King Michael's grandson, former prince Nicolae, marries Alina Binder on September 30th, the party to be held at the Sinaia Casino. The two of them will leave the church via the way, as it happened decades ago, at the wedding of Princess Ileana, the daughter of King Ferdinand.
All the details were put together for the ceremony. From the church where the religious ceremony will be celebrated to the place where the party will take place, everything was set in the smallest details, the last royal wedding in Sinaia being that of Princess Ileana, the daughter of King Ferdinand and the Queen Maria.
The religious ceremony will take place at the Biserica Sfântul Ilie church, the place of worship founded by Kings Carol II and Mihai I, which is at the entrance to the center of the resort, on the left. The party will be at the famous Sinaia Casino.
Alina and Nicolae will come from the church to the casino in a quaint way, as did Princess Ileana and Archduke Anton of Habsburg at their wedding, the last royal wedding in Sinaia.
- A symbolic thing that Prince Nicolae and Alina wanted to emphasize was that they wanted to make the wedding at Sinaia because Sinaia is the cradle of the Romanian kingdom. It is very important that they will have the religious ceremony at the Biserica Sfântul Ilie, the church of which King Mihai, the grandfather of Prince Nicolae and king Carol II were founders. And, symbolically, the church is at the beginning of Carol I Boulevard, and the Sinaia Casino is at the end of Carol I Boulevard. I think it means very much. The casino is a special, representative building where, besides the games many cultural, social, political events took place. It is also a meeting place, so Prince Nicolae chose this place entirely and very specially. Alina and Nicolae will come from the Church to the Casino. It is interesting. And Princess Ileana came the same way, Vlad Oprea, mayor of Sinaia, told to Mediafax.
The Mayor says he was invited to the wedding and will attend.
- I was invited and I will certainly participate, the mayor said.
Asked if there are special preparations for this wedding where some 300 people are invited, the mayor said that the authorities did not prepare.
- We don't do any special training at all, everything is normal. Many asked me if Prince Nicolae paid for the Casino. Yes, he paid, Oprea said.
The casino in Sinaia, where the party will take place, is in the hands of local authorities, but employees here did not want to tell how much King Mihai's grandson paid of this event, claiming that a confidentiality contract has been signed. However, anyone can rent the Mirror Hall, the place where the party will take place, for the sum of 2,500 euros.
