side. This institution was created 50 years ago and the mother of dona Sofía, the deceased queen Federica of Greece, contributed to foundation.

Athens, 28 sep (EFE) .-The Queen Sofia of Spain represented today to the ceremony of 50 anniversary of the infantile foundation " Center Mitera " in Agios Anargiros, near Athens, institution at which she studied and was employed one year, when she was a princess of Greece.

Before the minister of Health Greek, Nikitas Kaklamanis, and the ambassador of Spain in Athens, J. Ramon Martínez, besides her former companions of course and of work and the managerial Meeting of the institution, the Queen Sofia declared, thrilled, that he is joined by " narrow bows of heart " to the center.
In the gardens, the Queen demonstrated that her stay in "Mitera", between 1955 and 1956, drank to her " the indelible experience of helping to improve the future of the smallest children ", and added that it " undoubtedly was determinant in the commitment that I have supported always with all the humanitarian reasons ".
During her visit women's multitude they greeted the queen, included Eftijia Driyanaki, who years behind was her teacher and entrusted to teach her every morning to take care of the babies.
" She was a calm and nice pupil. The incarnation of the young generation. Always she ofers to help ", Driyanaki said to EFE .
The queen was grateful for the invitation of the holder of Health to the act, in which the chairwoman of the meeting, Maro Kondu, gave to her the welcome and highlighted her interest in the center in each of her visits to Greece.
The vice-minister of Social Matters, Yorgos Konstantópulos, qualified of "luck" to be able to possess the presence of her majesty in the celebration of the anniversary of "Mitera", which completes half a century of dedication of the center the children.
The minister Kaklamanis commented to EFE that the Center "Mitera" is the most ancient and one of the most important two of Athens in the labor of drinking shelters the orphan children and to look for adoptive families.
Later, the queen crossed the exhibition of drawings done by children and diverse pavilions in those who are taken care a hundred of babies of the institution.
Especially, the queen detained in the "red" pavilion (which name comes from the color that before the walls had) in the one that did her practices and in the one that shared unforgettable moments with her companions of studies.
At the end of the visit she approached the chapel of Holy Caterina, where she ignited two candles and prayed.
"Mitera" takes care of a hundred of children in its facilities, and offers to adoption from 30 to 40 infantes every year, and besides some other handicapped persons have found adoptive families.
This night, the Center Mitera offers a concert in the Palace of the Music in Athens at which they will be present the queen Sofía, the Greek prime minister, Coasts Caramanlis, and out-standing personalities of the Greek society, whose collection will be destined to benefit of the institution.

King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia will offer an official reception to the Government and Heads of State that participate in the XV Latin American Summit, which shall take place at the City Hall of Salamanca, on October 14th. After the reception, the Kings and the rest of the retinue will greet the people from the balcony of the Consistorial House.

On that same day, the monarchs, accompanied by the Latin American executives, will discover, at the Plaza de Anaya, another plate showing a legend of the second chapter of Cervantes’ novel, pointing out the coincidence of this intergovernmental summit with the IV centenary of the Quijote.

The Kings and the rest of the retinue will also attend a concert of bells that will sound in unison through the city. In the course of the two days of the summit, the city hall has organized a cultural program, according to which the Queen and the spouses of the Prime Ministers and Heads of State will visit emblematic places of Salamanca.

The Kings come to the General Militar Academy

The Kings of Spain will return next Saturday to Saragossa on the occasion of the acts organized for 50 anniversary of the promotion XIV of the General Militar Academy, to which the monarch belongs.
The Department of Defense informed in a communique that the acts will consist of a solemn ceremony that Pilar will celebrate in the Basilica of, where the honors of ordinance will give up themselves, and in the renovation of the oath to the flag, which will be realized in the General Militar Academy. The king, as member of the promotion, will repeat his oath.
