Nicholas de Roumanie Medforth-Mills and Alina Maria Binder - September 30th, 2018

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Are we 100% sure this child is in fact his?
AFAIK, the official DNA tests were not made.

As for Angelica & her now husband - suppose at the moment of conceiving Courtney they were already living together as a couple.
I agree with you and have the impression that having left the whole thing unclear could be the issue for his family. Impression developed from reading their public statements and his mother's in a media interview.

As far as I remember from reading public statements from the rrf and Nicholas' mother, the issue is not just having had a child out of wedlock, but not having ligitimised his little girl and having left the whole thing unsorted. Which, in my personal view, is in a weird contrast with all this festive and priest-crowded pre-wedding atmosphere. In my view, it does not cast a positive light on the groom.

Nicolae tried everything he could to solve this and wanted a paternity test - but the child´s mother didn´t cooperate so that things could not be sorted! So, who has left the whole thing unsorted here, do you think...?!:ermm::whistling:

What do we know about that woman? Right, nothing! Perhaps she claimed she did medical prevention but in truth didn´t do so? These things happen all the time, every day! Perhaps she deliberately wanted to get pregnant without N.´s agreement on that because she wanted a royal Prince as a father for her child...?

Your message looks based on the view that Nicholas has expressed in public. The other side, Ncoleta Cirjan, has expressed an opposite view. To whom shall we believe? It takes two to play tango. As far as I remember, Nicoleta had required two tests in two different labs. Nicholas refused. What's wrong with a double check, especially for such a sensitive issue? And all at the expense of a little girl who cannot do anything. I am not convinced that he has done everything in his power to sort this out. His own family did not sound convinced either, in public statements. I would have found a lower profile more appropriate for this wedding. If you have more in-depth information on the topic, please share it so that we all can better understand [emoji257]

I´ m not convinced by the woman´ s statements as well!

I´ m not convinced by the woman´ s statements as well!

I fully understand and support this. It works for both. It makes sense. It takes two to play tango. However, his own mother has publicly disassociated from his part in this issue. She believes that he could have done more and assigns at least a part of responsibility to her son.
It is okay with me if we remain with our different views. :flowers:

This thread is about Nicolae and Alina-Maria's wedding, not about his past or his life now.

Prince Paul of Romania, along with his wife, Princess Lia, prepared a special message for Prince Nicolae and Alina-Maria Binder, who will marry at the end of this week. On the occasion of this event, Prince Paul and Princess Lia sent a special gift to young people who will unite their destinies on Sunday at Sinaia.
Just a few days before the great event, Prince Paul and Princess Lia announced what gift they would send for the wedding of former Prince Nicolae.
"According to a tradition observed in the royal family Hohenzollern, at any special event, Romanian wine is consumed alongside German wines. For this reason, Prince Paul of Romania and Princess Lia chose to send to the two future spouses a bottle of collection wine, of German origin. Being noted for its unique flavor and smell, the wine bottle also benefited from a special packaging, a vintage scarf, Hermes-Paris brand, said Prince Paul and Princess Lia in a press release.

Thank you! I fully agree on that. Unfortunately it always goes in this direction by the "against-Nicolae-fraction" who seem to use every opportunity to doubt N`s integrity and morality.... I´d rather dwell on the upcoming wedding completely.

Anyway, who are Paul and his Lia?! Never heard of them before...:ermm:

The son of Mihai's older half-brother who fought against Mihai to establish his rights to the throne (as the more senior line) - I referenced him in post 87 without using his name. FYI: he failed in his attempt but it must have been really hard on Mihai that his legitimacy as king was questioned over and over again until as late as 2012 when he was recognised as one of Carol II's heirs.

So, it looks like he is using this wedding to advance his own cause. Both Paul-Philippe and Nicholas want to be the head of the Romanian royal family, so in that sense they can be considered rivals - and both outcasts within the royal family.

See wikipedia for some basic information.

Paul and Lia Lambrino have been uninvited gatecrashers at the funerals of Archduke Otto and of Landgrave Mortiz of Hesse. In the first case they were quickly escorted out. Let's see if they will try to do the same at this wedding.

Nicholas was removed on August 1, 2015 while the child was born on February 9, 2016. I am sure him not taking responsibility added to the family's unhappiness but would it be even possible to establish paternity at that point (Nicholas claims he tried to sort things out in November of 2015 so a few months before she was born). However, it probably was already clear that he did not intend to be a father to this child.

I don't expect little Iris Anna at the wedding ;)

Are they on speaking terms with the daughters of the late king?

I doubt that very much. I suspect they neither know the grandchildren of the late king very well. As they have a history of trying to put themselves in the spotlight at royal events I suspect that that was the idea behind sending these -undoubtedly wonderful- wines too.

Thanks for your informative and constructive comment. Putting facts in the right timeline and context as you did definitely helps. I agree that we won't see that cute little girl at the wedding, unfortunately. :flowers:

To nobody in specific but a general reminder & request:

It has been noted several times that the paternity of the girl has not been established. To ignore that fact and treat it as a certainty is not something we should do. Some believe Nicholas version of events, others do not. But in the end of the day very few people -if any- will know for certain. It is not likely that any of us will be among those who do.

As others noted before: this is a thread about the wedding and not about long debates on the paternity of the child. This has been and still can be discussed ad nauseam in the Romanian forum. People are also free to write down their doubts about the groom in the Romanian forum. To do it in the wedding thread for several pages long & after each and every news-item that is posted ruins the fun for most posters who simply want to enjoy the upcoming wedding.

In short: let's drop this matter and move on.

The moderators would be thankful if we all can prevent this wedding thread from turning into a battlefield & if we can treat each other with respect. Snide and demeaning remarks about the people who are discussed or about each other are not appreciated. For those who are too agitated to write a polite reply there is always the option of not posting one at all.

