The King being a muslim has absolutely nothing to do with buying/presenting HM Queen Sofia with jewellery or not. It's done by all middle-east rulers for their counterparts in Europe,Arabia and Asia, and their spouses. The jewellery was already given earlyer during the Sytate Visit by the King to Spain, this is just an official visit,so gifts are not that elaborate.

Can anyone find a closeup of Queen Sofia's new ruby jewelry?

Thanks for your thoughts re the jewelry. To me, jewelry is something very personal, usually romantic. But if you are saying it was a present to the country of Spain, to be lent to whomever, then I understand, vs a gift of jewelry to someone else's spouse.

I love that color on Letizia. When did she wear the dress before?
