I hope they had a nice time.
I don't think this reception has any baring on whether or when they will have a religious wedding. It was organised by her friend for her friends that couldn't be at the civil ceremony and might not travel to Greece for the religious one.

What a lovely setting for the reception, hopefully we'll see the happy couple in Greece over the summer as restrictions ease.

That's great news! I'm looking forward to seeing the united family and possibly some more other royal guests!

Good news! Another royal wedding!
Ivi Macris, an employee of the Greek Royal House, confirms to Vanitatis that the wedding of Prince Philippos and Nina will take place in October.
Quote:
"I can confirm that the religious wedding of Prince Philippos and Nina Flohr will take place in Athens in October, but at the moment I cannot say the exact date. As soon as we know, the information will become official."

The wedding of Prince Philippos and Princess Nina will be celebrated on October 23, at The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Annunciation in Athens. If the pandemic does not change, it will be that day.
The Royal House has not yet issued a statement.

This information is not official and was posted on a Facebook group and blog also about the Greek Royal Family.

If the date is confirmed, we can delete King Felipe and Queen Letizia from the list of attendees because the Princess of Asturias Awards are held that weekend.

I think the rumor is true for that very reason, they speak of safe guests at the wedding, Queen Margrethe , Queen Sofia, but they already assume that King Felipe will not be at the wedding, they do not refer to him. ("They" are the journalists who have written the rumor).
I believe that even if it had been on another date, King Felipe would not have attended either, because formerly, he was Crown Prince, and now he is King. King Juan Carlos never attended royal weddings, his presence was always an exception, he avoided attending these celebrations, I think the reason is his condition as Head of State.
I think it is true, because at the beginning when the rumor came out that the wedding would be in October, the Greek journalist spoke of a wedding that resembled the wedding of King Constantine and Queen Anna Maria, therefore, it was hard to believe , but now, I include the Greek media that talk about the rumor, they all talk about a wedding limited by the covid. Now this is credible.
I believe that this is true and that the wedding will be marked by the restrictions of the covid. There will be members of the royalty, that's for sure, and relevant guests, but also the representations of royal houses will be less due to the covid.
In my opinion, it is not official, but it is true

King Juan Carlos attended the Weddings of Crown Prince Pavlos and Princess Alexia and also the wedding of Duchess Fleur of Württemberg so he certainly attended Weddings abroad during his time as Head of State so i fail to see why it should not be possible for King Felipe, even more so as Philippos is his first cousin.

If Felipe attended he wedding, he would do so as a cousin of the groom and not as the King of Spain.

I have said that his presence was always an exception, "his presence of him was always an exception"
At the wedding of Prince Pavlos, Princess Alexia, Duchess Fleur of Württemberg were exceptions because he was usual not to attend weddings . He did not attend the royal weddings of Norway, Sweden, Great Britain, nor the Belgian, Luxembourg, his presence in these weddings was a excepcion.

And why could King Felipe not make an exception to attend the Wedding of his cousin. Would be normal for me and i would find it strange if he would not attend if there are no other duties for him on that date.

The Spanish press publishes today, the agenda of the Asturias Princess Awards, it will begin on October 22nd and ends on the 24th, King Felipe and Queen Letizia will preside over the events.
It is a rumor, wedding the 23 of October, and it is not official, it is true that it is very detail the rumor, but the Greek royal house hinted last week that nothing is closed, so I think it could be modified. They should also set the date according to the agenda of the guests, these awards are very important,
I remember that Princess Alexia's wedding was going to take place on a Saturday, but the Greek Royal House modified it because Queen Elizabeth II had to attend an official event.
I think that they could change it , in my opinion 30 of october

The date was known, what they have announced this week are the Covid restrictions. Awards are held on the penultimate Friday in October every year. The theater where they are held is small and in those months they celebrate the opera season, so it is always planned that the theater is empty that week, so everyone can plan months or years in advance.
The awards ceremony is on Friday, but if Queen Sofia did not attend it would be the first time in the 40-year history of the awards...

This is true that Ivi Macris, representative of the king's office, the past week , implied that everything was pending to be confirmed, this is a rumor, very detailed and possibly contrasted, but it is possible that the date is not yet closed. The date is established by the couple, Philippos and Nina, according to their interests, this is not established by the guests, if the friends or family members, cannot attend because they have events that day, this is the case of King Felipe and his Family, this is sad but understandable, the truth is that October is a month full of public events for the royal houses, if the wedding would have been in August, but in October the agendas are full.... I think Philippos and Nina are also aware of it.
For me, the most beautiful thing about this wedding is that it takes place in the Cathedral, 57 years later a member of the Royal House returns "home", it is a very beautiful temple, and very close to the Greek royal family

I also think it was not a good idea to have the wedding in October. August would have been the ideal month for the wedding ceremony, as most members of the royal families were on vacation at that time.