Feel free to contact me by PM if you have any questions about the above.

These preparations are all very lovely but who is paying for it or is it all sponsored by the businesses concerned? I don’t doubt the wedding will be a media success and PR coup for the Nicholae.

Princess Margereta and Prince Radu will be in France this WE. In Alsace they will commemorate the romanian soldiers who lost their lifes.

Such an enormous missed opportunity for the Romanian RF. This beautiful young couple are a potential PR dream for the vanishing RF. I hope the couple enjoy their day despite the absence of such close family members.

I think that they pay for the service but get a discount because of the publicity.

"Vanishing RF". Actually they are hardly vanishing. Romania has a monarchy in everything but a name. All the who-is-who in Romania make an audience at Elisabeta Palace, even ambassadors from the USA.

What kind of location is this Casino? Is it part of a palace or something usually accessible to the public?

Is the bride going to wear a tiara? In the pre-wedding photo shoots kindly posted here earlier this week, Alina was wearing what looks like a metal circle-shaped headpiece or crown... possibly part of Romanian traditional costumes?

White peonies, jasmine, hydrangeas, lilies and roses. Flowers are chosen by former Prince Nicolae and Alina Binder for the wedding arrangements. The bride will wear a gown diaphanous silk, made by Romanian designer.
Everyone is waiting to see what Alina has chosen for the most important day of her life. I find out that the bride's bouquet will be made of lily of the valley, white peony and jasmine.
The dress remains a surprise until the last day. But we know it is made by a Romanian designer, in a cozy shop in a beautiful neighborhood of Bucharest. It is made of natural silk, with handmade veil and embroidery, with Romanian tradional motifs.

I see a Count Elemér Jankovich-Bésán between the guests. The family Jankovich is partly a Dutch noble family (incorporated into the Peerage from existing Hungarian nobility from Croatian origin) with the addition De Jeszenice.

Jonkvrouw Alexandra Jankovich de Jeszenice (daughter Joszéf Béla and Alexandra Jankovich de Jeszenice née baronesse Van Voërts van Lynden) is a friend of the Dutch royal couple and godmother to one of the princesses.

I looked it up in www.arcanum.hu wchich provides information:

Jankovich von Pribér und Vuchin
1642 elevated into Hungarian nobility
1885 elevated to the comital rank

Jankovich de Jeszenice
1686 elevated into the Hungarian nobility
1817 elevated to the baronial rank for a French branch
1976 incorporation into the Dutch nobility

But where is this Jankovich-Bésán then, one of the guests of Nicholas and Alina? I tried to look for in said site and found out that in 1888 a Graf Jankovich von Pribér und Vuchin was allowed to use the name and the arms of the Freiherrliche family Bésán von Dunaszeckseö but without the title ("ohne Freiherrenwürde"). Probably it was the dynasty of his mother which became extinct. Since then it is: Graf (Grãfin) Jankovich-Bésán for this branch.

Nicolae and Alina-Maria got a special wedding gift at Câmpulung Film Fest in the end of August.

The emotional gift received in Bucovina by Prince Nicolae and wife Alina Binder. A dowry basket loaded with intimate adornments donated by the locals.
Prince Nicolae and his wife, Alina Binder, received a gift at Câmpulung Moldovenesc in Suceava County, a basket in which there were old adornments gathered from the Bucovina region.
They patronized Câmpulung Film Fest at the end of August, a comparative film festival, held in Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Suceava County. The central point of the festival was the presenting of the "War of the King" documentary on the life of King Mihai I in the space between the blocks of a Câmpulung neighborhood. The documentary was presented by prince Nicolae, from the perspective of King Mihai's grandson.
At the end of the festival, the team of young volunteers at Câmpulung Film Fest made the princely couple an emotional gift. The students from Câmpulung Moldovenesc spoke to the people from several villages of Bucovina about the wedding scheduled on September 30, asking them to contribute objects for a traditional dowry box. By replacing the classic chest with a traditional basket, the young volunteers filled it with old adornments donated by the people of the Bucovina region. A family in Colacu, having heard about the gift the team of Film Fest prepared for their guests, donated an over 80-year-old shirt, carefully guarded, along with a gauze sewn by hand. Another family, from Fundu Moldovei commune, donated lace, an inch of patches and a traditional Bukovina blanket, used for the wedding of grandparents, 65 years ago. The Bucovinians also gave their future bride a ring, traditional decorated eggs of the region, traditional towels, traditional rugs and a book with different views from Bucovina, two t-shirts with the heart of Bucovina and a woven wool bag.

But they have no future after Margarita so soon they will have vanished

Nonsense, the royal house won´t "vanish" because one pretender has gone. There are many royal houses deposed, in exile ect. still existing after being more than 100, 150 years being abolished.

Who comes after Margarita? One of her sisters, I believe? (Can't remember her name). Other than her, who is there? Who else can speak fluent Romanian, has chosen to live in Romania and has any semblance of recognition with the Romanian man on the street? No one from what I can see, other than Nicholas. In 30 or 40 years, who's the public face of the RRF, doing what we see them doing at the moment? No one seems to know.

The Romanian RF has a unique opportunity it seems to me, for the family to play an increasing role in the future of the country and, who knows, maybe even a restoration. But they choose to shoot themselves in the foot continually. This wedding should be a triumph for the family now that King Michael (around whom everything within the royal house centred) has gone, instead it's just a massive own goal.

Yesterday evening was the wedding rehearsal at the church. The godparents and Alina-Maria's parents attended. At the casino the workers said that everything will be ready in time. And the tourists are waiting for the wedding.
